Embellished Copper Tea Tin

It’s hard to believe that it’s December already.  Since Thanksgiving was later this year, it seems Christmas will be here in a flash.  I spent the weekend putting up a few holiday decorations and decided that this year, I would scale back in comparison to past years.  What’s great is the decorating is complete.  I can now relax and enjoy the holiday touches.

That brings me to today’s project, an embellished Copper Tea Tin.  Have you seen the Copper Tea Tins in the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog?  You can find them on page 173.  Four tins come in the package.  The tins are perfect for embellishing and for creating a quick gift.  I plan to fill the tea tins with small cookies and candies for holiday gifting.   A huge thank you to Patty Bennett for the inspiration!  For this tin, the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper creates the backdrop for the embellishing.  However, this particular Designer Series Paper is no longer available.  If you do not have this particular paper, no worries as next week I’ll provide alternatives for embellishing the Copper Tea Tin.

Details for embellishing the Copper Tea Tin:
  • Wrap a piece of 3″ x 12″ of Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper around the Copper Tea Tin, secure with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
  • Cut a coordinating piece of the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper, 2″ x 12″ and wrap it around the first layer of Designer Series Paper.
  • Color the 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon using the Dark Pretty Peacock Blends.  Set aside to dry for a few minutes while working on other project elements.
  • Using the Stitched Stars Dies, cut a star from Very Vanilla cardstock.  Layer a large star from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements on top.  TIP: use a glue dot in the center of the star to attach it to the Very Vanilla.
  • On Whisper White cardstock, stamp the holly from the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set using Mossy Meadow Classic Ink Pad.  Use a Blender Pen to pull the ink from the stamped image and color the holly leaves.  Fussy cut using Paper Snips.
  • For the berries, use Night of Navy Classic Ink Pad to stamp another holly.  Again, use a Blender Pen to pull the ink from the stamped lines to color the berries.  Fussy cut the berries and add to the holly leaves with Mini Glue Dots.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Tiny Keepsakes stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock using Night of Navy Classic Ink Pad.  Cut with the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies.
  • Assemble layers:  first wrap the Classic Weave ribbon around the tin and tie on side in a knot.  Add the star using Tear & Tape adhesive.  Next add the sentiment tag and the Holly onto the star using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Complete by embellishing with Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

The tin is now ready to be filled with goodies!

Wrapped In Plaid 3-D Gift Tag

Ready for another another embellished store bought item?  While shopping recently, I spied a set of plaid Christmas tree dish towels.  Immediately, I thought of the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper (DSP) and how easy it would be to create a coordinating gift tag for the dishtowels.  Okay, I know you’re thinking that I must be crazy when shopping to think of things that coordinate with Stampin’ Up! products.  Maybe I am just a bit but you have to admit, the dishtowels coordinate perfectly with the Wrapped in Plaid DSP.  The Pine Tree Punch and the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set were also used.  Save 10% by purchasing the punch and stamp set as a bundle. By creating a Wrapped in Plaid 3-D Gift Tag, the dishtowel has become a simple, inexpensive gift to present during this season of giving.

Steps to make a Wrapped in Plaid 3-D Gift Tag:
  • Create a tag base using 2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Real Red cardstock.  Punch one end with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch.  Round the corners on the bottom of the tag with the Detailed Trio Punch.
  • Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 3-1/4″ x 1-3/4″.  Use the Detailed Trio Punch, to round the four corners.  Stamp HO HO HO from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set onto the bottom section of the Whisper White cardstock panel using Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad.  Attach to the tag base using Snail Adhesive. If desired, cut another piece of the Whisper White cardstock to add to the back of the tag and stamp with a To/From stamp.
  • Use the Pine Tree Punch to cut 3 trees from the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper.  TIP:  punch two from the “front” side of the paper and one from the “back or reverse” side.  By doing this, the trees will align properly.  Score down the center of each of the punched pine trees and fold.  Attach one side of each of the trees to one another using multipurpose liquid adhesive.  Be sure to align the tree branches so they match.  After creating the tree, attach to the tag above the HO HO HO.  Embellish tree top with a Red Rhinestone.  See photos below on how to punch and assemble.

  • If you are using the tag to embellish a dish towel, tie around towel using the Real Red 1″ Ruched Ribbon.  Tie three Jingle Bells together with Whisper White Baker’s Twine and wrap around knot of the ribbon bow.

When shopping, look for some dishtowels to embellish as a quick and easy gift.  I found the towel for this project at TJ Maxx and the dishtowel came in a package of two towels.

Embellished Ghiradelli Snowman Peppermints

Do you like quick and easy gift ideas?  I do!  When shopping, I am always on the search for items that coordinate with Stampin’ Up! products.  Finding products that coordinate make it easy to create embellishments for dressing up an inexpensive gift.  One such item I spied recently are the Ghiradelli Snowman Peppermints.  The packaging and themed peppermints coordinate perfectly with the Let It Snow Suite in the 2019 Holiday Catalog.  The Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Snowman Builder Punch combine with the Let It Snow Embellishment Kit to create a snowman tag for the package.  With a few other touches, the embellished Ghiradelli Snowman Peppermints became a quick gift to have on hand for the holidays.  Details for creating the tag is below the photo.

How to create the Snowman Tag:
  1. With the Snowman Builder punch, cut the snowman from the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).
  2. Create a base for the snowman from Real Red cardstock using the Pretty Label punch.
  3. Cut a 2-inch strip of the silver white dot paper from the Feels Like Frost DSP.  Use Triple Banner Punch on one end of the paper to create the tag.  Fold approximately 1-1/2″ over the top of the Ghiradelli Snowman Peppermint bag and adhere with Snail Adhesive.
  4. Use the Christmas Layers Dies to cut a piece the connected snowflakes from Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  Attach to the Feels Like Frost tag using snail adhesive.  TIP: Place Snail adhesive only in the area where the Pretty Label Punch will be placed.  The adhesive will be covered so you won’t see it through the snowflakes on the finished tag.
  5. Stamp the Just for You sentiment from the #Elfie stamp set using Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Use 1″ circle punch to cut the sentiment.
  6. Referring to photo above for placement, layer the sentiment and the snowman onto the Real Red Pretty Label.  The snowman is attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Embellish the snowman using the Let It Snow Embellishment Kit and randomly add Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the label base.  Attach to the tag over the glimmer paper snowflakes using Snail adhesive.
  7. Complete by wrapping Real Red 1/8″ Curly Ribbon around the package twice and tie into a bow.

The Embellished Ghiradelli Snowman Peppermints are now ready for gift giving!  Ghiradelli also has small packages of the Snowman Peppermints so you could add just a snowman and sentiment when you want to give someone “just a little something”.

Pack & Play Craft Escape

Hi everyone!  I’ve been MIA the past two weeks and am finally am catching up.  Seems time literally flies!  Last weekend, Stampin’ Up! hosted OnStage events for demonstrators.  Basically it’s mini-conventions held in various locations.  One of the highlights of the event is the release of the January-June mini catalog.  I’ll be sharing projects from it starting in a couple of weeks.

For me, the Atlanta event location was close so prior the official Stampin’ Up! event, I hosted a one-day Pack & Play Craft Escape for 60 demonstrators. As it was a large undertaken, Joni, one of my Playtime with Paper team members, co-hosted with me.  Plus several other team members were able to help assemble the make ‘n take kits prior to the event.  The event was definitely worth the extra effort and teamwork as the day was a blast!  The Pack & Play Craft Escape provided attendees with eight make ‘n takes.  In addition, three guest speakers offered training and additional project ideas.

Below is a photo of the make ‘n takes.

If you would like detailed instructions on making these projects, I have a tutorial available for you to purchase.  It includes instructions for 2 cards, 2 gift cards, a wine tag, a hand sanitizer holder, a 3-D mini cup and an embellished Baker’s Box.  The cost for the PDF tutorial is $15.00 (US).  Email me at creativestampingwithMargaret@gmail.com to purchase the tutorial and I will send you the PayPal payment link.  Once payment is received, I’ll email you the PDFs.

Or if you’d like to receive the tutorial for FREE, place an online order for $50 or more between now and December 10th.  The order must be placed through my online store. When I receive confirmation of your order, I will email you the tutorial.  This is a $15.00 value.

Below are a few photos from the Pack & Play Craft Escape.

It was a fun filled day and I look forward to hosting another Pack & Play Craft Escape!

Thanks for stopping by.  I’m back on schedule and will be posting project ideas again this week so check in again.

Harvest Hellos Gift Tag

For today, I’m taking a break from Christmas theme projects and sharing a Harvest Hellos Gift Tag.  For recent team gifts, members received a Bath & Body Works hand soap.  The apple in the Harvest Hellos Stamp Set along with the Apple Builder Punch coordinate perfectly with the Afternoon Apple Picking label.  Don’t you just love it when store bought items coordinate with your stamps and dies?  Both of the items can be purchased in the Harvest Hellos Bundle for a 10% savings.  For the colorful background leaves, the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper is cut with the Gathered Leaves Dies provides perfect Fall leaves.

Here’s a close-up of the gift tag:

Steps to create the Harvest Hellos Gift Tag:
  • First, create a tag base using a 3-1/2″ x 2″ piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock and the Delightful Tag Topper Punch or the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
  • From the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper. select the desired colors.  Then, cut one large leaf, two medium leaves and one small leaf from the designer series paper using the Gathered Leaves Dies.  Also, use the dies to cut a medium size, solid leaf from a scrap of Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • From the Harvest Hellos Stamp Set, stamp the apple using Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  Punch the apple shape using the Apple Builder Punch and punch a stem from a scrap of Early Espresso cardstock.  Attach the stem to the apple using a mini glue dot.
  • Notice the small leaves around the apple stem?  One small leaf was cut from an Old Olive Foil Sheet found in the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets.  After cutting the leaf with the Gathered Leaves Dies, 2 portions were cut to use around the apple stem.  Attach to the apple using mini glue dots.
  • To stamp the sentiment, use the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp set and Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin’ Pad to stamp onto a 1/2″ x 2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.  After stamping, cut an inverse “v” to create the flag end.
  • Next, layer the leaf elements onto the Crushed Curry Tag base.  When you are satisfied with the placement, attach to the tag base using Snail adhesive.  Add sentiment to apple.  Then, add the apple atop the leaves using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • To complete the tag, attach a Linen Thread bow.  For attaching to the gift, use Braided Linen Trim.
Hope you enjoyed this gift tag project.  Tip:  When making tags, it’s the perfect time to use your scrap papers.
Thanks for stopping by and check back soon for more inspiration.  Happy crafting…

Brightly Gleaming Merry Christmas

Have you noticed that I am now in full on Christmas mode?!  The past couple of weeks, I have been enjoying creating a variety of Christmas themed cards and projects.  Don’t worry though, I still have some Fall theme projects to share with you before the full force of Christmas arrives after Thanksgiving.  Today’s post, Brightly Gleaming Merry Christmas, is another make ‘n take card from Stamping Bingo.  The card elements include the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Christmas Gleaming Bundle from the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog.  The elements from the Brightly Gleaming Suite are elegant and gorgeous.  It is easy to create simple but beautiful projects with the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper and accompanying embellishments.  That’s the case with the Brightly Gleaming Merry Christmas Card.

Brightly Gleaming Product SuiteSuite

Card Details:
  • For the card base, cut Pretty Peacock cardstock at 4-1-4″ x 11″,  score at 5-1/2″ and fold on score line.
  • The second layer is Very Vanilla cardstock, cut 4″ x 5-1/4″.  To add texture, emboss with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  Attach to the card base with adhesive.
  • Cut a 3″ x 4-1/4″ piece of the stripe design from the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Using a strong adhesive, attach to the center of the Very Vanilla cardstock layer.
  • Then use the ornament punch to cut an ornament shape from a coordinating piece of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Attach to a stitched oval cut from Very Vanilla cardstock using the Stitched Shapes Dies.  Layer onto a Pretty Peacock cardstock scallop oval cut using the Layering Ovals Dies.   Center onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • For the sentiment, stamp the Merry Christmas from the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock using Pretty Peacock Classic Stampin’ Pad.  Using paper snips, cut the around the perimeter of the sentiment.  Refer to card photo for placement onto the card.
  • To finish the card, embellish with the sprigs from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements.  For the final embellishment, add a bow using the Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon.

Also, don’t forget to embellish the card interior…

Hope you enjoyed this project.  Thanks for stopping by and check back soon for more inspiration.  Happy crafting…
