The focus of the August 2025 card class was all about fun folds. And today, I’m excited to share one of my favorites—the Painterly Pears fun fold card. I’ve named this design the “Side Cascade Accordion Fold.” There may be an “official” name out there, but I decided to call it what I see (LOL).
This unique fold really makes the Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper shine. It pairs beautifully with the Perfectly Pears Bundle. The layered panels give the card extra dimension and movement, while the side cascading design adds a touch of elegance and surprise when the card is opened.
Whether you’re looking to showcase gorgeous patterned paper or simply want to try something new, this fold is a fun way to elevate your cardmaking.
Below you’ll find video step-by-step instructions and the cutting measurements so you can create your own Side Cascade Accordion Fold card at home.

The card class theme for last month features the Friends of the Ocean bundle, and today’s project is a fun fold card. The card features the colorful Friends of the Ocean Designer Series Paper and the Ocean Friends Bundle. Using the designer series paper as inspiration, I knew the coordinating ink colors would be perfect for creating the stamped background for the die-cut crab. The cute crab is die-cut from the designer series paper! I love it when dies coordinate with images in designer paper. You will find details on recreating this card below.
