Lily of the Valley “Happiest Birthday Wishes” Card

There’s something timeless and elegant about Lily of the Valley, and this birthday card beautifully captures that charm. With layers of lush greenery, delicate floral images, and a soft color palette, this card is perfect for celebrating someone special on their birthday.

The design begins with a refreshing Coastal Cabana card base layered with Basic Beige cardstock and a coordinating Lily of the Valley Designer Series Paper pattern. The botanical print provides a lovely backdrop while allowing the focal elements to shine.

To create dimension and visual interest, a Coastal Cabana square is turned on the diagonal to form a diamond shape. This simple design element helps draw the eye toward the center of the card and provides a foundation for the layered foliage.

The Lily of the Valley Bundle takes center stage with stamped and die-cut leaves arranged in varying shades of green. Layering the foliage creates depth and mimics the natural growth of the plant. The delicate Lily of the Valley blooms were stamped, die cut, lightly colored and layered over the leaves, creating a graceful focal point that stands out beautifully against the patterned background.

A touch of natural linen thread tied into a bow softens the design and adds texture without overwhelming the card. The sentiment, “Happiest Birthday Wishes!”, is featured on a simple label and tucked into the floral arrangement. A few coordinating embellishments provide the perfect finishing touch and add a subtle sparkle.

I also stamped a coordinating Lily of the Valley image inside the card, creating a polished look that carries the design from the exterior to the interior.

Step-by-step instructions …

What I love most about this card is how versatile it is. While it makes a beautiful birthday card, simply changing the sentiment would make it suitable for a variety of occasions including thank you cards, thinking of you cards, or even sympathy cards.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope this project inspires you to pull out your favorite floral stamps and create something beautiful. If you recreate this card, I’d love to see your version!

Happy stamping!

Painterly Pears Fun Fold Card

The focus of the August 2025 card class was all about fun folds. And today, I’m excited to share one of my favorites—the Painterly Pears fun fold card. I’ve named this design the “Side Cascade Accordion Fold.” There may be an “official” name out there, but I decided to call it what I see (LOL).

This unique fold really makes the Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper shine. It pairs beautifully with the Perfectly Pears Bundle. The layered panels give the card extra dimension and movement, while the side cascading design adds a touch of elegance and surprise when the card is opened.

Whether you’re looking to showcase gorgeous patterned paper or simply want to try something new, this fold is a fun way to elevate your cardmaking.

Below you’ll find video step-by-step instructions and the cutting measurements so you can create your own Side Cascade Accordion Fold card at home.

The card class theme for last month features the Friends of the Ocean bundle, and today’s project is a fun fold card.   The card features the colorful Friends of the Ocean Designer Series Paper and the Ocean Friends Bundle.  Using the designer series paper as inspiration,  I knew the coordinating ink colors would be perfect for creating the stamped background for the die-cut crab.  The cute crab is die-cut from the designer series paper!  I love it when dies coordinate with images in designer paper. Citrus Blooms Hello Card

Today’s post features a hello greeting card using the Citrus Blooms Bundle and the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper from the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog from Stampin’ Up! This is one of the July card class projects from the “Flowers & Blooms” class. All cards contain flowers or flower blooms.

This card highlights the beautiful Mediterranean Blooms designer series paper.  The oranges and orange blossoms from the designer paper have a coordinating die.  I just love it when there’s a die to cut beautiful images!

Notice the layering panel highlighting the citrus and blooms. A double cut using the Citrus Blooms die creates a smaller panel. The technique to create the top layering panel is shown in the assembly video.
