August 3D Tutorial Bundle & Blog Hop

It’s a new month and to kick it off, we have the August 3D Tutorial Bundle!  In addition to the tutorial bundle, the team is featuring a blog hop!  We’re each sharing a second project created using the same products to coordinate with our tutorial project.  You’ll find the blog hop links at the bottom of this post. This month, the team is featuring products from the Nothing’s Better Than Bundle.

Remember, the projects designed for the 3D tutorial bundle aren’t available elsewhere online.  Therefore, you’ll receive EXCLUSIVE projects in the tutorial bundle.  In addition, we’re including both Imperial and Metric measurements for each project.

Now for a Sneak Peek of the August 3D projects…

For me, my coordinating project is the perfect card!  I’ve been known to partake in the guilty pleasures all in the same day, especially the past few months! Can you relate?

Nothing's Better Than

Card Details:
  • The card base uses the Misty Moonlight cardstock (4-1/4″ x 11″, scored & folded at 5-1/2″).
  • Next, add Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper (5-1/4″ x 4″) to the card base.
  • With a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the words: Coffee, Cookies, Chocolate and Cocktails using Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pad.  TIP: use the Stamparatus to align and space the words.  Be sure to leave enough space for the images beside the word. Add to the Artistry Blooms layer using Stampin’ Seal.
  • Using scrap pieces of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the coffee cup, the cookie, the chocolate and the cocktail.
    • For the coffee cup, stamp the cup outline using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. For the cup interior, use the Misty Moonlight Classic Stampin’ Pad but stamp off onto a scrap of paper before stamping the cup interior.
    • Stamp the cookie and the chocolate outline using Soft Suede Classic Ink Pad and again, stamp off with the ink for the solid interior stamps.
    • For the cocktail glass outline, use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad.  And for the beverage in the glass, use Misty Moonlight Classic Stampin’ Pad and stamp off twice before stamping in the cocktail glass outline.  Use Petal Pink Light Stampin’ Blends Marker to color the umbrella and Daffodil Delight Light Stampin’ Blends Marker to color the lemon slice.
  • With the coordinating Love You More Than dies, cut the stamped coffee cup, cookie, chocolate and cocktail.  Add to the card using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • For the sentiment phrases, cut strips of Granny Apple Green cardstock (5/8″ x 1-5/8″  and 5/8″ x 1-7/8″).  Stamp the phrases onto the strips using the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad and to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • To complete the interior, use a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Then, stamp the phrase using the Tuxedo Black and repeat the process from above for the cocktail glass.

Peony Gift Box

A friend recently had a birthday and to celebrate, I sent her a small gift. If you receive my newsletter, you’ll recall the peony birthday card along with instructions for creating the card.  As promised, I am sharing the coordinating Peony Gift Box that includes the inspiration for both the box and the birthday card.  One of my go-to places for small personal gifts is Bath & Body Works.  So after receiving an email showcasing a selection of peony bath gel and lotions, an order was quickly placed.  The items coordinate perfectly with products from the Peony Garden Suite Collection.

Peony Garden Gift Box

Project Details:

As you see in the photo, I crafted a box from a 12″ x 12″ Night of Navy cardstock (from the Neutrals 12″ x 12″ cardstock pack) cut to size for the box bottom plus it’s matches the blue on the Bath & Body Works products.  For the box top, a piece of the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper is cut to fit the box bottom.  For creating boxes, I use the instructions provided by Donna Griffith in her You Tube video, How to Make Your Own Box.  Her detailed instructions make it easy to create boxes sized specifically for a project.

After creating the box, use the Peony Dies to cut Blushing Bride cardstock for the flower.  Next, sponge each of the pieces for the flower using Melon Mambo Classic Stampin’ Pad before assembling.  Tip: When sponging, use a swiping motion with the sponge to drag the ink across the layer.  Now, assemble the peony.  And to create dimension between the peony layers, tuck Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals between the cardstock layers.  Finish the flower by adding the stamen using a mini glue dot.  The stamen is die cut from a scrap of Bumblebee cardstock.  Notice how the Stampin’ Up! colors match the peony colors on the lotion and gel containers perfectly?  For the leaves, cut 3 sets using the Peony Dies.  Garden Green cardstock forms the main leaf body and contrasting leaf edges use Old Olive cardstock.

Finishing the Peony Gift Box top:

Next, create a base for the peony label by cutting a piece of Night of Navy cardstock using the Tasteful Labels Dies.  Attach a Gold Foil circle cut with the 2-1/4″ circle punch to the Night of Navy label.  Finish by arranging the leaves and adding the peony to the label using Mini Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Ribbon is wrapped around the center of the box lid and glued inside the flaps.  The Night of Navy ribbon on the project is retired and no longer available but you can substitute a Whisper White Ribbon or color a ribbon with Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends.  Add the Peony Label to the box using a strong adhesive such as Stampin’ Seal+.  Complete by adding a bow just below the peony on the label.  Add to the Night of Navy box bottom and your gift box is complete!

Here are additional views of the box:Peony Gift Box

It’s so much fun when you find products that coordinate with Stampin’ Up! stamps and papers!  Creative ideas abound!

Of course, the box coordinates also with the card…

July 3D Tutorial Bundle & Bonus Days!

WOW! Can you believe it’s already July? There is lots happening this month.  To start the month, we have the July 3D Tutorial Bundle!  In addition to the tutorial bundle, the team is featuring a blog hop!  (links at bottom of blog post)  Even better, we’re each sharing a second project created using the same products to coordinate with our tutorial project.  This month, the team is featuring products from the Playful Pets Suite.  This product suite will have you and pet lover friends howling or purring with delight!

Remember, the projects designed for the 3D tutorial bundle aren’t available elsewhere online.  Therefore, you’ll receive EXCLUSIVE projects in the tutorial bundle.  In addition, both Imperial and Metric measurements are included for each project.

Now for a Sneak Peek of the July 3D projects…

You’ll love the cute 3D project designs!

For my coordinating project, I have a cute gift card holder design for you.

Playful Pets Gift Card

And here’s the card interior:

Playful Pets Gift Card Interior

Gift Card Details:
  • Refer to the photo below for cutting and scoring to create the gift card holder.  Real Red cardstock is used for the base.

Cutting & Scoring for the Playful Pets Gift Card Holder

  • In addition, cut the following:
    • Real Red cardstock: 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ (calling it horizontal panel)
    • Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (DSP): 2 coordinating pieces each 2-1/2″ x 4″; strip for interior 3/4″ x 4″; select the 2 dogs from the DSP and fussy cut
    • Whisper White cardstock: 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Referring to the photos, cut, score and fold the gift card base.  Add a strong adhesive such as Tear & Tape along the sides of the panel with 1/2 circle.  To create the gift card pocket, fold the panel along the score line toward the 5-1/2″ score line.
  • Next, attach the coordinating Playful Pets Designer Series Paper pieces to the front of the card, to the 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ horizontal Real Red cardstock panel and to the interior pocket of the card.  The Stampin’ Seal adhesive is great for this!
For the gift card interior:
  • On the Whisper White cardstock, stamp the dog bowl on the lower right corner of the cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Color the bowl with the Real Red Dark Stampin’ Blends.  Then, add the fussy cut dog to the left corner of the Whisper White cardstock and use the Stampin’ Seal to add the Whisper White panel to the gift card interior. I love the expression on the dog’s face!
For the card front:
  • Cut a 16″ piece of the black & white baker’s twine from the Playful Pets Trim Combo pack.  Wrap the twine around the card so it can be used to tie the card closed on the right side.  Now, position the horizontal Real Red cardstock panel so that it is centered and aligns evenly with the right side of the gift card base.  Carefully attach to the card ensuring you adhere the baker’s twine and that the adhesive is only on the front portion.  If it extends past the folded gift card portion, it will become attached to the card interior. Optional: add a small amount of liquid glue to the baker’s twine and attach to the back of the horizontal Real Red panel – keep open until it dries.
  • Select the sentiment from the Pampered Pets Stamp Set.  Stamp onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Next, cut the shape using the Tasteful Labels Dies.
  • Finish the front of the horizontal Real Red panel by adding the sentiment label using Stampin’ Seal.  Then, add the fussy cut dog using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • For the final touch, add a Playful Pets Trinket to the dog’s paw. Tie the twine into a bow to close the gift card.
  • Optional: Add a piece of the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper to the flap on the envelope.

Have fun creating with the Playful Pets Suite Collection!  The variety of dogs and cats offer multiple creative options for pet lovers.

  • With the large sunflower stamp from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set, stamp the image onto a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock using Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad.  Color the sunflower image using the following Stampin’ Blends Markers: Light Soft Suede (flower center), Light So Saffron, Light Pumpkin Pie and Dark Daffodil Delight (flower petals).  Cut using the coordinating die from the Sunflowers Dies.
  • On a 4-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the sentiment on the lower right side of the cardstock using the Misty Moonlight Classic Ink Pad (Item #153118)Lucky for me, an ink spot of this color is in the May Paper Pumpkin kit!
  • Stamp three (3) of the large leaves from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set onto the Whisper White cardstock using Old Olive Classic Stampin’ Pad.  TIP: for determining placement of the leaves, lay the die cut sunflower onto the cardstock to give you an idea where to stamp the leaves.  Remove the sunflower and then stamp the leaves. Color the leaves using the Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Marker.  Next adhere to the card offset by aligning the Whisper White edge with the right edge of the Designer Series Paper layer.

Dressed To Impress

During the cleaning and reorganizing of my craft cave recently, I came across a package of Lipstick Ink Pens ordered from Amazon last year for one of those “good intentions” projects.  You know you have “good intentions” to make a project, order all the materials but it never gets made!  Can you relate? Thought I can’t remember the original design, I knew the Dressed to Impress bundle would be perfect to create a 3D project using the ink pens.  Even better, the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper contains a variety of colors to coordinate with the Lipstick Ink Pens. The resulting project is a Lipstick Pen and Post-It Note Holder.

For this week’s Playtime with Paper team online meeting, members received a kit for creating this project.  It was a fun to be able to meet virtually and craft together making the project.

Dressed To Impress Lipstick Pen Holder

Project Materials:
  • Cut the following pieces of cardstock:
    • Base:  4-1/4″ x 11″, score at 5-1/2″ and fold.
    • Inner Support: cardstock 4″ x 4-1/2″.  On the 4-1/2″ side, score at 1/2″, 2-1/4″ and 4″.  Fold along score lines to form a “W”.

    •  Lipstick holder: 3-1/2″ x 2-3/4″.  Score along the 3-1/2″ side at 3/4″, 1-1/2″, 2-1/4″ and 3″.  Score the 2-3/4″ side at 2″.  Use bone folder to burnish along the score lines.
    • For sentiment: Whisper White cardstock 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
  • Select desired Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and cut as follows:
    • 5-1/4″ x 4″
    • 3 pieces at 1/2″ x 1-3/4″
  • Dressed To Impress Stamp Set
  • Classic Stampin’ Pad to coordinate with project
  • Stitched Shaped Dies
  • Coordinating ribbon
  • 2″ x 2″ Post-It Notes
  • Lipstick Ink Pens (Amazon link)
Project Assembly:
  • Use the 5-1/4″ x 4″ Best Dressed Designer Series Paper to one side of the cardstock base.  This will be the front side of your project.
  • Attach the inner support piece to the inside of the base.  To do so, add a strong adhesive such as Tear & Tape Adhesive or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the outside of each of the 1/2″ flaps and attach each flap to the lower interior edge of the base.

  • Create the lipstick holder.  With paper snips, cut along each score line on the 3-3/4″ side up to the 2″ scored line.  After cutting, you will have 4 tabs that are 3/4″ and one tab that is 1/2″. Cut and remove the 1/2″ tab up to the 2″ score line then cut a small angle at bottom of the tab.  Trim along each side of the tab.  Add adhesive to outside of the 1/2″ tab and fold side over to create tube.  Fold each of the flaps and seal with adhesive to form the tube bottom.  Finish by adding the 1/2″ x 1-3/4″ Designer Series Paper to three sides of the tube.  With strong adhesive, add the lipstick tube holder to the front panel of the base.

  • Add the Post-It Notes to the front of the base using a strong adhesive aligning the bottom of note pad with bottom of lipstick tube holder.
  • Stamp sentiment onto the Whisper White cardstock.  Cut using the circle Stitched Shapes Die.
  • Add the sentiment above the post-it notes using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Embellish by adding a small bow using Mini Glue Dots.

Have fun selecting your favorite Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and coordinating cardstock to create a Lipstick Pen Holder and Post-It Notes holder for your desk.  Be sure to share your project with me in the comments section!

Important to note:

A reminder that Stampin’ Up! has released the Last-Chance Product List. The list includes the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and the Dressed to Impress Bundle.  The designer series paper will no longer be available after June 3 or while supplies last.  The Dressed to Impress Stamp Set and the coordinating All Dressed Up dies will return in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog but not offered as a bundle.  Recall that a bundle saves you 10% vs purchasing the items individually.

Thank you for stopping by today and happy crafting!
