Jul 12, 2019 | 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, Birthday, Masculine, Stampin' Blends |
Today is my husband’s birthday so I decided to use the On to Adventure stamp set stamp set to create his birthday card. Since his retirement, he spends several days a week playing golf. So when I saw the On To Adventure stamp set, I knew the golfer would get lots of use. The Well Written Dies provide the birthday greeting and help keep the focus on the golfer. If you’ve not seen the set, be sure to check it out in the Annual Catalog on page 28. In addition to the golfer, there are three other stamps that can be combined with other sets to create fun cards. And the Well Written dies provide a variety of sentiment options.

Card Details:
- Night of Navy cardstock (8-1/2″ x 5-12″, scored & folded at 4-1/4″) creates the card base.
- A 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper is the second layer.
- Card front layer is Whisper White cardstock (3-3/4″ x 5″).
- With Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp the golfer onto a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Color, as desired, with Stampin’ Blends. The Stampin’ Blends colors used for this card are Ivory, Dark Night of Navy, Dark Balmy Blue, Light Granny Apple Green, Light Smoky Slate, Light and Dark Crumb Cake. Cut using the medium circle in the Stitched Shapes Dies. With Snail Adhesive, layer onto a Night of Navy cardstock circle cut using the Layering Circles Dies.
- Cut sentiment from of Night of Navy cardstock using the Well Written Dies. To adhere to the card front, lightly sponge Multipurpose Liquid Glue onto the back of each word and place on the card front. TIP: use a sponge dauber. Rinse after use then label the dauber to use specifically for applying liquid glue.
- Crisscross Braided Linen trim across upper portion of card. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the golfer to the card over the crisscross.
Be sure to check out all of the stamps in the On To Adventure stamp set. The stamp designs with the shaded areas make coloring easy to do.

Jul 8, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Floral |
Have you looked closely at the beautiful Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper (pages 118-120 & 167) in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog? It is a designer paper that is much more beautiful when you actually see and feel it. I know when I first saw the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper in the catalog, I was not wowed. That certainly changed when I was able to see and feel the paper. The paper is a heavy weight paper that includes shiny, slightly embossed features on some of the pages. This makes the beautiful images “pop”. With the shiny, embossed features, the images such as the hummingbirds or flowers, are easy to fussy cut. Additionally, the specialty paper includes great designs to use as background layers. For the card below, the sentiment was chosen from the Love What You Do photopolymer stamp set.

Card Details:
- Create the card base using Thick Very Vanilla cardstock (8-1/2″ x 11″, score and fold at 4-1/4″).
- The second layer is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Soft Suede cardstock. Before adhering to the card base, texture emboss with the Subtle 3-D Embossing Folder.
- The sentiment is stamped and then embossed using Clear Embossing Powder. First, using a 3″x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and the Stamparatus, stamp the sentiment with Soft Suede Classic Ink Pad. IMPORTANT: Do not remove paper or stamp from the Stamparatus. Carefully, clean the stamp with Simply Shammy to remove the Soft Suede ink. Next, wipe paper with the Embossing Buddy and then stamp the sentiment again using Versamark Ink. Remove the stamped paper from the Stamparatus and sprinkle over the Versamark with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Use Heat Tool to activate and set the Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Allow to cool, then cut shape with the die from the Wild Roses Die set. NOTE: Offset the sentiment when die cutting so that the sentiment is to the left side (refer to card photo). Attach to card front with Snail Adhesive.
- Select flowers and hummingbird from the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP. Fussy cut using Paper Snips. Notice there’s an outline around the figures making it easy to fussy cut. Depending upon the flowers you select, you may wish to cut a few additional leaves to add behind the flowers.
- After cutting images, arrange and attach the flowers to the card front using Snail Adhesive.
- Add the hummingbird using Mini Stampin Dimensionals.
- Complete the card by adding Metallic Pearls embellishments.
All the products for this project are listed below in Project Materials. You can order by clicking directly on the image. I appreciate your business.

Jul 3, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Craft Fair Projects, Technique, Uncategorized |
While sorting craft supplies, I found a 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ notebook and immediately decided to create a Pressed Petals Covered Notebook. The Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper has beautiful photographic images. Since the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) is light weight, I knew it would work perfectly to create cover the small notebook. Plus, the coordinating Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape would make a perfect embellishment. As seen in the photo, the Linen Ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack covers the front seam. I went back and forth whether to add a phrase on the notebook or not. But as you see, in the end “A Little Note” was added. The phrase can be found in the Butterfly Gala Photopolymer Stamp Set.

The photo also shows the notebook back is finished with the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP. Additionally, Merry Merlot cardstock is cut to fit the interior panels and covers the overlapping DSP.
Tips for creating a Pressed Petals Covered Notebook:
- Measure the front of your notebook starting where the binding meets the cardboard. Add 1/2″ to the top and bottom measurements plus 1/2″ to one side measurement. This is the size you will cut your paper. This provides you ample paper to fold and cover the notebook edges.
- Use multipurpose liquid adhesive to attach the paper to the front of the notebook. I put the glue on the notebook and not on the paper. Start by abutting the paper along the binding edge and work out toward notebook edges.
- To create a neat fold at the corners, use paper snips to clip the paper so sides and fold over one another on the inside of the cover. Glue to hold in place.
- Measure the inside panel of the cover and cut ensuring it will overlap the designer series paper.
- Repeat for back cover.
- To embellish the front, wrap ribbon around the front at the seam of the binding and the designer series paper.
Pressed Petals Washi Tape Flower:
- Peel 8 petals from the washi tape roll.
- Punch a 3/4″ circle of cardstock to use as a base for the petals.
- Arrange four of the the petals around the cardstock base. After attaching, use the Embossing Buddy on the exposed back of petals to prevent stickiness.
- Add the next layer of four petals by offsetting them on the first layer of petals. Lift edges and dust with the Embossing Buddy.
- For the flower center, add a Perennial Essence Floral Center. Glue to front of the notebook.
- Optional: Punch 2 sets of leaves from Mossy Meadow Cardstock with the Leaf Punch. Spritz lightly with water, pinch leaves between fingers and after it dries, attach around flower using mini glue dots.
- Also optional: Stamp the sentiment and cut with the Classic Label Punch.
The notebooks are the perfect size to place in one’s purse. Plus, the notebooks are a great craft fair project! Since I found more than one mini notebook in my craft supplies, I’ll be covering them so be on the lookout for another covered notebook post.
Hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks for stopping by!

Jul 1, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Christmas, Stampin' Blends |
The Hallmark Channel recently released the dates for the start of their Christmas in July holiday movies. One of my favorite things during the holidays is watching the Hallmark Christmas movies and this July, I plan to get an early start by watching some of the Hallmark Christmas in July movies. So in honor, I am celebrating Christmas in July with Lots of Cheer. The Lots of Cheer is a new holiday stamp set released in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog (page 69). What better way to forget the warm, muggy weather than to watch Christmas movies on Hallmark in July! Plus, you can get a head start on your holiday cards and ease the last minute rush in December.
Card Details:
- Create card base using Whisper White Thick cardstock ( 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, score & fold at 4-1/4″). Add a layer of 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Real Red Designer Series Paper (from the 6″ x 6″ Regals Designer Series Paper pack).
- Stamp the stack of presents onto a 3-1/2″ x 3″ piece of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Cut the shape using the 3rd largest Stitched Nested Labels die.
- Color the stamped image with Stampin’ Blends. The light Balmy Blue stampin’ blend adds a hint of color along the outline edges of the presents. Additional Stampin’ Blends colors on the project includes Call Me Clover (light & dark), Daffodil Delight (light & dark), Real Red (light & dark), Smoky Slate (light & dark) and Pumpkin Pie (dark). If desired, use the Color Lifter to lighten the center area of the hat.
- Use the 2nd largest Stitched Nested Labels die to cut the Call Me Clover cardstock. Layer the image piece on top and adhere with snail adhesive.
- With Call Me Clover Classic Stamp pad, stamp the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings onto a small scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Cut using the Classic Label Punch. If desired, use the punch to cut one end to create a “v” pennant tail as seen in the card photo.
- Attach sentiment label to the back of the Call Me Clover layer. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach to the card base.
- Tie a double bow using 2 strands of Whisper White Baker’s Twine. Attach to card with mini-glue dot. Complete embellishing by placing a red rhinestone on the knot of the bow.
Don’t delay, order the Lots of Cheer stamp set and check the Hallmark Channel for Christmas in July showtimes so you can get in the holiday spirit with me! Throughout July, I’ll be adding a few more Christmas projects so make sure you’re registered to receive my posts.
Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Jun 28, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Daisy Lane, Floral, Technique, Uncategorized |
Last week, one of my blog posts featured a make ‘n take card using the Daisy Lane stamp set. Today, the project is a Daisy Lane “stepped up” card. As you see, I have added some pizzazz to the basic card design. It’s easy to take a simple card and make it a “stepped up” card with just a few extra embellishments. You can see the original simple stamping card design here.
Card details:
The colors and stamping are the same as in the Simple Stamping with Daisy Lane card details. So, refer to the link to review the general instructions and project materials.
- To create the additional center on the daisy, punch a 1″ circle of Melon Mambo cardstock for each daisy. With paper snips, cut small snips toward the center of the circle punch, leaving a circle in the middle approximately 1/4″ diameter. Use eraser end of a pencil or the end of the Take Your Pick, press onto the circle center so that the circle cups and the snips separate. With mini glue dots, attach to the daisy center and add the Perennial Essence Floral Centers to each.
- Cut a piece of 3-3/4″ piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon. Snip between threads on each end and slightly fray. Attach to card using Tear & Tape adhesive. Refer to photo for approximate placement.
- To the sentiment label, add pearl white sequins from the Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins package. Place one on each side of the label. In the center of each, add a Basic Rhinestone Jewel.
- For the bow, pull threads from a piece of the flax ribbon. Use two of the threads to tie into a bow.
See how easy it is to “step up” a card design by adding a few embellishments?
