Sep 14, 2020 | 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, 2020-2022 In Colors, Baby, Cards, Uncategorized |
This weekend I was able to attend a baby shower for my daughter-in-law. In another month, we will be welcoming a new granddaughter, Camryn, to the family! The decor for baby Camryn’s room is jungle animals with a focus on zebras (as selected by big sister, Brooklynn). So, the Zany Zebras stamp set created a perfect baby card. The 2020-2022 In-Color Magenta Madness adds a bright background highlighting the zebra. More features of this fun card are below.
Notice the zebra is in a window. Not only is the zebra in the window, it also wobbles. Such fun to create a motion card. I found the card wobbles on Amazon but if you want to keep the zebra stationary, Stampin’ Dimensionals will secure the zebra.
Zany Zebras Baby Card Details:
- Create card base using Thick Whisper White cardstock (4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″ for a side fold).
- Cut a piece of the Magenta Madness 2020-2022 In-Color Designer Series Paper 4″ x 5-1/4″ and attach to the card front.
- Stamp the zebra onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (approximately 3″ x 3″) using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. With paper snips, fussy cut the zebra. (while you’re stamping, be sure to stamp a zebra on the envelope too!)
- Select placement area for zebra. Then, use the third largest Layering Circles Die cut a window into the card front.
- Create a frame for the window cut-out by using the second & third largest Layering Circles Dies to cut a piece of Magenta Madness cardstock. Add the frame to the cut-out.
- To showcase the zebra, add a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Magenta Madness cardstock to the card interior. Center the zebra in the frame and adhere with either a card wobble or Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- For the sentiment, add a 1-1/4″ x 3″ strip of Basic Black cardstock to a strip of the Foam Adhesive Sheet. Cut the word “baby” using the Well Written Dies set. Stamp the word “for” onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and use paper snips to cut into a small rectangle around the word. The word for comes from the Well Said Stamp Set. (The dies and stamp set are available as a bundle – saving you 10%).
- Complete the card by adding the sentiment to the lower right area of the card front.
Not only is the Zany Zebras baby card a fun, cheerful card, it is was a fun card to create!

Jul 20, 2020 | 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, 2020-2022 In Colors, Artistry Blooms, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Dies, Many Layered Blossoms, Thank You |
Last week, one of my posts highlighted the Blossoms in Bloom bundle. Today’s card features the Many Layered Blossoms Dies which are part of the bundle. With just the dies, you are able to create various floral combinations. It makes card creating very simple. Combining the die cut overlay with the die cut of designer series paper and you quickly have the makings of a card!
Materials for the Many Layered Blossoms card:
- Card base: Bumblebee cardstock.
- Whisper White cardstock: for layer onto card base; for floral overlay die cut and for the sentiment
- Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper: for the floral die cut
- Stamp Set: Many Mates for sentiment
- Layering Ovals Dies – for sentiment label
- Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad
- Bumblebee 2020-2022 In Color 1/4″ Ribbon
- Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals & Stampin’ Seal
Tips:
- Use a sponge to add the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the back of the floral overlay and then attach to the Artistry Blooms die cut floral layer. OR: attach an Adhesive Sheet to the Whisper White cardstock prior to die cutting.
- Attach the completed floral piece to the Whisper White layer and wrap ribbon around card before attaching to the card base.
- Add the stamped sentiment to the card across the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
If you enjoy creating floral theme cards, you’ll want to add the Many Layered Blossoms Dies (or the Blossoms in Bloom Bundle) to your crafting supplies!

Jun 22, 2020 | 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, 2020-2022 In Colors, Cards, Floral, Flowers for Every Season, No Stamping, Simple Stamping, Sunflowers |
Yes, you read the title correctly! Today’s card is a “no stamping card.” When creating for the June “to go” class, I opted to make one card that would require no stamping. The Sunflower Dies and the Flowers for Every Season provide the perfect combination to create a simple, lovely card without the use of stamps. Of course, if you want to add a stamped sentiment, it’s easy to do. I find it handy to have cards on hand without a sentiment and when a specific occasion arises, it’s easy to add the needed sentiment. However, this card works great without a sentiment too!
Card Materials:
- Card Base: Misty Moonlight cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11”, score at 5-1/2” and fold.
- Layer 1: Whisper White cardstock – 5-1/4” x 4”
- Layer 2: Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 4” x 3”
- Bumblebee cardstock: cut 2 @ 3-3/8” x 3-3/8”
- Cinnamon Cider cardstock: 1-1/4” x 1-1/4”
- Just Jade cardstock: 1-1/2” x 8”
- Misty Moonlight ¼” In Color Ribbon
- Sunflower Dies
- Adhesive Sheets: 1 cut to 3-3/8” x 3-3/8” and 1
- Stampin’ Seal
- Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Mini Glue Dots
Card Directions:
- Attach the 3-3/8” x 3-3/8” Adhesive Sheet to one of the Bumblebee cardstock squares and add the other adhesive sheet to the Just Jade cardstock.
- Using Stampin’ Seal, attach the Flowers for Every Season DSP to the Whisper White cardstock. Add the piece 5” piece of the Misty Moonlight ¼” In Color Ribbon around the card (refer to photo for placement location). Next, attach the Whisper White/DSP layer to the Misty Moonlight card base.
- Select the two large sunflower dies from the Sunflower Dies. Use the Sunflower Base Die to cut the sunflower shape from the 3-3/8” x 3-3/8” Bumblebee cardstock that does not have the adhesive sheet attached.
- Next, cut the Bumblebee cardstock with the adhesive on the back with the petals Sunflower Die. Align the petals with the sunflower base, then remove the adhesive sheet backing and attach petals to create the sunflower.
- Using the sunflower center die, cut one from the Cinnamon Cider cardstock. Add to the center of the sunflower using a Stampin’ Dimensional.
- Select the large solid leaf die and the coordinating open leaf die from the Sunflower Dies. Cut 3 solid leaves from the 1-1/2” x 3” strip of Just Jade cardstock. Cut 3 of the open leaves from the Just Jade cardstock with the adhesive sheet. Layer the open leaves (veins) to the solid leaves – attach by removing the backing on the adhesive sheet.
- Referring to photo for placement, attach the leaves to the back of the sunflower using mini glue dots. Then, attach the sunflower to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Finally, complete the front of the card by adding a small bow tied from the Misty Moonlight ¼” In Color Ribbon.
See how simple it is to create a beautiful card?!
Additional Tips: A must have for the sunflower dies are the Adhesive Sheets. The adhesive sheets make it easy to attach the intricate cut pieces to their coordinating bases.
For an extra touch, use coordinating ink and a sponge dauber to add depth to the sunflower and the leaves.
Be sure to register under “Get My Posts” so that you’ll receive my blog updates. I’ll be featuring a “stepped up” version of this card in the near future. And yes, stamping will be involved! (lol)

Jun 10, 2020 | 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, 2020-2022 In Colors, Birthday, Card Sketch, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Flowers for Every Season, Flowers for Every Season, Forever Greenery, Forever Greenery, Product Suites |
Have you taken note that I enjoy using the various products in the Flowers for Every Season Suite Collection? I just realized that my past few posts have incorporated items from the suite. So of course, today’s post is no different! I’m loving the versatility of the product suite. It provides the ability to combine the different elements to create a variety of cards. Today’s card uses the Flowers for Every Season Memories & More Card Pack, as well as, a piece of the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper.
Here are some of the card details:
- The front of the card base is texture embossed using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. The floral print layer is from the Flowers for Every Season Memories & More Card Pack. The 1-1/4″ strip is a piece of the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper. After stamping and cutting the sentiment layer, add a few sprigs of leaves from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Designer Series Paper to the label. Finally, complete by embellishing with a small bow.
The design is the from the weekly design challenge for the Playtime with Paper team. Each week, I select a design or color challenge for the team to use. Below is this week’s challenge from the Sunday Stamps Blog.
In addition to my take on the design, I am including a card created by Playtime with Paper team member, Linda Edwards of Crafty Heron Designs. Linda’s card features the Forever Greenery Suite Collection. Isn’t her card stunning?
