Christmas in July 2021-Snowman Season Gift Tags

Keeping with this week’s gift tag theme for Christmas in July, I am featuring Snowman Gift Tags.  A recent purchase of snowman notepads became the inspiration for the snowman gift tags.  Since I’ll be “giving a little something” to folks throughout the holiday season, it’s only appropriate to make the presentation special. Right?!  Even better, the notepads fit perfectly into the Ombre Gift Bags. And with coordinating snowman gift tags, the “little something” is ready to present later this year.  The Snowman Season Stamp Set and the Tailor Made Tags Dies in the 2021-2022 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog are perfect for making the gift tags.  Best of all, the tags are quick and easy to make!

Butterfly Bijou Covered Notepad

The project for today is perfect when you want to give someone “just a little something”. To make the project, just cover a small notepad with cardstock and the beautiful Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper then add a few embellishments.  Use it to give as a thank you, a thinking of you or a just because small gift.  While preparing the materials for the small notepad, cut cardstock and designer series paper to make an accompanying 3″x3″ card.  Not only does the notepad make a great gift but it’s also perfect for craft fair projects.

Butterfly Bijou

There are a variety of small notepads of various sizes available that you can cover.  The package for my project contains 3 composition book style notepads (size: 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″) and were found at my local dollar store.  Three notepads for $1 is a great deal!

Tips for covering a notepad:

Measure to confirm the length, width and depth for front, back and side of the notepad.  Cut cardstock to the size needed and add score lines for wrapping around the notepad. (for the 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ notepad, I cut the cardstock 4-5/8″ x 7″, score at 3-3/8″, rotate and score again at 3-3/8″). Use the Detailed Trio Punch to round corners of the cardstock.  Do this before attaching the cardstock to the notepad.  Attach the cardstock to the notepad using a strong adhesive such as Tear & Tape or Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.  Next, cut the Butterfly Bijou paper and round the corners before adding to the cardstock cover.  Embellish with desired sentiment, ribbon and coordinating butterfly.  The sentiment on the sample above is from the Simply Citrus Card Kit.  The butterfly is stamped using Misty Moonlight, die cut using the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and color added using Just Jade and So Saffron Stampin’ Blends.  Be creative and embellish your covered notepad with using an assortment of butterflies!

The Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper is available only during the Butterfly Bouquet promotion which ends May 3, 2021. With the limited time offer for the designer series paper, it is while supply last.  The Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper coordinates with the Butterfly Brilliance Collection that includes not just the designer series paper but the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and Natural Touch Specialty Paper.  Both the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and the Natural Touch Specialty Paper are early released products from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.  Be sure to order the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper before the promotion ends or it sells out.

November 3-D Blog Hop

It’s time for the November 3-D  Blog Hop! We were formerly the 3-D Tutorial Blog Hop but decided to make the transition to a 3-D Blog Hop.  This enables us to offer you 3-D project and instructions directly on our blogs each month.  This month we are featuring 3-D Christmas projects for you. So be sure to “hop along” to see the creative projects designed for you to use this holiday season!

One of my favorite small gifts each season are the Bath & Body Works hand sanitizers.  Of course, this year the hand sanitizers are a necessity!  I enjoy creating unique packaging for the hand sanitizers when presenting to friends and family.  A small inexpensive gift becomes special when specially wrapped.  Today’s packaging features the Snowflake Flake Wishes bundle.

Hand Sanitiz

Project Materials:
  • Balmy Blue cardstock:
    • Base: 1-3/4″ x 10″ score at 4-1/2″ and 5-1/2″
    • Band: 1″ x 6″ score at 1/2″, 2-1/4″, 3-1/4″ and 5″
  • Silver Foil: 2 pcs – 2″ x 2″ for snowflakes
  • Balmy Blue Gimmer Paper: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ & 1-3/4″ x 1-3/4″ for snowflakes
  • Whisper White cardstock: 2″ x 2″ & 1-3/4″ x 1-3/4″ for snowflakes; 1/2″ x 2-1/2″ for sentiment
  • So Many Snowflakes Dies
  • Winter Snow Embossing Folder
  • Scalloped Tag Topper Punch
  • Banners Pick A Punch
  • Curvy Christmas Stamp Set
  • Misty Moonlight Classic Ink Pad
  • Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon: 6″
  • Blue Adhesive Backed Gems
To create holder base:
  1. First, punch the top and bottom of the 10″ strip of the Balmy Blue with the Scalloped Tag Topper.
  2. Then, texture emboss using the Winter Snow Embossing Folder.  Note: slide each side of the holder strip into the embossing folder up to the score line on each side.  To seal the top, match the scalloped edges and close with glue dots.
  3. Now, wrap the band around the holder and seal the overlapping piece with a strong adhesive (Tear & Tape, Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive or Stampin’ Seal+).  TIP: do not attach the band to the holder base but use it to slide up/down to insert or remove the hand sanitizer.
Embellishing Hand Sanitizer Holder
  1. Cut the snowflakes using the mid-sized and smallest snowflake dies.  For my snowflakes, I cut the following: two Silver Foil using the same medium sized snowflake die; Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper: one using the 2nd largest snowflake die & one using the smallest snowflake die and from Whisper White cardstock: one small snowflake and one medium snowflake.  Create the snowflakes by layering the pieces and attaching each with glue dots.  To complete each snowflake, add a Blue Adhesive Backed Gem to the center. Notice, you will have one snowflake that is slightly larger than the other. Below is a photo of the dies used:
  2. Using Misty Moonlight Classic Ink Pad, stamp the sentiment onto the Whisper White strip.  Then, create the banner end using the Banners Pick A Punch.
  3. Wrap the Silver Metallic ribbon around the holder band and adhere.  TIP: place the seam on the front of the band so you can cover it with a snowflake.
  4. Add the largest snowflake with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional placing it over the seam where the ribbon overlaps.
  5. With glue dots, add the sentiment banner to the top of the holder.
  6. Finish by adding the remaining snowflake to the top of the holder beside the sentiment using a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.  Insert the sanitizer into the holder.
See how easy it is to make the hand sanitizer holders?

Remember, you can create a holders for a variety of occasions just by using different embossing folders and dies.

Halloween Treat Gifts

Since we no longer have trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood, I am making Halloween treat gifts for family and friends.  Stampin’ Up! has a variety of packaging options making treat giving simple.  I am using the 6″ x 8″ cellophane bags for the majority of the Halloween treat gifts and making bag toppers with the Celebration Labels Dies.  There is one Halloween treat that uses a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box (for a special recipient!)

Halloween Treat Bags

Tips for bag toppers:

To create the bag toppers, use the largest die from the Celebration Labels Dies to cut desired pattern from the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper (on Sale until through October 31!) After cutting, score the center of the label. Attach to the bag using Stampin’ Seal+ and fold over the  6″ x 8″ Cellophane Bag (don’t forget to fill the bag with your treats first!).  Embellish the bag topper using the Banner Year Stamp Set and the Little Treats Bundle products. This is a project to use cardstock from your scrap bin!  Use Layering Circles dies to cut tags to add to the bag topper. Additional embellishments are: bats cut from the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper using the coordinating Halloween Magic Dies, Wink of Stella (on spiders), Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Champagne Rhinestone Jewels, Metallic Mesh Ribbon and Glittered Organdy Ribbon.

Halloween Treat Bos

Tip for coloring the Mini Paper Pumpkin Box:

Use the Mango Melody, Bumblebee and Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink Pads to swipe ink across the box exterior.  I found it best to swipe in one direction with a color and then swipe in opposite direction for coverage.  After adding the final color layer, spritz water to create the spotted appearance.  Decorate as desired!

Halloween Treats

As you see in the photo above, I have made a number of Halloween treat gifts.  Using different Halloween greetings and embellishments, each is slightly different.   The Banner Year and Little Treats Stamp Sets have perfect sentiments to make small tags for different occasions.  I still have a few treats remaining so will be finishing more bag toppers this weekend so they’ll be ready for gifting next week!

Autumn Theme Bag Topper

Since transitioning to virtual card classes due to the pandemic, registrants receive a “little something” extra with the kits.  This month, an autumn theme bag topper added to a Mosaic Gusseted Cellophane Bag was perfect for the special treat.  Even better, the bag topper is quick to make using the Celebration Labels Dies.  The dies and Celebration Tidings Stamp Set are available together in the Celebration Tidings Bundle. For an autumn theme, the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Paper is ideal.

Treat Bag with Topper

Bag Topper Tips:

For creating a bag topper, the Celebration Labels Dies offer a range of sizes so you can create toppers for a variety of bag sizes. Just lay a die across the top of the bag to determine the size needed.  After die cutting your designer series paper or cardstock, place the label on your scoring board aligning the notches on the label and score to create the fold line. To seal bag top, use Stampin’ Seal+ on the label and fold across the bag opening. As noted, I used the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper for my project bag toppers.  The designer series paper is perfect for an autumn theme bag topper.

For the autumn theme treat bag, a coordinating gift tag is added to the bag topper.  Cut one end of a 3-1/4″x 3/4″  piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using the Banners Pick A Punch.  Then, stamp the “just for you” from the Celebration Tidings Stamp Set onto the tag using Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad.  Using the Autumn Punch Pack, cut leaves and acorns from the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Add the leaves to the tag with glue dots and use a Stampin’ Dimensional on the acorn.  Next, add a small bow to the gift tag.   To finish, use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the gift tag.

Creating bag toppers using the Celebration Labels Dies is quick and easy!  Adding this special touch to a cellophane bag elevates the simplest treat.  With upcoming holidays, consider ordering the Celebration Tidings Bundles so you can quickly turn a “little something” into “something special”!

another Peony Gift Box

Included in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog from Stampin’ Up! are 3-1/8″ square Acetate Card Boxes.  While perfect for holding 3″ x 3″ cards, the boxes are also perfect for using as a small gift box.  So for today’s project, I have another Peony Gift Box for you.  Yes, I’m loving the Peony Dies and the peony is the perfect size for the acetate box.

Peony Gift Box

  • Tool: Sponge Dauber
  • Embellishments: Elegant Faceted Gems

  2. Sponge each of the peony layers prior to assembling the peony.
  3. Slide each layer of the Peony Petals into one another to assemble the peony ensuring that the bottom edges align.

Inside of the Peony Gift Box, I am placing small candies that are going to a friend.  Here’s another idea…By changing the sentiment to “Just a Note” and adding 3″ x 3″ cards, another perfect gift is created.  What do you plan on adding to your gift box?  Let me know in the comments section.
