This month the card class features the Paper Florist Dies from the Stampin’ Up! 2023-2024 Annual Catalog for card creation. These dies offer a vast range of combinations to create beautiful flowers. The flowers can be used on cards or 3-D projects. Today’s Paper Florist card creation uses the Memories and More Card Pack for a larger card base plus cardstock and designer series paper layers to highlight the stunning flowers.
Paper Florist Card Creation Materials
Paper Florist cut pieces:
5 petal die: Basic White cardstock 3″ x 1-3/4″ (for one die cut) cut 4 large and 4 small (each flower uses 2 large/2 small)
4 petal die: Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ (cut once for 2 large/2 small)
Flower Buds Die: cut twice for 6 buds (use scraps of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock) Bud Stems: Granny Apple Green Cardstock – scraps to cut 2 stems
Largest Leaves: Seafoam Green – cut 2 from scraps (approximately 1-1/2″ x 3″ for each)
Small Leaf: Lemon Lime Twist- cut 1 from scrap (approximately 1-1/8″ x 1-1/2″)
Basic Black Cardstock: scraps to cut centers for flowers
Cut Dimensions:
Berry Burst Layering Panel: 5-3/4″ x 3-3/4″
Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper: 5-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
Basic White Cardstock: 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ (die cut with 2nd largest Stylish Shapes Dies Circle)
Bubble Bath Cardstock: 3″ x 3″ (die cut with largest Stylish Shapes Dies Circle)

The Paper Florist Dies can be easily overlooked in the catalog (their shown on page 33 and in the Dies section in the back of the catalog). This weekend we’re attending the wedding of our niece so naturally a special card is necessary. The wedding in New Orleans has a garden theme and I couldn’t think of a better way to highlight it than to use the products from the Fancy Flora Suite Collection. The Two-Tone Flora Dies and the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper combine to create a beautiful card. Since I wanted to make a large card, the Basic White Memories & More card pack contains the perfect 4″ x 6″ size. The large Two-Tone Flora Die used to cut the overlay is perfect as it does not cut the outer edges so it allows the creation of a border to fill the entire card front. A simple message embellished with a small bow does not detract from the card front. The Something Fancy Stamp Set has the perfect size “congratulations.” On the interior a larger stamped sentiment still allows lots of space for a personal, handwritten message to the couple. And naturally, the envelope needed some embellishment! Best of all, the elegant card did not take long to create.
Here’s a tip for using the large, intricate die – cut with the die cutting edges face up. Place the die onto the cutting plate of your die machine face up, then add the card stock on top of the die, finish with top cutting plate. Depending upon your particular die cutting machine, you may also need to add a shim – usually a piece of cardstock is sufficient.

To celebrate the official start of baseball season, I created a bag of treats for my son. He’s an avid Atlanta Braves fan so what better than Cracker Jacks, peanuts and Baby Ruth candy bars to enjoy while watching the ballgames. And of course, the treat needed a baseball themed tag! By using the Your Biggest Fan bundle and the Hey Sports Fan Designer Series Paper, the Hey Sports Fan tag comes together quickly. Do you see the baseball on the tag? Be sure to watch the assembly video below for tips on making a baseball. I also used the Hat Builder Dies to add a small baseball cap to the tag. (NOTE: The Hat Builder Dies are retiring so if you don’t have the dies, you may want to consider adding them to your die collection.) While adding the hat is optional, it definitely adds a finishing touch!

In the March card class, the focus was using the Hey Sports Fan Product Suite. Included in the project suite is the Your Biggest Fan Bundle. The bundle includes the Your Biggest Fan Stamp Set and coordinating Sports Event Dies. Even better, the Hat Builder Dies complement the Hey Sports Fan products and add a perfect touch to today’s project. The Father’s Day sentiment can easily be change to fit another occasion. This week, I am sharing another card from the recent All About Tulips Class. It’s a Windmill Side Panel Step card. This is a fun card to make and though it looks complicated, it’s not. The only stamping is the sentiment. The remainder of design elements include the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper and die cuts! You’ll find all the components for the windmill in the Windmill Fields Dies. After prepping the materials, the assembly only takes a few minutes so it’s one of those projects where you can plan to make card multiples. Just cut the extra pieces and have everything ready to assemble at once. You’ll find the assembly video for the Windmill Side Panel Step Card and the project material dimensions below.

It was time for me to use the Flowering Tulips Bundle so for the recent card class, the theme was All About Tulips. What a fun bundle!
