Garden Lane Lotion Holder

At last month’s Luv 2 Stamp meeting, one of the make ‘n take projects included a Garden Lane Lotion Holder.  Fellow team member, Cindee Wilkinson, created the team project and selected the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper for the project.  The holder is wonderful!  A 1-oz. tube of the Bath & Body Works hand lotion fits perfectly inside of the box.  However, it is of ample size to hold other small gifts or treats.  If you participate in craft sales, this is a must project for you to add to your list!  It takes time to create and you can decorate it with a variety of tags.

Materials:

  • Garden Lane Designer Series Paper (4-1/2″ x 6″)
  • Delightful Tag Topper Punch
  • Whisper White Cardstock (scrap for tag and for 1″ circle )
  • Stitched Nested Labels Dies
  • Garden Green Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Pressed Petals Washi Tape
  • Embossing Buddy
  • 3/4″ circle punch
  • Perennial Essence Floral Center
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock (scraps for leaves)
  • Magnolia Memories Dies (for leaves dies) or use the Leaf Punch
  • Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set
  • Tags and More Accessory Kit (Copper Clip)
  • Mint Macaron 1/4″ Textile Ribbon
  • Adhesives: Tear & Tape, Mini Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals

You’ll find the directions for assembling the Garden Lane Lotion Holder on Cindee’s blog, Just Sponge It.  Just click on the link to be taken to the lotion holder instructions.

To create the tag:

Stamp the desired sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set using Garden Green Classic Stamp Pad onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (approximately 2″ x 2-1/4″).  Cut using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  Cut 2 leaves from the Mossy Meadow cardstock using the Magnolia Memory Dies.  Or, you may cut leaves using the leaf punch.  From a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, punch a 1″ circle.  Use the circle as a base for layering the Pressed Petals Washi Tape to create a flower.

TIP:  After placing the first layer of 4 petals on the circle, dust the back of the exposed petals with the Embossing Buddy to remove the stickiness.  Add next layer, and gently lift petals to apply dust from Embossing Buddy.  The petals will stay curled upwards and not stick to the bottom layer.

Complete the flower by adding a Perennial Essence Floral Center.  Add the two cut leaves to the back to the flower with mini glue dots and attach to the sentiment label using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Also use the dimensionals to attach the label to the lotion holder.  Close the lotion holder using the Copper Clip.  Tie a bow around the clip using the 1/4″ Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon.

Another Christmas in July Project

Yay! The Hallmark Christmas in July movies kickoff this Friday so I’m celebrating with another Christmas in July project.  Since the heat definitely makes it the dog days of summer, it’s wishful thinking that thoughts of Christmas in July will make it seem cooler (yes, wishful thinking!)  Today’s project again uses the Lots of Cheer Stamp Set.  Since my first Christmas in July project was a card, I decided on a small gift packaging project.  An oval label stamped with the Lots of Cheer snowman packages embellishes the Kraft Pillow Box.  The pillow boxes make great gift packaging.  They are 5″ x 3″ and a package contains 10 boxes to use for gifts and goodies.

Christmas in July gift package

Below are the steps to create this quick and simple project.
  1. Use Real Red Classic Ink Pad and a Sponge Brayer to color the Kraft pillow box.  TIP: take the ink pad and pat it directly onto the pillow box.  Then use the sponge brayer to evenly distribute the ink on the pillow box.  Allow the ink to dry on the pillow box.
  2. While the pillow box dries, make the label.  Stamp the stack of presents onto a 3-1/2″ x 3″ piece of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Cut the shape using the large oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
  3. Color the stamped image with Stampin’ Blends.  The light Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blend adds a hint of color along the outline edges of the presents.  Additional Stampin’ Blends colors on the project includes Call Me Clover (light & dark), Daffodil Delight (light & dark), Real Red (light & dark), Smoky Slate (light & dark) and Pumpkin Pie (dark).  If desired, use the Color Lifter to lighten the center area of the hat.
  4. With the Layering Ovals Dies, cut an oval from a 4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Call Me Clover cardstock.  Layer the stamped image onto the oval using Snail Adhesive.
  5. Use the Banner Triple Punch to cut an angles tail on a 1″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Then, stamp the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Attach to the back of the oval label using Snail Adhesive.
  6. Open pillow box and add gift or treats.  Close ends and wrap a piece of Call Me Clover 1/8″ grosgrain ribbon around the box.  TIP: wrap so that the ends meet under where the label is to be placed.  Use Snail Adhesive to hold the attach the end of the ribbon to the pillow box.
  7. Add the oval label to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  TIP:  Due to the curvature of the box, it’s best to add the dimensionals to the center area of the box and add the label to the dimensionals versus adding the dimensionals directly to label before adding to the pillow box.
  8. Tie a bow with the ribbon and add to top with mini-glue dot.

Easter Treat Holders

Another project from the All About Easter class earlier this week were Easter Treat Holders.  The first project holds a carrot shaped treat holder.  Last month at our team meeting, we were able to make a similar holder.  Thank you Gloria for the idea! It is a project that I knew would be perfect to include in the All About Easter class. The carrot treat containers are available at Dollar Tree and the boxes are perfect to hold the carrot erect.   Another of the treat projects is a CASE from Angie Juda.  For both projects, simply cut and score cardstock to create the holder.  Refer to the details below the photos for more details.

Don’t you agree each box is perfect for holding the Easter treats? Either of the treat holders are perfect to use as table favors.  Or just use when you want to give someone a special Easter treat.  The carrot treat holder is sized large enough that you can add a non-candy item such as nuts or a package of garden seeds.

Each box is quick and easy so you can make multiples at a time.  Simply cut the cardstock, score, cut the opening, and fold.  Add Designer Series Paper and embellish.  How Sweet It Is and Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper are used for the projects above.

Carrot Treat Box Details
  1. Start with a 2-3/4″ x 11″ piece of Pineapple Punch cardstock.  Score the cardstock at 4″, 6-1/4″, 7-1/2″ and 9-3/4″.
  2. Cut selected designer series paper to 2-3/8″ x 2-3/8 and a 2-3/8 x 1-1/8″.
  3. To create the cutout to insert carrot, use the 2″ circle punch or the layering circle dies to cut a hole in the cardstock.  The panel for the hole is between the 7`1/2″ and 9-3/4″ score lines.
  4. Attach the designer series paper as shown in the photo above.
  5. Apply Tear and Tape adhesive to the smaller end panel and seal to form box shape.
  6. Stamp the bunny and carrot onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  The stamps are from the Best Bunny Photopolymer Stamp Set in the Annual Catalog.  Highlight the bunny with the Petal Pink Stampin’ Write Marker and punch using the 1-1/2″ circle punch.  Color the carrot with the Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green Stamper Write markers.  You’ll need to fussy cut the carrot.  Use the 1-3/8″ scallop circle punch to cut Pineapple Punch cardstock. Attach  the bunny onto the scallop circle with adhesive and add the carrot using a mini-glue dot.
  7. Embellish by adding slip a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Ombre ribbon and use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the bunny scallop piece over the ribbon.

Visit Angie Juda at My Chic ‘n Scratch for details on creating the Easter Chick treat box.  I embellished her design by adding flowers using the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack from the Occasions Catalog.  The finishing touch is adding green paper shred under the chick.

NOTICE:  Stampin’ Up! announced that the Stampin’ Trimmer and accessories are retiring effective June 3, 2019.  I encourage you to order your trimmer supplies soon!

Thanks for stopping by!  I have more Easter projects to share so check back on Friday!

Heart Embellished Mini Pizza Box

Today’s project, Heart Embellished Mini Pizza Box, is a quick project that you can make for Valentine’s Day or for any time you want to share a little love with someone.  The attendees in the latest class were able to recreate the heart embellished mini pizza box for themselves. The mini pizza boxes from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog are one of my favorite to use when giving a small gift or treat to family and friends.  The ways to decorate are endless. The steps to recreate the box are below the project photo.

Heart Embellished Mini Pizza Box

Materials:
  • Mini Pizza Boxes
  • Cut the following from the All My Love Designer Series Paper (DSP): heart pattern: 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ for top, 4 pieces of 3/4″ x 3-1/4″ for sides; Belly Band coordinating pattern: 1-1/2″ x 10″
  • Lovely Lipstick Cardstock: 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″; 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
  • Small floral heart from All My Love Designer Series Paper
  • Meant to Be Cling Stamp Set
  • Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies
  • Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
  • Basic Gray Classic Stamping Pad
  • 1/8″ Whisper White Sheer Ribbon
  • Basic Rhinestone Jewels
  • Liquid Adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals
Instructions for Embellishing Mini Pizza Boxes:
  1. Assemble mini pizza box. Note – the shiny side is the box interior.
  2. Use adhesive to attach the All My Love Designer Series Paper to tops and sides of mini pizza box.
  3. Wrap the coordinating strip of Designer Series Paper around the box to create a belly band.  Tip: wrap so that it paper meets on top of box – the embellishments will cover the seam.
  4. Stamp “Just for You” on Whisper White Cardstock using Basic Gray stamp pad.  Cut with the medium scallop heart die.
  5. Cut the Lovely Lipstick cardstock.  One large narrow heart die and one with the medium scallop heart die.  Notice that the medium scallop heart die cuts both a heart and an open scalloped, stitched heart.  You will use the open scalloped, stitched heart.  (Save the small Lovely Lipstick heart for another project.)
  6. Texture emboss the large Lovely Lipstick heart using the Subtle Dynamic Texture Impressions Embossing Folder.
  7. Use the small heart die to cut the small floral heart from the All My Love Designer Series Paper.
  8. Refer to photo for placement of the hearts.  NOTE: Be sure that you only put adhesive on areas that will attach to the belly band.
  9. The sentiment heart is attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  10. Embellish with rhinestones and small Whisper White bow.

While grocery shopping, I saw individual packages of Pepperidge Farms Chessmen Cookies.   The packages fit perfectly in the boxes!Mini Pizza Box with heart embellishment and cookie treats
