May 6, 2020 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Fun Folds, Magnolia Lane Suite, Mother's Day, Stampin' Up!, Uncategorized |
Check out this beautiful Diamond Easel Card! Before being required to shelter-in-place, our community craft club held its monthly meeting. At the meeting a member of the Playtime with Paper team, Beneta, led the class in making the card design. I choose a Mother’s Day sentiment and will be sending the card to my mother. For our cards, the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle and coordinating Magnolia Lane Designer Series paper combine to create this beautiful fancy fun fold card.

For full details on creating a Diamond Easel Card be sure to check out Susan Levasseur’s post at this link: www.wownolacreations.com. In addition to products and sizes required for the card, Susan has a step-by-step video you can follow. Note: Stampin’ Blends can be used in place of the watercolor pencils and Stampin’ Write Markers.
Making the Diamond Easel Card was a huge success at the craft club meeting. A big “Thank You” to Beneta for leading the club in creating the card!
I can’t wait to try making the card again using another of the Stampin’ Up! bundles and coordinating papers. Be sure to notice that the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper is discounted on the Last-Chance Product List. It is available while supplies last or thru June 2. Grab it before it’s gone!

May 4, 2020 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Bird Ballad, Designer Series Paper, Embossing Folder, January-June 2020 Mini Catalog, Ornate Garden Suite, Uncategorized |
Today’s card design, a Cheerful Hello, utilizes the sketch from the Playtime with Paper weekly challenge. One of my favorite papers is the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, thus I thought it perfect for a cheerful card. Notice the background layer? The Whisper White cardstock has been texture embossed using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. Recall, this is an early release product from the upcoming catalog. Continue reading for more card details.

Card Details:
- Cut Pool Party cardstock 5-1/2″ x 11″ and score at 4-1/4″. Fold along score line to create the card base.
- Texture emboss a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. Do not add to card base yet.
- Select two coordinating pieces of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and cut each 4-1/4″ x 3″.
- Attach the Designer Series Paper to the Whisper White embossed layer using an offset angle for the top layer (refer to photo).
- Cut a 24″ piece of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and color with Daffodil Delight. Methods for coloring includes using the Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin’ Blends marker or using drops of Daffodil Delight Ink Refill and a plastic bag to die the ribbon. If you add ink refill drops to a small plastic bag with the ribbon, massage so that ink transfers to ribbon. Remove from the bag and it’s important to let ribbon before using or else the color will transfer to your card. When coloring with the Stampin’ Blends, the color will dries immediately.
- Wrap ribbon around the Whisper White layer and across the Designer Series Paper panels. Tie into a small bow.
- With a strong adhesive such as Multipurpose Liquid Glue, attach to the Pool Party card base.
- Using the Hello sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Cut the sentiment using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
- Attach the sentiment to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Embellish using the coordinating Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
Before I forget, here’s the Design Sketch selected for the Playtime with Paper Weekly Challenge:
Take note, the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and the Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins are on the Last-Chance Product List. Therefore, these products will only available through June 2 or while supplies last. Be sure to place your order soon if you want this beautiful paper and easy to use embellishments.

Apr 29, 2020 | 3D, Designer Series Paper, Dressed to Impress Bundle, January-June 2020 Mini Catalog |
During the cleaning and reorganizing of my craft cave recently, I came across a package of Lipstick Ink Pens ordered from Amazon last year for one of those “good intentions” projects. You know you have “good intentions” to make a project, order all the materials but it never gets made! Can you relate? Thought I can’t remember the original design, I knew the Dressed to Impress bundle would be perfect to create a 3D project using the ink pens. Even better, the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper contains a variety of colors to coordinate with the Lipstick Ink Pens. The resulting project is a Lipstick Pen and Post-It Note Holder.
For this week’s Playtime with Paper team online meeting, members received a kit for creating this project. It was a fun to be able to meet virtually and craft together making the project.

Project Materials:
- Cut the following pieces of cardstock:
- Base: 4-1/4″ x 11″, score at 5-1/2″ and fold.
- Inner Support: cardstock 4″ x 4-1/2″. On the 4-1/2″ side, score at 1/2″, 2-1/4″ and 4″. Fold along score lines to form a “W”.

- Lipstick holder: 3-1/2″ x 2-3/4″. Score along the 3-1/2″ side at 3/4″, 1-1/2″, 2-1/4″ and 3″. Score the 2-3/4″ side at 2″. Use bone folder to burnish along the score lines.
- For sentiment: Whisper White cardstock 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
- Select desired Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and cut as follows:
- 5-1/4″ x 4″
- 3 pieces at 1/2″ x 1-3/4″
- Dressed To Impress Stamp Set
- Classic Stampin’ Pad to coordinate with project
- Stitched Shaped Dies
- Coordinating ribbon
- 2″ x 2″ Post-It Notes
- Lipstick Ink Pens (Amazon link)
Project Assembly:
- Use the 5-1/4″ x 4″ Best Dressed Designer Series Paper to one side of the cardstock base. This will be the front side of your project.
- Attach the inner support piece to the inside of the base. To do so, add a strong adhesive such as Tear & Tape Adhesive or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the outside of each of the 1/2″ flaps and attach each flap to the lower interior edge of the base.

- Create the lipstick holder. With paper snips, cut along each score line on the 3-3/4″ side up to the 2″ scored line. After cutting, you will have 4 tabs that are 3/4″ and one tab that is 1/2″. Cut and remove the 1/2″ tab up to the 2″ score line then cut a small angle at bottom of the tab. Trim along each side of the tab. Add adhesive to outside of the 1/2″ tab and fold side over to create tube. Fold each of the flaps and seal with adhesive to form the tube bottom. Finish by adding the 1/2″ x 1-3/4″ Designer Series Paper to three sides of the tube. With strong adhesive, add the lipstick tube holder to the front panel of the base.

- Add the Post-It Notes to the front of the base using a strong adhesive aligning the bottom of note pad with bottom of lipstick tube holder.
- Stamp sentiment onto the Whisper White cardstock. Cut using the circle Stitched Shapes Die.
- Add the sentiment above the post-it notes using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Embellish by adding a small bow using Mini Glue Dots.
Have fun selecting your favorite Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and coordinating cardstock to create a Lipstick Pen Holder and Post-It Notes holder for your desk. Be sure to share your project with me in the comments section!
Important to note:
A reminder that Stampin’ Up! has released the Last-Chance Product List. The list includes the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and the Dressed to Impress Bundle. The designer series paper will no longer be available after June 3 or while supplies last. Feb 21, 2020 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Forever Blossoms, January-June 2020 Mini Catalog, Note Cards, Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper, Scalloped Note Cards |
In this month’s card class, the focus was on All About Flowers. A must was using the Forever Blossoms Bundle and the Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper. The cherry blossoms evokes thoughts of Spring and the cherry blossom stamp with it’s coordinating die are perfect for creating cards and projects. With the multitude of rainy days we’ve had in Georgia, hopefully the cherry blossoms will give us a showy Spring! As you’ve likely noticed, I enjoy using note cards and the Scalloped Note Cards & Envelopes coordinates perfectly with the designer series paper. The idea for coloring the cherry blossoms using Sponge Daubers comes from Patty Bennett. Just click on the link to Patty’s page for details. Sponging makes it a quick project.

If you want to make the Forever Blossoms Note Card, use a light pink Scalloped Note Card. Attach a layer of 5″ x 2-3/4″ Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper to the front of the card and a 1/2″ x 5″ strip to the inside right card edge. You want the strip to “peek” behind the scalloped card edge.
Using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad, stamp the cherry blossoms onto a 5″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Also on the Whisper White cardstock, stamp the Hello sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia using Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad. Add Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo to the cherry blossoms with sponge daubers. To color the stems, use Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. Cut the cherry blossom stem with the coordinating Cherry Blossoms Die. To cut the sentiment, use the Stitched Labels Dies.
Assemble by adding the cherry blossom to the front of the note card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then, attach the sentiment label. Complete by tying a small knot bow using the Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon and adhere using a mini glue dot.
TIP: Stamp multiple cherry blossoms onto Whisper White cardstock and have a color fest selecting a variety of colors for the blossoms. Cut each with the coordinating die and you’ll be set to create a variety of cards to have on hand.
