Maximizing Your Designer Series Paper

Earlier this week on a Facebook Live, I highlighted maximizing your Designer Series Paper.  Twelve cards can be made from one 12″ x 12″ sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The only scrap for the trash left after making the cuts is a 1/2″ x 1-1/2″ inch piece.  The Designer Series Paper in the sample cards is Painted Seasons.  This Designer Series Paper is a FREE Sale-a-Bration selection and is only available until March 31 (just a few more days!).  The twelve cards and cutting guide are shown below.

Cutting Guide:

Tips for cutting:

  1. Use the photo as your guide and cut the vertical lines first. In the photo, the pink arrows designate the vertical cut lines.
  2. Cut the first vertical line at a width of 4″.
  3. The next vertical cut is 3″ in width.
  4. The final vertical cut is 3-1/2″ in width.
  5. After completing these cuts, you will have a 4″ x 12″ strip, a 3″ x 12″ strip, a 3-1/2″ x 12″ strip and a 1-1/2″ x 12″ strip.
  6. Refer to the photo and cut the strips to the appropriate sizes for the cards.

Summer Paradise

With Sale-a-Bration ending soon, I would like to share one of my favorite Sale-a-Bration products from the catalog.  The By the Bay stamp set is a beautiful stamp set for creating the most lovely Summer paradise cards.  Just look at the images, close your eyes and imagine the beach, the water, and the waves.  It’s a great image in our mind right?  So why not make it an image you can look at often?

Not only are the images beautiful but they are lots of fun to color.  For the card below, I used Shimmery White Cardstock for stamping the image onto and my Aqua Painter to color the image.  I find it relaxing to sit and color.  Even better is that I have never been brave enough to paint the front door of my house red, so I was able to fulfill my urge when coloring the door on the stamped image!  The colors used for this project are listed under the Project Materials.

One of the cards below that you can see in the catalog also highlights what could be a beautiful sunset.  I love the birds on the other card and soft coloring.  Nothing but serenity when you look at these images.

So did you pick up this stamp set during Sale-a-Bration?  If you didn’t, you still have time.  Visit my online store today.

Happy Stamping!

Coordinating Tea

Creating projects that have a special place in your heart is always fun.  I love the Tea Together stamp set and coordinating Tea Time Framelits with it.  Tea time with family and friends is always a special time.  Why not put those memories into your cards.  It’s even better when you can earn the Framelits from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  The stamp set is available in the Occasions Catalog.  I love that there are coordinating products you can earn for free.  You can see Chad below show you the Tea Time Framelits Dies and a few samples made with them.

The Tea Time Framelits Dies includes the nine framelits shown below.

You can visit my online store here and pick up the framelits with a qualifying order through March 31st.

Another Celebrating Birthdays!

The card today is another Celebrating Birthdays sample from the monthly class.  It is a quick and simple card.  Yet the use of the Country Floral Dynamic Texture Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF) creates a look of elegance.  The Petal Pink and Whisper White color scheme provides a soft look.  Another reminder, the Country Floral Dynamic TIEF is currently available for FREE during Sale-a-bration.  (psst – here’s a secret: the embossing folder is carrying over in the new catalog out on June 3rd but why wait and pay for it when you can get it free with a $50 order through March 31)

Below are the materials and directions for recreating the card:

Materials:

  • Petal Pink Cardstock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base); 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ square (for circle)
  • Whisper White Cardstock: cut two: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (one for card front, one for interior); 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ square (for sentiment)
  • Vellum Cardstock: 2″ x 3″
  • Special Celebrations Stamp Set
  • Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF)
  • Layering Circles Framelits
  • Leaf Punch
  • Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins
  • Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon
  • Snail Adhesive
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Mini-Glue Dots
  • Big Shot
  • Clear Block Size D

Directions:

  1. Use the Country Floral Dynamic TIEF to texture emboss one 5-1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White cardstock.  Attach to front of Petal Pink card base with adhesive.
  2. Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set on the small Whisper White cardstock square.  Cut circle using a Layering Circles Framelits Die.
  3. Cut the Petal Pink cardstock square using the next size of Layering Circles Framelits.
  4. Punch 2 sets of leaves from the Vellum cardstock using the Leaf Punch.  Sandwich the leaves between the sentiment layer and the Petal Pink cardstock circle layer.  Attach to the center of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  5. Embellish by adding Petal Pink adhesive-backed sequins and a Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon bow to complete the card front.
