In an earlier post this week, the Needlepoint Nook bundle was introduced to you. Today, I am featuring the Needlepoint Nook bundle in three different cards. The Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper is especially highlighted. The detail of the designer series paper is amazing! You are able to see the individual embroidery strands of the stitches. With such detail, it makes creating cards simple since the paper can be the feature element.
Helpful Hints:
As you look at the samples, notice the first two from the left are very simple cards. The pink card really features the paper with just a ribbon tie and a stamped sentiment added. This card is perfect for the beginning stamper or anyone needing a quick to make card. To create the sentiment, first use the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Die to emboss embroidery stitching on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Next you will stamp the sentiment into the center of the embossed piece. Lastly, cut the shape using the coordinating Pretty Label Punch.
The blue butterfly card includes a “tuxedo” fold to add interest to the card front. The double-sided designer series paper is great since the reverse design coordinates perfectly. To create the “tuxedo” look, mark the midpoint of the designer series paper. For the sample above, the designer series paper is 5-1/4″ x 4″ so the midpoint is 2″ from right edge and 2-9/16″ from top (the Stampin’ Trimmer is the perfect tool to use!). After marking the midpoint, cut from the midpoint to the right edge. Fold back the flaps to create the “tuxedo” collar. After folding, attach the designer series paper to a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of whisper white cardstock.
The far right sample is good transition card for a beginning stamper to build upon their skills. The layered embellishment and sentiment are stamped using colors that coordinate with the paper. With the Needlepoint Elements Dies it is easy to cut the shapes. To add more visual interest, snip between each strand of the Flax Ribbon and separate the strands.
Remember for a 10% savings, order the Needle & Thread Bundle. The bundle includes the Needle & Thread Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Needlepoint Elements Dies.
The past few weeks, I have been promoting that during Sale-a-Bration you have the opportunity to earn free product. One of the many products you can earn is the Lovely Lattice stamp set. This is a beautiful stamp set that you will have fun coloring. There are so many techniques you can choose from when you put the images to the paper. My personal favorite would be to color with the Stampin’ Blends or the Aqua Painter. Take advantage of Sale-a-Bration and earn this set for free with a $50 purchase from my online store.
Today’s card is quick and easy using the So Hoppy Together Cling Stamp Set from the Sale-a-Bration brochure. Our grandson, Alex, recently earned honors at school so we are giving him a small gift as a reward for his hard work. Naturally, the gift needs a card! Often I like to use the Whisper White Narrow Note Cards with coordinating envelopes to accompany gifts. The narrow cards are the perfect size for simple stamping and come in a package of 20 cards with matching envelopes. Plus, there is enough room inside the card for writing a short note. The So Hoppy Together Cling Stamp is very cute and the frog on the unicycle is perfect for the narrow card. The “You Can Do Anything” sentiment in the stamp set is perfect for the congratulatory card for Alex’s achievements.
Card Directions:
Stamp the image from So Hoppy Together Cling Stamp set onto Whisper White Narrow Note Card using Stazon Jet Black Ink.
Randomly stamp the sentiment around the card using the Stazon Jet Black ink.
Color the stamped image using Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens. Use the Old Olive watercolor pencil and the blender pen to lighten areas on the frog. Color unicycle using the Black and Grey watercolor pencil. Real Red and Daffodil Delight watercolor pencil colors complete the unicycle.
As said, this is definitely quick and easy! By placing a $50 order, you can receive the So Hoppy Together Cling Stamp Set for FREE. The full list of materials for this card is under Project Materials at the end of the post. By ordering all of the items, you can select the So Hoppy stamp set as your Sale-a-bration item.

With Sale-a-Bration in full swing, you can really take advantage of some of the wonderful free products in the catalog this year. Take a look below to see how some of the Sale-a-Bration products tie into to the Occasions catalog. The coordination is wonderful when you are creating projects. It’s even better with butterflies all around the Occasions Catalog. One particular area is the Gingham Gala Suite that consists of the Butterfly Gala bundle. Let’s take a look at these products and see how they all coordinate.
Butterflies are so beautiful so I am very excited about all these products that coordinate together. Sale-a-Bration is all about earning those free products and expanding your craft supplies. Butterflies are all around this year in the form of the Butterfly Gala bundle. Enjoy all it has to offer and earn some of it for free.
For a recent team meeting, I made a swap card featuring the Sale-a-Bration Lasting Lily stamp set. It is a simple card that is perfect for all levels of card makers. The Lasting Lily stamp set is FREE with a $100 purchase (before taxes/shipping). The set contains 16 photopolymer stamps. The beauty of the lilies are the Distinktive style stamp. This means the stamp is designed to lay down the ink in a way to obtain varying depths of color. Don’t you love the definition in the flowers? This is all done with the Distinktive stamp and does not require multiple step stamping. In addition, there are some wonderful sentiments with the set.
A couple of tips when using the Distinktive style of stamp:
To obtain a clear stamped impression, do not use a “juicy” ink pad since it will overfill the impressions. To solve the problem of a juicy pad, use the back of a spoon to push the ink to one end of the stamp pad. This will create a drier area to use for stamping. How can you tell if your ink pad is too juicy? Ink the stamp and look for ink bubbles or blotches. If there are bubbles or blotches your pad has too much ink. After stamping the flowers, use the back of the spoon to move the ink back into the stamp pad. By pushing the ink to one side of the pad, you will not be wasting the ink in your pad.
You do not want to overfill your stamp and loose the distinktive impression. To avoid this, try not to press the stamp into the ink pad. Be sure to tap, tap, tap the stamp onto the ink pad. Just by employing this method, I found that the perfect amount of ink was picked up by the stamp creating the desired stamped image.
To achieve even pressure, use a Stampin’ pierce mat with the photopolymer stamps.
Card Directions:
Card Base: Thick Whisper White Cardstock: 4-1/4″ x 11″, score at 5-1/2″ to create a top fold card.
Stamp the lilies using Highland Heather Classic Ink Pad onto a piece of 4-1/4″ x 3″ Whisper White cardstock. For the stems, use Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink Pad.
To attach the flower layer to the embossed Highland Heather layer, use Snail Adhesive. Finish by attaching to card front with stampin’ dimensionals.
Add the desired sentiment to the card. For this card, the sentiment is from the Home to Roost Sale-a-Bration stamp set. Punch using the 1-1/4″ circle punch and attach to card front using adhesive.
To complete the card, add a bow and rhinestone basic jewels. The ribbon is another Sale-a-Bration item (Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack). Note: You can also dye a white ribbon using the Highland Heather ink refill or your ink pad.
The full list of materials for this card is under Project Materials at the end of the post. To order your stamping supplies for this project, click on the product links or shop for items through my online store. And once you reach an order total of $100, you can select the Lasting Lily stamp set for FREE! Remember, shopping is available 24-7!
