Sail Into Summer

Yes, summer has officially arrived. Paper Pumpkin is celebrating Sail Into Summer with the July kit, On My Mind.  The July kit will also coordinate with three different suites from the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog.  This will enable you to make lots of projects.  The coordinating suites include Woven Threads, Garden Lane and Come Sail Away.  With the coordinating suites, you can “step up” the Paper Pumpkin Sail Into Summer kit.  However do not feel it’s necessary, the Paper Pumpkin kits are great project kits alone.

In addition to product coordination, the On My Mind kit contains the following:

  • Coordinating colors in Gold, Kraft, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Pretty Peacock, Sahara Sand, Seaside Spray, and Terracotta Tile
  • Nine mailable cards with envelopes (3 of 3 different designs)

Remember, you must have an active Paper Pumpkin subscription by July 10, 2019 to receive the kit.  You can register here.  Don’t hesitate, product availability may be limited near the end of the promotion.

Make sure to purchase the both the July Paper Pumpkin kit and products from the coordinating bundle suites to create alternative products.  It’s a great way to get “more bang for your buck”.  Upon the release of the Paper Pumpkin kit,  Stampin’ Up! will reveal alternate projects that you can make.  Of course, you can also create alternate projects yourself.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Simple Stamping with Daisy Lane

The final make ‘n take card from the Open House utilizes simple stamping with the Daisy Lane Bundle.  Since the group was large, it was necessary to have projects without a lot of detail and that would be appropriate for all stamping levels.  The Daisy Lane stamp set and coordinating Medium Daisy Punch were perfect!  Instead of layering cardstock for a card base, the Gold Foil-Edged Cards and Envelopes are used.  The foil edge adds pizzazz to the project.

Card Details:
  1. Stamp the flower stems directly onto the Gold Foil-Edged Card using Granny Apple Green Classic Ink Pad.
  2. Use Melon Mambo Classic Ink Pad to stamp 4 medium daisy petal flowers onto Whisper White cardstock.  With the Medium Daisy Punch, punch the stamped daisy flowers.
  3. To create the flowers, layer one daisy atop the other.  Turn the top daisy so that the petals fill the gap in the petals of the bottom daisy.  Attach the top daisy to the bottom daisy using mini glue dots.
  4.  Attach the daisies to the stamped flower stems using mini-glue dots.  Place one of the daisies slightly lower on the stem as seen in the card photo.
  5. Embellish the daisy centers with a Perennial Essence Floral Centers.
  6. For the sentiment, stamp using Melon Mambo Classic Ink Pad onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut using the 1-1/2″ circle punch.
  7. Punch a 2-1/2″ x 2″ piece of Melon Mambo cardstock using the Story Label punch.  Layer the circle with sentiment onto the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Attach to card front with Snail Adhesive.

Attendees new to stamping had fun creating this card.  Next week, I will show you how to “step up” this basic card design.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Time to Set Sail

It’s time to set sail!  One of the samples displayed at the Open House features the Sailing Home bundle which includes the Sailing Home Stamp Set and matching Smooth Sailing Dies.  In addition, the coordinating Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper and Sail Away Trinkets complete the card. One of my favorite sayings in the stamp set is highlighted on the card sample.  The sentiment is perfect for a recent graduate or for anyone starting an new adventure.  The saying is a reminder that it is time to set sail and follow your dreams!  Also,The Sailing Home Bundle is a perfect for creating masculine themed cards.

Card Details:
  • Card Base:  Night of Navy cardstock (4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″ for top fold card); 1-3/4″ x 3-3/4″; small scrap to die cut rope
  • Whisper White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ – cut 2 – one for front layer and one for interior; 1-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ for sentiment; scrap to stamp and cut sailboat
  • Designer Series Paper: 3-3/4″ x 5″
  1.  With Night of Navy Classic Ink Pad, stamp sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock strip.  Refer to photo of card for placement.
  2. Stamp the sailboat onto scrap of Whisper White cardstock with the Night of Navy Classic Ink Pad.  Use coordinating sailboat die to cut the sailboat.
  3. Use rope die to cut the rope from a scrap of Night of Navy cardstock.
  4. Assemble card layers using Snail Adhesive.
  5. Attach sailboat to side of sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Embellish by using mini glue dots to add the die cut rope and the boat steering wheel from the Sail Away Trinkets.

We Have Cows!

Yes, in the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, we have cows!  The Over the Moon stamp set will have you smiling.  The set is so darn cute, you can’t help but be happy.  I have had lots of fun using the set.  For the open house, I made a couple of cards and a tag to attach to a mini-milk carton filled with milk duds.

Card #1 Details:

In addition to highlighting the Over the Moon stamp set on this first card, it also features the new In-Color Terracotta Tile.  The card base is Terracotta Tile cardstock with a layer of Whisper White cardstock.  The top layer is the coordinating gingham check from the 2019-2021 In-Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Pack.  A strip of coordinating Terracotta Tile Scalloped Linen Ribbon tucked below the cow layer adds that “little extra something”.  Stamp the cow onto Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and color with Stampin’ Blends.  The colors on the cow’s spots below are Smoky Slate Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends with a touch of Light Basic Black Stampin’ Blends.  To create the shadow effect, use the light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.  The Ivory Stampin’ Blend highlights the nostrils of the cow.  Stamp the sentiment with the Terracotta Tile Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad.  Lastly, cut the shape using the large circle Stitched Shapes Die.   Doesn’t this cow make you smile?

Over the Moon Stamp Set featuring Dream Big and Terracotta Tile In-Color

Card #2 Details:

For the second card, one of the new Scalloped Note Cards creates the card base along with another of the Over the Moon stamps.  The Scalloped Note Cards and coordinating envelopes help simplify card making.  The set contains 5 each of four colors: Balmy Blue, Old Olive, Light Pink and Terracotta Tile.  To recreate the card below, stamp the cow onto Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Color using the cow spots using the Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends.  Complete the coloring using Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends for the boots, Old Olive for the leaves and Daffodil Delight for the daisy center.  Oh don’t forget, color the cow’s horns and nostrils using the Ivory Stampin’ Blends.  Cut using the Layering Ovals Dies.  Finish by stamping the sentiment onto a strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock and tying a bow with Whisper White Baker’s Twine.

Stampin' Up! Over the Moon stamp set and Scalloped Note Card

Last but not least…

are the milk cartons with the cow tag.  Talk about a fun project!  Several of the items for this project are retired product but the cows just scream to be added to a milk carton!  The milk cartons are cut using a retired Milk Carton die but you can find ready cut milk cartons available on Amazon.  The clothes pins to hold the tag are also retired but the new Mini Library Clips would work wonderfully.  Of course, I forgot to add them to my order!   The Love What You Do stamp set has the perfect stamps to create the “cow spots” on the milk carton!  The cow was colored as in card #2 and cut using the 2″ circle punch.  The Starburst Punch creates the base of either Terracotta Tile or Pretty Peacock cardstock which showcases the cow.  All attendees at the Open House were able to take a milk carton home with them.

I hope these cows make you smile too!  Be sure to order the Over the Moon stamp set and have fun creating a variety of projects.  Contact me (CreativestampingwithMargaret@gmail.com) if you need assistance placing your order.
