Udderly Fantastic

Each month the top sales performers in the Playtime with Paper group receive a small gift for their accomplishment.  Naturally, the gift must include a card or tag.  Using the Over the Moon Cling Stamp Set from the Annual Catalog, I was able to make an “Udderly Fantastic” note card .  As you can tell from the “udderly fantastic”, there must be a cow somewhere on the card!  If you noticed from my past posts, I enjoy using the note cards.  The note cards are perfect to have on hand when you want to prepare a quick card.  Best of all, twenty note cards come in a set, are reasonably priced and envelopes are included.

Over the Moon Stamp Set

Here are the steps for creating the card:

  • The stamp for creating the cow spots background comes from the Love What You Do Stamp Set.  Randomly stamp spots onto the Whisper White Note Card using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
  • Stamp the sentiment and the cow onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut using the large circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
  • Color the cow using the following Stampin’ Blends: Light Black for the spots, hoof, and tail; Light Smoky Slate for the tail, hair tuft and shading shadows; Light Petal Pink for the face, udder and inside ears and Light Mossy Meadow for the grass.
  • Use the large scallop from the Layering Circles die to cut a layering piece from Basic Black cardstock.  Attach the cow piece to the scallop using adhesive.
  • Tie a piece of Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the card.
  • Complete the card by adding the cow tag to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Order the Over the Moon Stamp Set along with some note cards and have an udderly fun time creating a variety of cards!

Simple Halloween Card

Are you looking for a simple Halloween Card to make?  This card has you covered!  The beauty of the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper are the wonderful designs to use on craft creations.  Notice the Designer Series Paper panel on the card below?  It’s a bookshelf with interesting book titles and is one of my favorite papers from the package.  With the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder, you can easily take your card “up a notch” by adding texture to one of the card layers.

Monster Bash Halloween Card

Card Details:
  • Card Base is Terracotta Tile cardstock (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″) score and fold at 4-1/4″.
  • Cut a Basic Black layer 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Attach to the Terracotta Tile card base with Snail Adhesive.
  • Using a  3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Crushed Curry cardstock, texture embellish using the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder.  Attach a 5″ x 2″ piece of Monster Mash Designer Series Paper to the lower half of the texture embossed Crushed Curry cardstock.  Before adding to the Basic Black layer, wrap Basic Black Scalloped Edge Ribbon across the card front where the Designer Series Paper and Crushed Curry cardstock meet.  (refer to photo)
  • Punch the girl ghoul image from the Monster Mash Designer Series Paper with the 2″ circle punch.  Add to top of the card using Snail Adhesive.
  • Complete the card front by stamping the  sentiment  from the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set with Memento black onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut with the coordinating Ornate Frames Dies.  Attach to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Add a couple of the Monster Bash Enamel Shapes as an embellishment around the sentiment.

See how simple it is to make this card!  The only stamping is for the sentiment.

Quick and Easy Gift Tag

It’s such fun to give small “thinking of you” gifts and the 3″ x 6″ gusseted cellophane bags from Stampin’ Up! are the perfect size for such purpose.  Naturally, the gift bag needs a gift tag and the one on the project below is quick and easy.  This project is perfect for using up scraps of cardstock.  Since we’re celebrating the arrival of Fall soon, leaves in Fall colors are used to embellish the tag.  The Gather Together Bundle includes the Gather Together Stamp Set and the Gathered Leaves Dies.  Can you see the dimension in the leaves?  The dies not only cut but emboss!  Details for creating the tag are listed below the project photo.

Treat Bag with Fall Leaves Tag

Card Details:
  • To create tag base, cut a 1-1/2″ x 3″ piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  On one end of the cardstock, use the Delightful Tag Topper Punch to create the tag.  Use the corner rounder section on the Detailed Trio Punch to round the edges on the opposite end of the tag.
  • On the tag, stamp the large leaf from the Gather Together Stamp Set using Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin’ Pad.
  • Next, use the three leaves dies to cut a leaves from scraps of Merry Merlot, Pretty Peacock and Cajun Craze cardstock.  One leaf in each color was cut.  TIP: By first lightly spritzing the cardstock with water and then cutting with the dies.   The embossed impression is much deeper.  Plus when the cardstock dries, the edges of the leaves curl just as Fall leaves curl.
  • While the leaves are drying, stamp the sentiment from the Parcels and Petals Stamp Set (in the Annual Catalog) onto the tag using Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad.
  • Once the cut leaves are dry, sponge Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink onto each leaf.  Layer the leaves onto the tag below the sentiment using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • After adding your treats to the 3″ x 6″ cellophane bag, fold top over approximately 3/4″ and secure with a staple.  Fold 3″ x 2″ piece of Come to Gather Designer Series Paper in half and secure to the bag by using Snail Adhesive on each side of fold.  (you are sandwiching the bag top inside the Designer Series Paper)
  • Finish by adding the gift tag to the bag with Mini Stampin Dimensionals and add a Cajun Craze Linen Thread bow using a mini glue dot.

Nature’s Beauty Fun Fold

One of the projects from the recent card classes is a fun fold card featuring the Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set.  If you’ve not seen the Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set, you must check it out on page 63 in the Holiday Catalog.  It was one of the first products on my order list.  Though the stamp set contains no sentiments, it’s a set perfect for creating a variety of nature inspired card and project designs.  The wildlife animals are good to use for creating masculine theme cards too.  It gets even better.  For every set that is sold, Stampin’ Up! will donate $3 to Mental Health Organizations.

Here’s a peek at all the stamps included in the Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set…

Card Details:
  • Cajun Craze cardstock is cut 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ for base.
  • Cut a piece of Pear Pizzazz 5-1/4″ x 6-3/4″ and score at 4″.  Fold on score line to create the card.  Attach to the Cajun Craze card base with Snail Adhesive.
  • The plaid piece is from the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper and is cut 2-1/2″ x 5″. To adhere to the front card flap, use Snail Adhesive.
  • The Whisper White card interior is 5″ x 3-3/4″.  The sentiment on the card is from the Free As A Bird stamp set.  Stamp the sentiment on the lower right corner of the exposed Whisper White using Cajun Craze Classic Stamp Pad.  Then, attach to the interior of the Pear Pizzazz.
  • On a 2-1/2″ scrap of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the Bunny using Soft Suede.  To the side of the bunny, stamp the reeds using So Saffron.  Cut with the next to smallest circle in the Stitched Shapes Dies.  Use the Layering Circles Dies to cut a scallop from Cajun Craze cardstock.  Attach the bunny piece to the scallop circle with Snail Adhesive.  Then attach the entire circle to the card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Refer to photo for placement.  TIP: Be sure to add the Stampin’ Dimensionals to the top half of the circle only.
  • Complete the card by adding a bow made using the Cajun Craze Linen Thread from the Come to Gather Ribbon Combo Pack.

Also, a big shout out and thank you to Cindee Wilkinson at Just Sponge It!  The fun fold was shown on one of her projects.   So, I used her dimensions for my nature inspired card.

Bird Ballad Congratulations

Looking for a quick card?  Today’s card highlights the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and is a card that can be made quickly.  Earlier in the month, I needed cards to send to the Playtime with Paper team members in recognition of their July achievements.  This Bird Ballad Congratulations card was the result.  You’ll notice the card is not the standard rectangular shape.  Instead, the card features a square base which works perfectly with the design.  Notice too there’s very little stamping.  It’s only on the sentiment.  The beautiful prints of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper help create the card.  What’s wonderful with Stampin’ Up! designer series paper are the coordinating prints on the reversible papers. Read on for details on recreating this beautiful card.

Bird Ballad Congratulations card details:
  • Card Base: cut a 8″ x 4″ Thick Whisper White cardstock, score and fold at 4″ to create a 4″ x 4″ base.
  • Cut a 4″ x 4″ piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.
  • Using the Layering Squares Dies, position the square on the center of the designer series paper to cut the frame.  The middle of the paper cut from the frame is used for the card front.
  • Lay the frame atop the card base – TIP:  DO NOT ADHERE YET.
  • For the card center, carefully adhere center piece of the designer series paper so that it’s inside the frame.
  • Lift frame piece and use stampin’ dimensionals to add it to the card front.
  • Stamp the Congratulations from the Here’s A Card stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Cut using the Classic Label Punch.
  • Fussy cut flower pieces from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.  Attach the sentiment piece and the floral pieces to the frame using mini glue dots.
  • Finish by embellishing the flower centers with Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

NOTE:  If you have the retired Envelope Punch Board, you can make an envelope.  Or just pop the card in a Stampin’ Up! Medium envelope, it works great too!

Hoot Hoot Hooray

Have you seen the Hoot Hoot Hooray Stamp Set that is available in the Experience Creativity Brochure from Stampin’ Up!?  It’s so cute and the Hoot Hoot Hooray cards that are shown in the brochure are adorable.  The brochure contains just a few basics – kits, stamps, ink, paper and a few additional items to help you start stamping.  As a brochure, there are a less items than featured in the Annual Catalog.  Thus, it’s not as overwhelming for a someone new to stamping.  However, the stamps are great for all levels of stampers.  Check out the video below to see how easy it is to replicate the cards in the brochure using the Hoot Hoot Hooray Stamp Set.

See how easy it is to make the adorable cards?!  I recently ordered the Hoot Hoot Hooray Stamp Set and look forward to making a set of these note cards.  If you’d like all the supplies to make these note cards, you can order the Hoot Hoot Hooray Cards Bundle which has everything you need to get started.
