Are you looking for some quick to make gift tags? I have you covered with these last minute gift tags. I don’t know about you but it seems that at Christmas, I am rushing to finish wrapping presents. Since a gift needs a tag, it needs to be quick to make. The three gift tags that I’m sharing today are quick and easy making them perfect to create last minute. For the three tags, I decided to use different themes for each – a snowman, a pine tree and a penguin.

Penguin Gift Tag:
- Create a tag base by cutting a piece of Whisper White cardstock 2″ x 4-1/2″ and punch one end using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. If desired, round the corners on the opposite end of the tag using the Detailed Trio Punch. Stamp the penguin from the Playful Penguin stamp set onto the tag using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the scarf using Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad. Fussy cut the scarf and add to the stamped penguin using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next, stamp Merriest Wishes on the front and To/From on the back of the tag using the Real Red ink. If desired, complete by adding a ribbon or twine to the tag.
Pine Tree Gift Tag:
Use the Pine Tree Punch to cut a tree from the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper. With the 2″ circle punch, cut two pieces of Whisper White cardstock (one for the front of the tag and one for the back). Use a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Dies to cut a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock. Add the Whisper White circles to scalloped circle using Snail Adhesive. One one side, attach the Pine Tree to the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals and on the reverse stamp To/From. Stamp the “No Peeking Til Christmas” from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set using Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Then, fussy cut around the sentiment and attach to the Pine Tree. Tie a small ribbon to add to the top of the tree. With a handheld punch, punch a small hole into the top of the tag. Thread a thin ribbon or Baker’s Twine through the hole and tie. NOTE: the gold twine on my sample is a discontinued product but you can color Whisper White Baker’s Twine with the Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend to use in place of the gold twine.
Snowman Gift Tag:
- Create the tag base by using the Delightful Tag Topper on one end of a 2″ x 4-1/4″ strip of Whisper White cardstock. Cut a 1-3/4″ x 3-1/4″ background piece from the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper. Attach to the Whisper White tag base. Using the Layering Ovals Dies, cut a snowman from the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper. Attach to the background layer using Snail adhesive. Stamp sentiment onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad. Cut using the Classic Label Punch. NOTE: the sentiment is from the Most Wonderful Product Medley. Or, select your favorite holiday sentiment to use.
Though I have chosen to use three different designs, you may decide to create one style to use on your gift packages. Whichever you prefer, the gift tags will be quick and easy to create last minute!
Time is running out for Holiday shipping so place your orders soon. Note – many of the products used will not be available after January 2, 2020. Therefore, be sure to order your favorites so you’ll have them for future use.

Dec 2, 2019 | 2019 Holiday Catalog, 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Brightly Gleaming Product Suite, Christmas, Copper Tea Tins, Gifts, Quick & Easy, Uncategorized |
It’s hard to believe that it’s December already. Since Thanksgiving was later this year, it seems Christmas will be here in a flash. I spent the weekend putting up a few holiday decorations and decided that this year, I would scale back in comparison to past years. What’s great is the decorating is complete. I can now relax and enjoy the holiday touches.
That brings me to today’s project, an embellished Copper Tea Tin. Have you seen the Copper Tea Tins in the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog? You can find them on page 173. Four tins come in the package. The tins are perfect for embellishing and for creating a quick gift. I plan to fill the tea tins with small cookies and candies for holiday gifting. A huge thank you to Patty Bennett for the inspiration! For this tin, the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper creates the backdrop for the embellishing. However, this particular Designer Series Paper is no longer available. If you do not have this particular paper, no worries as next week I’ll provide alternatives for embellishing the Copper Tea Tin.

Details for embellishing the Copper Tea Tin:
- Wrap a piece of 3″ x 12″ of Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper around the Copper Tea Tin, secure with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
- Cut a coordinating piece of the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper, 2″ x 12″ and wrap it around the first layer of Designer Series Paper.
- Color the 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon using the Dark Pretty Peacock Blends. Set aside to dry for a few minutes while working on other project elements.
- Using the Stitched Stars Dies, cut a star from Very Vanilla cardstock. Layer a large star from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements on top. TIP: use a glue dot in the center of the star to attach it to the Very Vanilla.
- On Whisper White cardstock, stamp the holly from the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set using Mossy Meadow Classic Ink Pad. Use a Blender Pen to pull the ink from the stamped image and color the holly leaves. Fussy cut using Paper Snips.
- For the berries, use Night of Navy Classic Ink Pad to stamp another holly. Again, use a Blender Pen to pull the ink from the stamped lines to color the berries. Fussy cut the berries and add to the holly leaves with Mini Glue Dots.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Tiny Keepsakes stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock using Night of Navy Classic Ink Pad. Cut with the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies.
- Assemble layers: first wrap the Classic Weave ribbon around the tin and tie on side in a knot. Add the star using Tear & Tape adhesive. Next add the sentiment tag and the Holly onto the star using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Complete by embellishing with Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
The tin is now ready to be filled with goodies!

Nov 8, 2019 | 2019 Holiday Catalog, 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Gifts, Tags |
For today, I’m taking a break from Christmas theme projects and sharing a Harvest Hellos Gift Tag. For recent team gifts, members received a Bath & Body Works hand soap. The apple in the Harvest Hellos Stamp Set along with the Apple Builder Punch coordinate perfectly with the Afternoon Apple Picking label. Don’t you just love it when store bought items coordinate with your stamps and dies? Both of the items can be purchased in the Harvest Hellos Bundle for a 10% savings. For the colorful background leaves, the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper is cut with the Gathered Leaves Dies provides perfect Fall leaves.

Here’s a close-up of the gift tag:

Steps to create the Harvest Hellos Gift Tag:
- First, create a tag base using a 3-1/2″ x 2″ piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock and the Delightful Tag Topper Punch or the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
- From the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper. select the desired colors. Then, cut one large leaf, two medium leaves and one small leaf from the designer series paper using the Gathered Leaves Dies. Also, use the dies to cut a medium size, solid leaf from a scrap of Mossy Meadow cardstock.
- From the Harvest Hellos Stamp Set, stamp the apple using Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Punch the apple shape using the Apple Builder Punch and punch a stem from a scrap of Early Espresso cardstock. Attach the stem to the apple using a mini glue dot.
- Notice the small leaves around the apple stem? One small leaf was cut from an Old Olive Foil Sheet found in the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets. After cutting the leaf with the Gathered Leaves Dies, 2 portions were cut to use around the apple stem. Attach to the apple using mini glue dots.
- To stamp the sentiment, use the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp set and Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin’ Pad to stamp onto a 1/2″ x 2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. After stamping, cut an inverse “v” to create the flag end.
- Next, layer the leaf elements onto the Crushed Curry Tag base. When you are satisfied with the placement, attach to the tag base using Snail adhesive. Add sentiment to apple. Then, add the apple atop the leaves using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- To complete the tag, attach a Linen Thread bow. For attaching to the gift, use Braided Linen Trim.
Hope you enjoyed this gift tag project. Tip: When making tags, it’s the perfect time to use your scrap papers.
Thanks for stopping by and check back soon for more inspiration. Happy crafting…

Oct 11, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Bird Ballad, Birthday, Cards, Floral, Fun Folds |
If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ll recall past birthday cards for my friend’s mother, Ms. Lorraine. This year was a very special birthday for Ms. Lorraine. She celebrated turning 100 years old!!! Naturally, it required an extra special birthday card. There were a variety of sentiments to add to the card so the double Z-fold with extra panels offered a perfect design. You’ll notice the card uses a combination of current and discontinued Stampin’ Up! products. The discontinued products includes the Number of Years and Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Sets. With such a milestone, the numbers definitely should be front and center. Though I often do not keep non-current products, there are certain stamp sets and bundles that are must haves forever. The Number of Years is one such set! And Picture Perfect Birthday is a favorite. The other card elements are from the Bird Ballad Suite.
The front of the card and envelope.
A view of the interior side panels.
The back of the card and the envelope flap.
Details for the card:
As you note from the photos above, almost all of the panels front and back have decor. For a handwritten sentiment, a panel on the back works perfectly. Notice the envelope? As an extra touch, both the front and back of the envelope are stamped and colored with Stampin’ Blends. Tip: To avoid the blends from bleeding through the envelope, insert a scrap of paper behind the image before coloring.
For the card base, use Pool Party cardstock. Then on the card base, build layers using Daffodil Delight cardstock with an additional layer of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper on the panels. For the interior z-panels, the Daffodil Delight layer has panels of Whisper White cardstock. The stamp sets, Stitched All Around and Picture Perfect Birthday, provide perfect interior sentiments. Fussy cut the bird and flowers to embellish the card panels. The words, Happy Birthday, are from the A Wish for Everything Stamp Set. Rhinestone Basic Jewels add a touch of bling to the flowers. To match the The Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the card base, a dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blends easily does the job!
Another tip: when creating a card, look at all of your stamp sets and mix/match to fit the occasion.
As my husband and I were traveling on a bucket list trip, we were not able to attend the celebration for Ms.Lorraine. I understand that she loved the card!
Hope you have a great weekend. We’re finally getting Fall like temperatures so I’m looking forward to enjoying the outdoors!

Oct 7, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Note Cards, Over The Moon, Quick & Easy, Stampin' Blends |
Each month the top sales performers in the Playtime with Paper group receive a small gift for their accomplishment. Naturally, the gift must include a card or tag. Using the Over the Moon Cling Stamp Set from the Annual Catalog, I was able to make an “Udderly Fantastic” note card . As you can tell from the “udderly fantastic”, there must be a cow somewhere on the card! If you noticed from my past posts, I enjoy using the note cards. The note cards are perfect to have on hand when you want to prepare a quick card. Best of all, twenty note cards come in a set, are reasonably priced and envelopes are included.

Here are the steps for creating the card:
- The stamp for creating the cow spots background comes from the Love What You Do Stamp Set. Randomly stamp spots onto the Whisper White Note Card using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
- Stamp the sentiment and the cow onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Cut using the large circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
- Color the cow using the following Stampin’ Blends: Light Black for the spots, hoof, and tail; Light Smoky Slate for the tail, hair tuft and shading shadows; Light Petal Pink for the face, udder and inside ears and Light Mossy Meadow for the grass.
- Use the large scallop from the Layering Circles die to cut a layering piece from Basic Black cardstock. Attach the cow piece to the scallop using adhesive.
- Tie a piece of Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the card.
- Complete the card by adding the cow tag to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Order the Over the Moon Stamp Set along with some note cards and have an udderly fun time creating a variety of cards!

Oct 4, 2019 | 2019 Holiday Catalog, 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Floral, Fun Folds, Stampin' Blends, Technique |
The Fall Fun Fold card is a change from the typical card design and “fun fold” definitely describes this card. The card is one of the samples from the September class and showcases products from both current Stampin’ Up! Catalogs. The Country Home Photopolymer Stamp Set can be found in the Annual Catalog on page 95. Though it’s a great set to use year round, the milk can with the cotton bolls floral arrangement reminds me of Fall. The Come To Gather Designer Series Paper, from the Holiday Catalog, is added on the front fold panel. Continue reading below the card photos for the card details.

Card Base:
- First layer is Mint Macaron cardstock: 4-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- To create the slender folded panel, use Pretty Peacock cardstock. The size is 9-1/2″ x 2-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-3/4″.
- Referring to photos for the placement, attach the Pretty Peacock panel to the Mint Macaron card base using adhesive.
Card Panels:
- Cut two panels of Whisper White cardstock 4-1/2″ x 2-1/4″. On one of the panels, stamp the milk can using Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad. Stamp the florals with Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad. Use Pretty Peacock Classic Stampin’ Pad for the sentiment. TIP: To make alignment and stamping easier, use the Stamparatus.
- Use the following Stampin’ Blends: Smoky Slate (light & dark for the milk can), Mint Macaron (light & dark for leaves), Rich Razzleberry (dark for the berries), Daffodil Delight (dark for the center flower) and Cajun Craze (light and dark for the seed pods).
- For the cotton bolls, add small touches of the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint and heat set. TIP: Work quickly as the puff paint is very thin (little goes a long way) and can dissolve the stamped image. I suggest doing a section at a time. Add a small amount of the Puff Paint, heat set and repeat. If you look closely at my photo, you’ll notice the stamped image started to dissolve giving a “dirty” appearance to the cotton bolls. Of course, cotton bolls aren’t all pristine white!
- For the interior sentiment, stamp it with the Pretty Peacock on the other Whisper White panel. The sentiment is from the Country Home Stamp Set. If desired, stamp the wheat sheath from the Gather Together using Crushed Curry Classic Stampin’ Pad to the side of the sentiment.
- To complete the card, add the panels to the Pretty Peacock fun fold piece with adhesive.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this Fall Fun Fold. Credit for the fun fold goes to Dawn Olchefske at DO Stamping with Dawn. She featured the fun fold on a project and I added the design to my “give it a try” list. Now you can add it to your list!
