Tulip Gift Bag with Coordinating Tag

In this month’s class, one of the projects created is a Tulip Gift Bag and coordinating tag.  I love it when there is a designer series paper that coordinates with a stamp set and either dies or as with the Timeless Tulips Bundle, a punch.  The bag uses the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper, which is from of the Coordination Product Release.  The paper is wonderful as it coordinates with multiple stamp bundles.  Naturally, the small gift bag needs a coordinating tag.  The Timeless Tulips stamp set and the tag die from the Bonanza Dies combine to create a perfect gift tag.  Details for creating both are below the project’s photo.

Tulip Gift Bag and Tag

Creating the Tulip Gift Bag:
  1. From the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper, cut the tulip paper 6″ x 8″.  Be sure to pay attention to the direction of the tulips.
  2. On the 8″ side score at 2-1/2″, 3-3/4″, 6-1/4″ and 7-1/2″.  Rotate 90° (make sure that the tulips are facing toward the right) and score at 1-1/4″.
  3. Fold along score lines and trim along score lines up to the 1-1/4″ score line.  Cut and remove the 1/2″ tab. See the photo below – dotted lines are score lines:
  4. Add Tear & Tape Adhesive to the 1/2″ tab, fold over to close the side creating the bag.
  5. Fold in bottom flaps and seal.  Be sure the small flaps are folded in first and then overlap with the larger flaps.
  6. Pinch together and use a Mini Library Clip to seal.
For the coordinating tag:
  1. With the tag die from the Bonanza Dies to cut a 2-1/2″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.
  2. Using the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set, stamp two small tulips with Calypso Coral Classic Stampin’ Pad at the top of the tag. (refer to project photo above for placement)  Stamp the large tulip with the same color onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Cut with the coordinating Tulip Builder Punch.
  3. Stamp three stems using Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pad.
  4. Add the large tulip onto the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals, slightly overlap the smaller tulips.
  5. Use the Tulip Builder Punch to cut a leaf from a scrap of the reverse side (green pattern) of the Pleased As Punch designer series paper.  Adhere to tag under the large tulip with a mini glue dot.
  6. Stamp the sentiment with the Calypso Coral onto a 3″ x 1-1/4″ piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock.  Cut using the shape using the Ornate Frames Dies.  Attach to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. Tie a knot bow using 6″ of Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon.  Complete the tag attaching the bow below the large tulip using a mini glue dot.

What did we put in the gift bag? A wrapped Rice Krispies Treat Bar!  It fit perfectly.  Be sure to comment below and let me know what you plan to place in your gift bag.

A full list of the project materials is at the bottom of this post. Remember the Coordination Product Release products are only available through the end of this month.  So you’ll want to order the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper soon!  It’s also while supplies last.

It’s a Tropical Theme

Today, it’s a Tropical Theme!  In an earlier post,  you saw a birthday card featuring the Tropical Oasis Suite.  I’m loving the suite!  The vibrancy and retro look of the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper definitely adds island cheer to projects.  The pineapple from In The Tropic Dies is perfect for adding to treat packaging, as well as, cards.  The two projects below were sent to Playtime with Paper team members in recognition of outstanding performance.  The Pineapple Box is a CASE from Cindee Wilkinson with dimension changes to fit the gift item.  To color the pineapple, I opted to sponge on color versus using the pigment sprinkles.   The congratulatory note card features the Timeless Tropical Bundle and the coordinating Designer Series Paper.

Team Gifts

For creating the note cards:

Use a Whisper White note card from the Note Card and Envelopes available in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  Select the coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) you wish to use, cut and attach to front of the note card.  Notice how I covered the entire front of the card.  The floral DSP is cut at 1-1/2: x 5″ and the green DSP is 2″ x 5″.  To cover the paper seam, use a strip of the 5/16″ Braided Burlap Trim.   For the sentiment (from Peaceful Moments Stamp Set), a sticker from the Tropcial Oasis Memories and More Card Pack is the perfect size to use.  Use the Timeless Tropical Bundle to stamp the flower and cut with the coordinating dies.  The flower to coordinate with the Designer Series Paper is stamped with Real Red ink and colored using the Daffodil Delights Stampin’ Blends.  With the leaf die, cut two leaves from Old Olive cardstock.  Layer onto card by sentiment and add a Champagne Rhinestone as final embellishment.

Yes, it’s winter but doesn’t this bundle make you think of warmth and tropical paradise?!  If you’d like to create with a tropical flair, you can order products needed below.

Celebrating Birthdays with Monthly 3D Tutorial Bundle

Welcome to February! Today, the team is celebrating birthdays with a blog hop!  In addition to the blog hop, the  3D Tutorial Bundle is available.  We’re each sharing a project created using the same stamp set or bundle that has been used in our Tutorial Bundle Project.  The theme for this month is celebrating birthdays.

The projects designed for the 3D tutorial bundle aren’t available elsewhere online.  Therefore, you’ll receive EXCLUSIVE projects in the tutorial bundle.  In addition, you’ll receive both Imperial and Metric project measurements.

Check out the amazing line up of project designers. Yes, they are pretty amazing and talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!

Now for a Sneak Peek of the projects…

Since we’re celebrating birthdays, a birthday card design to coordinate with my 3D project design is needed.  The card uses the Peaceful Poppies Suite which includes the Painted Poppies Bundle and the Peaceful Moments Bundle.  Also, featured is the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.  I choose to use a special fold by using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies to create a closure flap.

Card Details:
  • Blackberry Bliss cardstock: card base  5-1/2″ x 7″ score at 4-1/4″; 5″ x 3″ for panel overlay; 2-1/4″ square for poppy
  • Whisper White cardstock: 4″ x 5-1/4″ for inside panel; 2-3/4″ x 4-1/2″ for panel overlay layer
  • Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper: 5-1/4″ x 2-1/2″ for front card panel; 5-1/4″ x 1-1/2″ for inside card panel; 2-1/4″ square for poppy
  • Attach Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper to the card front and the card interior.
  • Stamp interior sentiment using Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Pad.  Additionally, stamp a poppy with Blackberry Bliss and Memento Tuxedo Black ink to the interior panel.
  • With the 2nd largest Stitched Nested Labels Die, cut the Blackberry Bliss cardstock panel overlay.  Score one side of the panel where the “flag” end starts.  Adhere along the score line and fold flap to the interior Whisper White cardstock panel. (refer to photos below)
  • Using the 3rd largest Stitched Nested Labels Die, cut the Whisper White panel overlay layer.  Cut and remove one “flag” end.  Referring to the card photo for placement, stamp the sentiment using Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Pad.  Attach to the Blackberry Bliss panel overlay. (refer to photos below)
  • Cut the poppy components from the Blackberry Bliss and the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper using the Peaceful Moments dies.
  • Cut two leaves from Old Olive cardstock and two leaves from Vellum cardstock using the Peaceful Moments Dies.  Use a splatter stamp from the Painted Poppies Stamp set and Old Olive Stampin’ Pad to add dimension to the Old Olive leaves.
  • Layer leaves and Poppy on the Whisper White panel beside the sentiment.
  • Use Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blend to color three Basic Rhinestone Jewels and a 6″ strip of Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.   When dry, add rhinestones and a small bow to the card front.

Lily Impressions 3-D Project

This past Saturday, my upline, Gloria Plunkett hosted the Luv 2 Stampin GA team meeting.  During our meetings, we are able to spend time making various projects.  So today I am sharing a Lily Impressions 3-D project designed by Gloria for the team.   This special 3-D project is a small wreath that is the perfect size to hang by your desk or in a work cubicle.  Mine is going to hang in craft room by my work desk.  The project features the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper.  This beautiful Lily Impressions is available in the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  With a purchase of $50 (before shipping & taxes), you can select  FREE.

Project Details:

To begin, use a 4″ Styrofoam wreath as the base.  Next, Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper is cut into strips and wrapped around the wreath.  When wrapping the strips, overlap the end of each strip and glue matching the ends of the Designer Series Paper strip.  Before wrapping the strips, cut a “v” in both ends of the paper strips.  TIP: When adding the strips, slightly overlap to cover the Styrofoam wreath.  For embellishing the wreath, use the Starburst Punch to cut a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock.  Cut a stitched circle from Whisper White cardstock using the Stitched Shapes Dies.  Then, top with your initial cut from Melon Mambo cardstock using the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies.  NOTE: Cut three initials and layer to add dimension.  With the Sprig punch, cut two sprigs from  Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  Sandwich the sprigs between the Whisper White stitched circle and the Pretty Peacock cardstock.  Attach the circle to the middle of the wreath by using Multipurpose Liquid Glue along the edge of the cardstock circle.  Finish by adding a Whisper White Polka Dot ribbon bow on the front.  Glue a small ribbon circle on the back to use for hanging.

Isn’t this a cute wreath?  What’s great is you can create your own unique wreath by selecting other coordinating colors for the embellishment.  For a larger Styrofoam wreath, just adjust the length and width of the strips from the Designer Series Paper you select.

Thank you stopping by!

Simple Easter Treat Holder

Since Easter is quickly approaching, I want to share a simple Easter Treat Holder that you can make last minute.  This is the final project from this month’s class.  Don’t you think it’s perfect to highlight the bunny’s face on the Hershey’s Easter Candy?  What’s great about the project is you can easily alter it to hold any small, flat candy bar.

Simple Easy Treat Holder

The treat holders feature the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper.  Use the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack to embellish with flowers.  Below are details on recreating the project.

Project Materials:
  • Granny Apple Green Cardstock: 9-1/2″ x 2″ score at 4-1/2″ & 5″ and one piece 3-1/2″ x 1″ score at 1/4″ on each side then cut in half at 1-3/4″ so you will have 2 pieces 1-3/4″ x 1″
  • Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper: 1-7/8″ x 4-3/8″
  • Cardstock to match Designer Series Paper: 2″ x 3″
  • Scraps of Whisper White for sentiment and desired colors to punch small flower embellishments.  The colors used above are Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel, Daffodil Delight & Grapefruit Grove.
  • Detailed Trio Punch
  • Best Bunny Photopolymer Stamp Set for Surprise! sentiment
  • Itty Bitty Greetings Clear Mount Stamp Set for Easter Greetings sentiment
  • Layering Ovals Framelits Dies (counting from smallest die to largest the following dies are used: 1, 3, & 4
  • Classic Label Punch for Easter Greetings Sentiment
  • Garden Green Classic Stamp Pad
  • Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins
  • Pearl Basic Jewels
  • 1/8″ Sheer Whisper White Ribbon
  • Adhesives: Snail, Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and Mini-Glue Dots
  • Take Your Pick Tool

Earlier today, I did a short Facebook Live Video demonstrating the project assembly.  You can locate it here.  Remember, you can easily adjust the dimensions and use for other treats.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy making these simple Easter treat holders!   Comments are welcomed!!!

Gingham Treat Basket

Ready for another treat project from the All About Easter class?  Today’s post, Gingham Treat Basket, highlights the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.  There are various versions of this basket style on Pinterest.  I do not recall where I saw the dimensions used but it’s a simple basket that is fun to embellish.  I love the look of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper (DSP) and selected the Lemon Lime Twist color for the basket.  To embellish the basket, the Daisy Punch was used to punch multiple daisies from the Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala DSP.  The color of the Gingham Gala DSP are perfect for Spring.  Keeping with the theme, a pick featuring the Fable Friends bunny with a crown of flowers adds the finishing touch.

Creating the basket:
  1. Score one page of the Gingham Gala at 2″ and 4″, rotate and score again at 2″ and 4″.
  2. On one side, cut along the score lines just to the point where the score lines intersect.  Rotate paper 180° and again, cut along the score line to the point where the score lines intersect.
  3. Use a bone folder to burnish along the score lines.
  4. Cut a 1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of coordinating cardstock to use as handle.
  5. Form basket by pulling the cut pieces to the middle of the 4″ panel on each side and overlapping. Place handle atop the pieces and staple to secure.
  6. Optional: To cover the staples inside of the basket, punch a  1″ circle punch of the gingham paper and adhere with adhesive over the exposed staples.
Embellishing the Basket:
  1. Punch four daisies from the Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper.
  2. Sponge the edges of each daisy using Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pad and a sponge dauber.
  3. Use a bone folder to curl the daisy petals.  Layer two daisies and connect with a stampin’ dimensional. Repeat with other daisy petals (embellishment is on both sides of basket)
  4. Create daisy center using the Bitty Blooms Punch Bundle to cut a flower from a scrap of Daffodil Delight cardstock.  Attach using a mini glue dot.  Add a Glitter Enamel Dot to the center.
  5. Cut leaves from Lemon Lime Twist and Vellum Cardstocks using the Foliage Frame Framelits Dies.
  6. Attach leaves to back of the daisy using mini glue dots.
  7. Use Stampin Dimensionals to attach a daisy to each basket side at the handle.
Making the Bunny Pick:
  1. Stamp the rabbit from Fable Friends Cling Stamp Set using Jet Black Stazon Ink onto Shimmery White cardstock.
  2. Color using an Aqua Painter, Crumb Cake and Lemon Lime Twist inks.
  3. Fussy cut the rabbit using paper snips.
  4. Create a crown of flowers by punching three Daffodil Delight flowers (two are solid cardstock and one is Gingham Gala DSP) using the Bitty Blooms Punch Bundle.  Use leaf in Bitty Blooms to punch leaves.
  5. Attach the flowers and leaves to the rabbit using mini glue dots, slightly cupping the flowers to fit.
  6. Add a basic rhinestone jewel to the center of each flower.
  7. On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, stamp Enjoy (from Dear Doily) using the black ink.  Punch with 2″ circle punch so that the word is to the left side of circle with room to add the bunny.
  8. Punch a 2-1/4″ circle of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock to use as base for pick.  With multipurpose adhesive, glue pick to the base. (since I wanted a pick slightly longer than a regular toothpick, I shortened a four-inch bamboo skewer to approximately 2-3/4″ by breaking off a piece from the non-pointed end)
  9. Attach the Enjoy circle to the pick base using stampin’ dimensionals.
  10. Finish by adding the bunny. The treats and paper shreds help to hold pick in place.

Thanks for stopping by!  I am attending OnStage in Charlotte this weekend and get a sneak peak of the upcoming Annual Catalog along with some of the new products.   So be sure to check in next week as I’ll be sharing details.  Have a great weekend!
