Nature’s Beauty Birthday Card

March Madness is coming!  My March Madness isn’t the NCAA Basketball tourney but it’s a slew of birthday celebrations in March.  My dad’s birthday kicks off the madness on March 1 so I created a birthday card featuring Nature’s Beauty.  The stamp set is perfect for creating masculine cards.  For the card design, I CASED a card on page 48 in the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog changing up the stamp set.  I love the design on this card and plan to use it again, mixing up stamp sets to fit the theme. The annual catalog is a great place to find designs when your creative juices aren’t working in full force!  In addition to using the Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set, several other stamp sets help supply additional elements.  For additional details, scroll down past the card photo.

Masculine Birthday

Card details:
  • Card base is Night of Navy Cardstock (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score at 4-1/4″ and fold).
  • Use the Woodland Embossing Folder to texture emboss a 5-1/4″ x 4″ panel of Whisper White cardstock.  Attach to the card base with adhesive.
  • Cut a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″.   On one of the short edges, spritz light with water, tear and fray.  Stamp the fern image (Painted Harvest Stamp Set) using the Balmy Blue Classic Stampin’ Pad onto the panel.  Refer to photo above for approximate placement.  Attach the panel to the Whisper White layer using a strong adhesive.
  • Select the wood grain and the woven papers from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Cut a woven print strip to 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″.  Add to the strip to the card, slightly off center.
  • Cut the wood grain print 2-1/2″ x 4″ and on one end using paper snips, cut to create a banner.  Add to the card.
  • Stamp the deer image from Nature’s Beauty Stamp set using Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a 2-1/4″ x 4″ strip of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut top and bottom edges to create a banner.  After cutting, stamp ferns using the Balmy Blue and lightly sponge around deer.  Stamp grass using Old Olive and sponge around deer’s hooves.  Use a small hole punch in center of banner.  Thread and loop a piece of Braided Linen Trim through the punched hole.
  • With the Leaf Punch, cut two sets of leaves from Crumb Cake cardstock.  Attach to the back of the deer banner.  Next, use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the deer banner to the wood grain banner on the card.
  • To finish the card, stamp Happy Birthday from Itty Bitty Birthday Greetings using Balmy Blue Stampin’ Pad onto a strip of Whisper White.  Then, cut to separate the two words.  Add to the card using dimensionals.

My dad is a deer hunter so the card is perfect for him.

Remember, use the Stampin’ Up! catalogs for card design inspiration.

Forever Blossoms Note Card

In this month’s card class, the focus was on All About Flowers.  A must was using the Forever Blossoms Bundle and the Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper.  The cherry blossoms evokes thoughts of Spring  and the cherry blossom stamp with it’s coordinating die are perfect for creating cards and projects.  With the multitude of rainy days we’ve had in Georgia, hopefully the cherry blossoms will give us a showy Spring!  As you’ve likely noticed, I enjoy using note cards and the Scalloped Note Cards & Envelopes coordinates perfectly with the designer series paper.  The idea for coloring the cherry blossoms using Sponge Daubers comes from Patty Bennett.   Just click on the link to Patty’s page for details. Sponging makes it a quick project.

If you want to make the Forever Blossoms Note Card, use a light pink Scalloped Note Card.  Attach a layer of 5″ x 2-3/4″  Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper to the front of the card and a 1/2″ x 5″ strip to the inside right card edge.  You want the strip to “peek” behind the scalloped card edge.

Using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad, stamp the cherry blossoms onto a 5″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Also on the Whisper White cardstock, stamp the Hello sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia using Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad.  Add Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo to the cherry blossoms with sponge daubers.   To color the stems, use Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  Cut the cherry blossom stem with the coordinating Cherry Blossoms Die.  To cut the sentiment, use the Stitched Labels Dies.

Assemble by adding the cherry blossom to the front of the note card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then, attach the sentiment label.  Complete by tying a small knot bow using the Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon and adhere using a mini glue dot.

TIP: Stamp multiple cherry blossoms onto Whisper White cardstock and have a color fest selecting a variety of colors for the blossoms.  Cut each with the coordinating die and you’ll be set to create a variety of cards to have on hand.

Valentine Surprises

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Today, I am sharing Valentine surprises that I received this week.

Valentine

The first surprise is a beautiful card! A dear friend, Jamie, sent a Valentine card combining the Sale-a-Bration Little Ladybug with the Heartfelt Bundle.  The recent coordination product release features the Ladybug Dies so she was able to cut the ladybug easily.  Look closely at the card.  After stamping and coloring the flower, she texture embossed using the Subtles Embossing Folder.  Just the simple use of the embossing folder changes the entire card appearance.  Plus touches of Wink of Stella adds a little extra shimmer.  Below is a closer look…

Ladybug Valentine Card

And now for some treat holders…

Playtime with Paper team member, Linda cut Designer Series Paper using the Mini Curvy Keepsake Dies.  Notice the embellishment on the treat holder.  She cut Real Red cardstock with the Stitched Be Mine Dies and then cut a stitched Valentine for the sentiment using the same dies.  And to go with the sentiment she made a honey bee embellishment using Shrinky Dink Plastic. The Honey Bee Bundle provides the honey bee stamp and the Detailed Bee Dies.  Simply stamp the bee onto the Shrinky Dink, cut with dies and shrink using heat. So cute! and great to remember when wanting to make different embellishments.

Valentine Mini Curvy Keepsake holder

Mary Pat, another Playtime with Paper team member, also made a treat holder.  Utilizing the Stitched Nested Labels Dies, she was able to create a pocket the perfect size for nesting a Ghiradelli Chocolate Square.  Real Red cardstock is cut with one of the larger dies.  Two designs of the From My Heart Designer Series Paper are also cut.  One piece to use as the wrap to create the pocket and one cut with a slightly smaller die to layer on the Real Red cardstock label.  For embellishing the front of the pocket, the Heart Doily is layered with a heart cut in the From My Heart Designer Series Paper using the Heart Punch.

Receiving the Valentine Surprises was unexpected but greatly appreciated!

Welcome to 2020! It’s January, a New Year, and to celebrate we have a fantastic New offer for you!  It’s the launch of our 3D Tutorial Bundle!  Today, we’re celebrating with a blog hop!  In addition to the 3D Tutorial Bundle, we’re each sharing a second project created using the same stamp set or bundle that has been used in our Tutorial Bundle Project.  The theme for this month is Valentine’s Day.

The projects designed for the 3D tutorial bundle aren’t available elsewhere online.  Therefore, you’ll receive EXCLUSIVE projects in the tutorial bundle.  In addition, you’ll receive both Imperial and Metric project measurements.

By the way, have you checked out the amazing line up of designers for this round?  Yes, they are pretty amazing and talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!

Time for a Sneak Peek of the projects created for the month of January:

If you want to see the full projects and receive the tutorials for each, you will need to get the 3D Tutorial Bundle.

It was so much fun creating with the Honey Bee Bundle that I decided to create a quick and easy note card to use for Valentine’s Day.  I am in love with the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper!  It is a Sale-a-bration FREE item so you can get it with an order of $50 or more (before taxes & shipping).  Check out the card photo below. How cute is the Designer Series Paper?!

Cover the front of a note card with the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper. Then stamp sentiment using Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock.  The sentiment is from the Wiggle Worm Stamp Set in the Annual Catalog.  Cut the sentiment using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  A piece of Gold Foil Sheet is also cut using the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Attach the Gold Foil stitched rectangle to the card front and layer the sentiment atop the gold foil using Stampin’ Dimensionals.   Stamp Happy Valentine’s Day from the Meant to Be Stamp Set to the card interior with the Real Red ink.

To complete the card, add Real Red Basic Rhinestones to each side of the sentiment.  With the honey bee from the Honey Bee Stamp set, stamp two bees onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Black ink.   Cut the honey bees using the coordinating Honey Bee Dies. Attach one of the honey bees to the card front (refer to photo for placement) and one to the card interior.  Tie a knotted bow using a piece of the 3/8″ Real Red Ribbon and attach to sentiment layer using mini glue dots.  Also, don’t forget the envelope!

Secret Santa Reveal

In my last post, I highlighted the first two gifts from my Secret Santa and the creative packing of the gifts.  My third gift has arrived and now the identity is known.  So, now it’s time for the Secret Santa reveal.  Drum roll please!!!  My Secret Santa is the wonderful and talented Patty Bennett!  Of course, she continued her creative genius with the third gift.  Using the Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper, Patty altered a Pressed Petals Journal.  Additional elements such as ribbon, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots along with sprigs of gold foil and green leaves complete the cover decoration. It is gorgeous (almost too pretty to use)!  However, my husband and I have an upcoming trip so the journal will be useful trip notes.

Altered Pressed Petals Journal

Not only did Patty embellish the cover of the journal, but she also embellished pages throughout the journal using the Christmastime Is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Note – though the paper is named for the Christmas Holiday, it’s appropriate to use throughout the year!  Click here to read her blog post detailing how she altered the journal.

And the card enclosed with the gift is adorable!

#Elfie is retiring so if order before January 3, 2020, if you wish to add this cute stamp set to your collection of stamps.

Have a happy holiday!

“Tis the Season To Be Hopping”

Welcome to the”Tis the Season To Be Hopping” Blog Hop.  You are in for a super fun treat with all the ladies who have joined us for this hop.  Be sure and follow the hop all the way to the end, you don’t want to miss any of it!  Whether you are starting the blog hop here at my blog, or have come from the person before me, be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey through the blog hop.

The project that I am featuring for the “Tis the Season To Be Hopping” Blog Hop is a decorated Mini Pizza Box.   Have you noticed that I love to use the mini pizza boxes to create small gift packaging?  For this post, the mini pizza box features a Shaker Dome on the box top.  What’s great is the Snow Globe Scenes Dies cut the mini pizza box with ease!  Since I am creating hot chocolate and s’mores kits, the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) fits the theme perfectly.

Snowman Snow Globe Mini Pizza Box

How to create a shaker dome on a mini pizza box:
  1. Use the Snow Globe Scenes Die to cut the shape from the top of the Mini Pizza Box.  Add a Snow Globe Shaker Dome to the mini pizza box – remove the paper covering the adhesive strip on the top edge of the shaker dome.  Insert the dome through the cutout on the top.  Press firmly to adhere.
  2. Next, cut a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ square of Let It Snow Specialty DSP for the top.  Then, use the Snow Globe die to cut the shape from the DSP (this will slide over the dome on the top).  Cut four pieces 3/4″ x 3-1/4″ to add to each side of the box.  Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, attach the designer series paper to the outside of the mini pizza box .
  3. For the shaker dome, select a snowman from the Let It Snow Specialty DSP to use in the dome.  TIP: use another dome to lightly trace around the snowman and cut around the traced area by at least an inch on all sides.  This will ensure you cover the entire dome.
  4. To the dome, add a small amount (a pinch will do) of Snowflake Sequins and Ice Stampin’ Glitter.  If you have the Let It Snow Embellishment kit, add a few of the snowballs.
  5. Now, remove the paper covering the adhesive strip on the shaker dome.  Add the snowman cut from the Let It Snow DSP and press firmly to seal the shaker dome.
  6. To finish the inside of the lid, cut a piece of Real Red cardstock 3-3/8″ x 3-3/8″ and add to cover the back of the shaker dome.  If desired, add a stamped sentiment to fit your theme.
  7. Lastly, finish the mini pizza box by adding a bow using the 5/8″ Whisper White Flax Ribbon.  Adhere to the bottom of the shaker dome using mini glue dots.

Now you have a fun Shaker Dome mini pizza box to use.  Even more, it’s a fun gift box!  Be sure to comment below and let me know what you’re adding to your shaker dome mini pizza box !

Reminder:  Time is running out for Holiday shipping so place your orders soon.
