This week I thought I’d take a break from card class posts featuring the Perennial Lavender Product Suite and I am sharing birthday cards with you. My birthday is in February and several of the Playtime with Paper team members recognized my special day by sending their handcrafted cards. It was a nice surprise the week of my birthday to receive the beautiful cards. And I’m a believer in celebrating for more than one day! According to my husband, I celebrate the entire month of February but actually I limit the celebrating to just a week!!! (LOL)
This first card was created by Linda Edwards (Crafty Heron Designs). It uses products from the Nature’s Sweetness Suite Collection. Her beautiful card has lots of texture and dimension.
Next up is a beautiful card created by Debbie Pekins. Her card features the Translucent Florals Bundle and coordinating Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper. The sentiment comes from the Inked & Tiled Stamp Set.
And last up (but certainly not least) is the card creation from Kim Wing. She decided to stop hoarding the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper (from Sale-a-bration 2023) and made this lovely card. Can you relate to hoarding paper because it’s too beautiful to cut?! The sentiment is from the Go To Greetings which offers common sentiments in a variety of fonts and sizes.
Celebrating birthdays are special and when you receive a handcrafted card, it’s even more special. My birthday was wonderful and a huge appreciation goes to these three card creators for sharing their talents with me to make it more memorable!

Today I am using the Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils for coloring the gorgeous large camellia in the Calming Camellia Stamp Set. With this exclusive stamp set, you can use just one ink color and create a simple but beautiful card. However, it’s easy to add multiple colors using the Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils. Are you a plant lover? I am but unfortunately I do not have a “green thumb”. Thankful my husband keeps our houseplants alive! But Stampin’ Up! offers me the chance to create plants that don’t need watering or the right amount of light to survive (LOL). This week, I have a fun fold card featuring the Plentiful Plants Bundle. It also features the Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper which coordinates with the stamp bundle. What’s great is the Perfect Plants Dies from the bundle will cut some of the images found in the designer series paper. This is especially helpful when you need to create a card quickly. As you’ll notice on the stamped envelope below, the plant and pot have shading. Thanks to the Plentiful Plants Stamp Set containing Distinktive stamps which create beautiful shaded images.

Wow! I can’t believe a month has passed and I haven’t updated this blog. Obviously, I’ve been busy but I didn’t realize so much time has passed. The great thing is I have lots of projects to share with you over the next few weeks. So many, that I’ll be adding some additional posts for the next few weeks. One group of projects will feature the Sweet As A Peach Bundle. When I first saw the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, I was immediately drawn to the Sweet As A Peach bundle and the coordinating You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper. So today, I am sharing a project from the May card class featuring the bundle.
Card Details:
Create a card base using Basic White Thick cardstock (4-1/4″ x 11″, score at 5-1/2″ and fold).
Cut the following from the You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper (DSP): 5-1/2″ x 4″ and a coordinating piece 4-1/4″ x 2-1/2″.
Attach the larger piece of the DSP of the front of the card base using your favorite adhesive.
Next, cut a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock (2-7/8″ x 4-1/4″). Center and mount the coordinating DSP to the Calypso Coral cardstock. Wrap a strip of the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon around the piece (refer to card photo – note: we’ll tie bow and add it after attaching the sentiment). Use a strong adhesive to add the layered piece to the card front.
On a 2-1/4″ square of Basic White cardstock, stamp the sentiment using Calypso Coral Classic Ink Pad. Note: I found it easiest to stamp the largest part of the sentiment first and then to add the “you’re as” smaller stamp sentiment last. After stamping, cut the label shape using the Tasteful Labels Dies (or your favorite die shape).
Stamp the small leaves using Pear Pizzazz on each side of the sentiment leaving room for adding the Loose Flower Flourishes embellishments. Add the embellishments using glue dots.
Add to the sentiment to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Complete the card by tying a bow using the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon and attaching the bow using glue dots.
