The 2019-2020 Annual Catalog launches on June 4. So, I am sharing a peek at the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. The Magnolia Lane Designer Series paper is stunning and is as beautiful as blooming Magnolia trees. I am participating in a designer series paper swap with several other demonstrators. Today’s card is the card prepared for the swap. It features three of the paper’s coordinating designs. Additionally, the sentiment is one of the stamps in the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set. Do you notice the magnolia bud by the sentiment? The coordinating Magnolia Memory Dies cut the bud from one of the designer series papers perfectly. Be sure to add this bundle to your Shopping List.
Card Details:
- The card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ score & fold at 4-1/4″) and the oval for the sentiment are Petal Pink cardstock.
- Cut a piece of the floral pattern of the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper to 5-1/4″ x 4″.
- For the next layer, cut Mossy Meadow cardstock to a size of 4-1/4″ x 3″.
- The stripe layer of designer series paper is 4″ x 2-3/4″. Attach to the Mossy Meadow cardstock layer.
- Use the Magnolia Memories die to cut a magnolia bud from the designer series paper.
- With the smaller open cut leaf, cut three leaves from Vellum cardstock. Layer the 3 leaves behind the bud as shown in the photo.
- Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Cut using an oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies. Layer onto the Petal Pink cardstock oval cut using the Layering Ovals Dies.
- Attach the sentiment piece to the striped designer series paper layer using stampin’ dimensionals.
- Embellish with a bow tied using the Mossy Meadow twine in the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.
- The final embellishment is a scattering of three Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins in Sahara Sand color.

Since the announcement of retiring products by Stampin’ Up!, I am using my retiring products to make room for new items. Who else is a paper hoarder?! My paper tray has been holding a package of the In Color 2018-2020 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper waiting for use. Instead of recreating the wheel, I chose to recreate a monochromatic Blueberry Bushel card sent to last year’s In Color Club members. Because instructions were included with the card, it was easy for me to quickly make a series of cards. By varying the sentiments, I have cards ready for a variety of occasions.
To showcase the Blueberry Bushel designer series paper, strips are cut from the different designs. Because the card is monochromatic, the designs coordinate and create visual interest. You can locate the instructions for this card under the Tutorial tab.

Another project from the All About Easter class earlier this week were Easter Treat Holders. The first project holds a carrot shaped treat holder. Last month at our team meeting, we were able to make a similar holder. Thank you Gloria for the idea! It is a project that I knew would be perfect to include in the All About Easter class. The carrot treat containers are available at Dollar Tree and the boxes are perfect to hold the carrot erect. Another of the treat projects is a CASE from Angie Juda. For both projects, simply cut and score cardstock to create the holder. Refer to the details below the photos for more details.
Don’t you agree each box is perfect for holding the Easter treats? Either of the treat holders are perfect to use as table favors. Or just use when you want to give someone a special Easter treat. The carrot treat holder is sized large enough that you can add a non-candy item such as nuts or a package of garden seeds.
Each box is quick and easy so you can make multiples at a time. Simply cut the cardstock, score, cut the opening, and fold. Add Designer Series Paper and embellish. How Sweet It Is and Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper are used for the projects above.
Carrot Treat Box Details
- Start with a 2-3/4″ x 11″ piece of Pineapple Punch cardstock. Score the cardstock at 4″, 6-1/4″, 7-1/2″ and 9-3/4″.
- Cut selected designer series paper to 2-3/8″ x 2-3/8 and a 2-3/8 x 1-1/8″.
- To create the cutout to insert carrot, use the 2″ circle punch or the layering circle dies to cut a hole in the cardstock. The panel for the hole is between the 7`1/2″ and 9-3/4″ score lines.
- Attach the designer series paper as shown in the photo above.
- Apply Tear and Tape adhesive to the smaller end panel and seal to form box shape.
- Stamp the bunny and carrot onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The stamps are from the Best Bunny Photopolymer Stamp Set in the Annual Catalog. Highlight the bunny with the Petal Pink Stampin’ Write Marker and punch using the 1-1/2″ circle punch. Color the carrot with the Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green Stamper Write markers. You’ll need to fussy cut the carrot. Use the 1-3/8″ scallop circle punch to cut Pineapple Punch cardstock. Attach the bunny onto the scallop circle with adhesive and add the carrot using a mini-glue dot.
- Embellish by adding slip a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Ombre ribbon and use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the bunny scallop piece over the ribbon.
Visit Angie Juda at My Chic ‘n Scratch for details on creating the Easter Chick treat box. I embellished her design by adding flowers using the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack from the Occasions Catalog. The finishing touch is adding green paper shred under the chick.

The Waterfront birthday card in today’s post is a great card when you need a generic themed card. It features the Waterfront Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Well Written Framelits Dies. Notice the card size. It uses the 4″ x 6″ Night of Navy Card Base from the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. The Memories & More cards & envelopes simplify card making and offers two sizes of cards with matching envelopes.
Since the card base is larger, a couple of cardstock layers fill the blank space. Tan and navy are a wonderful color combination. Therefore, Crumb Cake cardstock is sandwiched between the Night of Navy layers. Stamp the images from the Waterfront Stamp Set onto the Whisper White cardstock using a variety of classic stampin’ pad colors. Use a blender pen to soften any overlapping lines. The color selection for the card above includes Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Shaded Spruce, Early Espresso, Night of Navy, Balmy Blue and Crushed Curry. When stamping the center mountain with the Crumb Cake ink, stamp off the image onto a scrap paper once before stamping onto the card. Stamp the mountains on the left and right without stamping off.
After stamping the images onto the card, use the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add texture. Unfortunately the texture is not evident in the photo but it has the appearance of a linen paper.
Birthday Wishes is cut from Night of Navy cardstock using Well Written Framelits Dies. TIP: attach a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the Night of Navy prior to cutting with the framelits. This makes it easy to add the sentiment to the card front.
The Waterfront Stamp Set is perfect for creating generic birthday cards and is my go to set for masculine themed cards. Order your supplies below under Project Materials.

Earlier this week on a Facebook Live, I highlighted maximizing your Designer Series Paper. Twelve cards can be made from one 12″ x 12″ sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP). The only scrap for the trash left after making the cuts is a 1/2″ x 1-1/2″ inch piece. The Designer Series Paper in the sample cards is Painted Seasons. Tips for cutting:
- Use the photo as your guide and cut the vertical lines first. In the photo, the pink arrows designate the vertical cut lines.
- Cut the first vertical line at a width of 4″.
- The next vertical cut is 3″ in width.
- The final vertical cut is 3-1/2″ in width.
- After completing these cuts, you will have a 4″ x 12″ strip, a 3″ x 12″ strip, a 3-1/2″ x 12″ strip and a 1-1/2″ x 12″ strip.
- Refer to the photo and cut the strips to the appropriate sizes for the cards.
