Jun 10, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Designer Series Paper, Free As A Bird, Note Cards, Uncategorized |
What a busy week! With the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, I held my Open House Catalog Kick-off to celebrate. Therefore, I missed my normal blogging schedule last week. The Open House Catalog Kick-off was a fulfilled afternoon. There were 20 ladies that attended the event. In addition to seeing samples using new products, there was a catalog scavenger hunt and make ‘n takes. I learned there are some very competitive people in my neighborhood! Plus, door prize drawings and a game of “guess the number of Skittles in a jar” – everyone enjoyed themselves playing games. What’s great is that I have a variety projects to share from the event for the next few weeks. Today, I’m sharing one of the make ‘n takes that guests had the opportunity to stamp and assemble.
Project details:
The note card project features the Free As A Bird Stamp Set and coordinating Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. Each attendee received the make ‘n take kit with pre-cut project materials to assemble and stamp. Top a layer of Petal Pink cardstock (4-3/4″ x 3-1/4″) with a piece of the bird cage design from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (4-1/2″ x 3″). When layering, be sure to pay attention to the direction of the bird cages. We had a few upside down birdcages. Petal Pink card stock is cut with the Stitched Shapes circle die. The 2″ circle punch is used to cut birds from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. Before assembling, stamp the sentiment onto a 5/8″ x 2-3/4″ strip of Whisper White cardstock using Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad. Using paper snips, create a flag end by cutting an inverted “v” from the tag. To complete the project, sandwich the tag between the bird layer and the stitched shapes circle. To attach to the note card, use Stampin’ Dimensionals. Lastly, tie a bow with linen thread. To attach, use mini glue dots. Also, don’t forget to stamp the envelope!

Everyone had fun making their note card. Each was slightly different since the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper has a variety of birds.
Open House highlights…
Below are a few photos from the Open House. I quickly took them before guests arrived. Unfortunately, I neglected to take a photo of my kitchen island set-up where make ‘n takes were assembled. Even worse, I forgot to take a picture of them working on their projects. It was quite a sight with 12-15 people crowded around the island working on projects and helping one another!

May 29, 2019 | 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Quick & Easy, Technique |
For a recent birthday card, the Beautiful You stamp set was selected for the design. The Live, Laugh, Love phrase and the carefree lady dancing is perfect for my friend. She is the embodiment of the Live with passion, Laugh out loud and Love deeply. Do you have such a friend? I can truly say my friend enjoys life to the fullest and her enthusiasm for life is contagious. When times are hectic, I like to think of her and smile.

Card Details:
The card base is Balmy Blue cardstock (5-1/2″ x 8-1/4″, score at 4-1/4″ for standard card size). See the coordinating ribbon? Create is by using Balmy Blue Ink Refill to color the Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Ribbon. It’s easy – add a couple of drops of the ink refill to a plastic bag, insert the ribbon and massage the bag to color the ribbon. Remove and allow to dry before using. In a hurry, use your heat tool on low to dry the ribbon. To test that the ribbon is dry, I pull it through a folded piece of paper towel. This also helps dry the ribbon and evenly disperse the ink.
The Designer Series Paper layer is retiring. Yes, of course, I am still trying to use up as much retiring paper as possible! The paper is the Garden Impressions 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack. It is cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″.
With the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Stamp the lady using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. With the Stamparatus, align the sentiment phrase in upper right corner of the card layer and stamp using the black ink. To color the lady, a selection of Stampin’ Blends were chosen. For the dress, use Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends with highlights of Light Daffodil Delight. The hat color is Daffodil Delight. For skin color, use the Ivory Stampin’ Blends and the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends color the water puddle. Attach to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Reminders:
Check the Last Chance Products List for items that are retiring on June 3. Quantities on some items are limited. Tomorrow, May 30 at 12 PM (MT), Stampin’ Up! is discounting some of the Last Chance Products up to 30%. So, be sure to check my Online Store!
Thanks for stopping by…happy stamping!
Apr 12, 2019 | 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, 3-D, Designer Series Paper, Easter, Occasions Catalog 2019, Punches |
Ready for another treat project from the All About Easter class? Today’s post, Gingham Treat Basket, highlights the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. There are various versions of this basket style on Pinterest. I do not recall where I saw the dimensions used but it’s a simple basket that is fun to embellish. I love the look of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper (DSP) and selected the Lemon Lime Twist color for the basket. To embellish the basket, the Daisy Punch was used to punch multiple daisies from the Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala DSP. The color of the Gingham Gala DSP are perfect for Spring. Keeping with the theme, a pick featuring the Fable Friends bunny with a crown of flowers adds the finishing touch.

Creating the basket:
- Score one page of the Gingham Gala at 2″ and 4″, rotate and score again at 2″ and 4″.
- On one side, cut along the score lines just to the point where the score lines intersect. Rotate paper 180° and again, cut along the score line to the point where the score lines intersect.
- Use a bone folder to burnish along the score lines.
- Cut a 1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of coordinating cardstock to use as handle.
- Form basket by pulling the cut pieces to the middle of the 4″ panel on each side and overlapping. Place handle atop the pieces and staple to secure.
- Optional: To cover the staples inside of the basket, punch a 1″ circle punch of the gingham paper and adhere with adhesive over the exposed staples.
Embellishing the Basket:
- Punch four daisies from the Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper.
- Sponge the edges of each daisy using Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pad and a sponge dauber.
- Use a bone folder to curl the daisy petals. Layer two daisies and connect with a stampin’ dimensional. Repeat with other daisy petals (embellishment is on both sides of basket)
- Create daisy center using the Bitty Blooms Punch Bundle to cut a flower from a scrap of Daffodil Delight cardstock. Attach using a mini glue dot. Add a Glitter Enamel Dot to the center.
- Cut leaves from Lemon Lime Twist and Vellum Cardstocks using the Foliage Frame Framelits Dies.
- Attach leaves to back of the daisy using mini glue dots.
- Use Stampin Dimensionals to attach a daisy to each basket side at the handle.
Making the Bunny Pick:
- Stamp the rabbit from Fable Friends Cling Stamp Set using Jet Black Stazon Ink onto Shimmery White cardstock.
- Color using an Aqua Painter, Crumb Cake and Lemon Lime Twist inks.
- Fussy cut the rabbit using paper snips.
- Create a crown of flowers by punching three Daffodil Delight flowers (two are solid cardstock and one is Gingham Gala DSP) using the Bitty Blooms Punch Bundle. Use leaf in Bitty Blooms to punch leaves.
- Attach the flowers and leaves to the rabbit using mini glue dots, slightly cupping the flowers to fit.
- Add a basic rhinestone jewel to the center of each flower.
- On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, stamp Enjoy (from Dear Doily) using the black ink. Punch with 2″ circle punch so that the word is to the left side of circle with room to add the bunny.
- Punch a 2-1/4″ circle of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock to use as base for pick. With multipurpose adhesive, glue pick to the base. (since I wanted a pick slightly longer than a regular toothpick, I shortened a four-inch bamboo skewer to approximately 2-3/4″ by breaking off a piece from the non-pointed end)
- Attach the Enjoy circle to the pick base using stampin’ dimensionals.
- Finish by adding the bunny. The treats and paper shreds help to hold pick in place.
Thanks for stopping by! I am attending OnStage in Charlotte this weekend and get a sneak peak of the upcoming Annual Catalog along with some of the new products. So be sure to check in next week as I’ll be sharing details. Have a great weekend!

Earlier this week on a Facebook Live, I highlighted maximizing your Designer Series Paper. Twelve cards can be made from one 12″ x 12″ sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP). The only scrap for the trash left after making the cuts is a 1/2″ x 1-1/2″ inch piece. The Designer Series Paper in the sample cards is Painted Seasons. This Designer Series Paper is a FREE Sale-a-Bration selection and is only available until March 31 (just a few more days!). The twelve cards and cutting guide are shown below.

Cutting Guide:

Tips for cutting:
- Use the photo as your guide and cut the vertical lines first. In the photo, the pink arrows designate the vertical cut lines.
- Cut the first vertical line at a width of 4″.
- The next vertical cut is 3″ in width.
- The final vertical cut is 3-1/2″ in width.
- After completing these cuts, you will have a 4″ x 12″ strip, a 3″ x 12″ strip, a 3-1/2″ x 12″ strip and a 1-1/2″ x 12″ strip.
- Refer to the photo and cut the strips to the appropriate sizes for the cards.

Feb 25, 2019 | Birthday, Designer Series Paper, Occasions Catalog 2019 |
Today, I am sharing a variety of sweet treats highlighting the How Sweet It Is product suite. I love the bright, colorful prints in the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper. What makes it even better is the Jar of Sweets Framelits Dies perfectly match some of the candy jar images. Plus the coordinating Sweetest Thing photopolymer stamp set offers more project options. The stamps and dies are in the Sweetest Thing Bundle.

The design inspiration for the sample cards is from the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper. Coordinating cardstock colors are used for sample cards. Each card measures is a 4″ x 4″square. The sentiments on each card are from the Sweetest Thing stamp set.

Sweet Cup
One of the fun products in the suite is the package of Sweet Cups. The sweet cups are perfect to package treats or small gifts. To cover the cup base, create a template by tracing a deconstructed cup or contact me for a template! Use cup template to cut a piece of the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper. Wrap the paper around the cup base and attach with strong adhesive. A coordinating piece of designer series paper is cut using the largest circle from the Layering Circles Dies (in the Annual Catalog).

Notice the sweet cup lid? The candy jar is standing upright. It’s easy to do. First, select the jar shape from the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper. Then cut the jar with the matching framelit from Jar of Sweets Framelits Dies. Next, cut a slit in the middle of the large circle designer series paper and slip the base of the jar into the slit. Bend the base to create a tab to hold the jar upright. Attach to the sweet cup lid using strong adhesive. To complete the embellishment, use the Sweet Pins & Tags accessory kit and Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green 3/8″ reversible ribbon to add the finishing touches.
This is a fun suite and the bright colors are wonderful for creating cheerful projects. You can place your order via my online store and be sure to contact me for the Sweet Cup template!
