Poppy Moments Wedding Card

Due to the current health situation, many weddings have to be postponed.  When the event is rescheduled, be prepared with a beautiful card.  I’m calling today’s card the Poppy Moments Wedding Card, since it features poppies cut with the Poppies Moments Dies. The sentiment and label are from the So Sentimental Bundle.  Due to social distancing, the May card class was held via Zoom and participants had fun creating this card together virtually.

And hip, hip, hooray!  I have a You Tube video tutorial for you.  It’s the first, but I promise you not the last that I’ll create.  Yes, it took me awhile but I think I have the filming and editing somewhat figured out.  Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks! LOL  If you scroll past the video, you’ll find the list of materials needed to create the card and assembly details.

Diamond Easel Card for Mother’s Day

Check out this beautiful Diamond Easel Card!  Before being required to shelter-in-place, our community craft club held its monthly meeting.  At the meeting a member of the Playtime with Paper team, Beneta, led the class in making the card design.  I choose a Mother’s Day sentiment and will be sending the card to my mother.  For our cards, the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle and coordinating Magnolia Lane Designer Series paper combine to create this beautiful fancy fun fold card.

A Cheerful Hello

Today’s card design, a Cheerful Hello, utilizes the sketch from the Playtime with Paper weekly challenge.  One of my favorite papers is the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, thus I thought it perfect for a cheerful card.  Notice the background layer?  The Whisper White cardstock has been texture embossed using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.  Recall, this is an early release product from the upcoming catalog.  Continue reading for more card details.

Bird Ballad Hello

Card Details:
  • Cut Pool Party cardstock 5-1/2″ x 11″ and score at 4-1/4″. Fold along score line to create the card base.
  • Texture emboss a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.  Do not add to card base yet.
  • Select two coordinating pieces of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and cut each 4-1/4″ x 3″.
  • Attach the Designer Series Paper to the Whisper White embossed layer using an offset angle for the top layer (refer to photo).
  • Cut a 24″ piece of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and color with Daffodil Delight.  Methods for coloring includes using the Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin’ Blends marker or using drops of Daffodil Delight Ink Refill and a plastic bag to die the ribbon.  If you add ink refill drops to a small plastic bag with the ribbon, massage so that ink transfers to ribbon.  Remove from the bag  and it’s important to let ribbon before using or else the color will transfer to your card.  When coloring with the Stampin’ Blends, the color will dries immediately.
  • Wrap ribbon around the Whisper White layer and across the Designer Series Paper panels.  Tie into a small bow.
  • With a strong adhesive such as Multipurpose Liquid Glue, attach to the Pool Party card base.
  • Using the Hello sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut the sentiment using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
  • Attach the sentiment to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Embellish using the coordinating Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

Before I forget, here’s the Design Sketch selected for the Playtime with Paper Weekly Challenge:

Lipstick on A Pig

Today’s card is the result of an idea that’s been floating in my mind since the release of the Mini Catalog.  I thought it would be fun to create a card with the theme of “Lipstick on A Pig” combining the Dressed to Impress and This Little Piggy Stamp sets.  And of course, the color of Lovely Lipstick has to be used.  It’s amazing how quickly my design vision came together!  Below is my “lipstick on a pig”card:

Lipstick on a Pig

Details so you can create “Lipstick on a Pig”:
  • For the card base, cut Petal Pink cardstock (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″).  Score at 4-1/4″ and fold.
  • Second layer is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.
  • Top layer uses a piece of 5″ x 3-3/4″ Best Dressed Designer Series Paper.
For the pig:
  • Cut a piece of 3″ x 4-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Stitched Nested Labels dies.
  • Select pig stamp from the This Little Piggy Stamp Set.  Cover the sentiment below the pig using a small post-it note.  With the post-it note in place, ink the pig stamp with Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad.  Remove the post-it note and stamp the pig on the right side of the Whisper White Stitched Label cardstock piece.
  • Color the pig body using the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Use the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Marker to color the pig’s hooves.  Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Marker colors the grass and the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker colors the ground around the pig.
  • Use the “kisses” stamp from This Little Piggy Stamp Set to add kisses on the pig’s body.  TIP: Instead of using the ink pad, use the Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Write Marker to color each of the kisses and stamp onto pig.  This prevents over-inking the stamp.
  • Next, stamp the sentiment, Hello Gorgeous, from the Dressed to Impress Stamp Set onto the label using the Lovely Lipstick Classic Stampin’ Pad. Then, attach label to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finishing touches:
  • Stamp the tube of lipstick using Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Color with using the Lovely Lipsticks Stampin’ Blends Markers and the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Use the Color Lifter to assist with shading on the tube portion.
  • Cut the lipstick tube using the coordinating die from the All Dressed Up Dies.  Add to the card using Mini Glue Dots.
  • Complete the card by adding a small bow using the Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon to the edge of the label.

Have fun creating your own “lipstick on a pig” card!

Thank you for stopping by today and happy crafting!
