Aug 30, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Floral, Thinking of You, To A Wild Rose |
Today I’m featuring a Thinking of You with a Wild Rose card in a neutral color scheme. The neutral color palette uses Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. One of my favorite stamp bundles in the Annual Catalog is the To A Wild Rose Bundle so naturally, it was easy to select it to use for the card. The bundle includes the To A Wild Rose Stamp Set and the coordinating Wild Rose Dies. A lacy Bird Ballad Laser Cut Card creates the beautiful base. Be sure to check out the Bird Ballad Laser Cut Cards. They include coordinating envelopes and a beautiful storage tin.
Isn’t this Thinking of You with a Wild Rose a gorgeous card?
Additional Card Details:
- For the panel behind the lacy card front, cut a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Adhere by using multipurpose liquid glue along edges of the lacy panel.
- Stamp the flower from To A Wild Rose onto a 2-3/4″ square of Very Vanilla cardstock using Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Classic Ink Pads. Cut using the coordinating die.
- For the leaves, stamp using Crumb Cake onto scraps of Very Vanilla cardstock. Cut using coordinating die. Note: 2 sets of leaves are used
- Select the Thinking of You sentiment from the Rooted in Nature Stamp set. Stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cut with the stitched label die in the Wild Rose Dies.
- Attach the sentiment to the card base using Snail Adhesive. Add the leaves to the wild rose using mini glue dots. Then, add the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Complete the card front by embellishing the center of the wild rose with Gold Metallic Pearls and adding a double bow tied using Linen Thread.

Aug 5, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Floral |
Have you seen the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper on pages 74 & 167 in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog? It is absolutely gorgeous! The lightweight paper features photographic images of real pressed flowers on one side of the paper. So when designing this card, I decided to use the photo of the Pressed Petals Bouquet on one of the papers. By using the Heirloom Frames Dies, a large oval helps to highlight the bouquet. As an extra touch, the coordinating Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape creates a flower to embellish the card. Scroll below for more card details.
Card Base Details:
Create the card base using Crumb Cake cardstock (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″), Use the Oval Heirloom Frames Die from the Heirloom Frames Dies and 3-D Embossing Folders to cut a large oval from a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Merry Merlot cardstock. Cut the Pressed Petals Bouquet image from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Paper. Attach the Merry Merlot frame to the photo of the Pressed Petals Bouquet using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. TIP: Before adhering, check DSP placement. If the DSP extends past frame, trim before adhering the frame. Once the liquid adhesive has dried, add the framed Pressed Petals Bouquet layer to the card front using adhesive.
Finishing Touches:
The “Hello There” greeting is from the Here’s A Card stamp set. Create a Crumb Cake cardstock tag using the Banner Triple Punch and stamp the sentiment using Merry Merlot Classic Stampin’ Pad. On the left side of the tag, use five of the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape petals to create a flower. TIP: After placing the petals, use the Embossing Buddy to dust the back of the flower petals to prevent them from sticking to the card. Stamp two sets of leaves (from the Floral Essence Stamp Set) using Old Olive Classic Stampin’ Pad onto Vellum cardstock. Use the heat tool to dry the ink. Once the ink is completely dry, use the leaf punch to cut the leaves. Use mini glue dots to tuck the leaves behind the flower. Attach the tag to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then, complete by adding a Perennial Essence Floral Center to the flower.

Aug 2, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Floral, Simple Stamping, Stampin' Blends, Uncategorized |
Can you believe it’s August already! Where is time going? Currently here in middle Georgia, we’re experiencing the hot, humid days of summer. So, it’s the perfect time to stay indoors and craft!
Today’s card features the Rare Blessings Stamp Set and if you’re looking for a simple card to create, this one has you covered. Recently, a friend had asked if I could make a simple, blank card (no sentiment) for them to use. The Rare Blessings set was on my desk, so I thought it would be perfect to use. Since the flower in the stamp set is delicate in appearance, I decided to use a soft color scheme of Purple Posy and Soft Sea Foam. The flower image was first stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored using the Soft Sea Foam and Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends Sets. The Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends highlights the center stamen petals of the flower. Using the Stitched Rectangles Dies, a frame is created from the Soft Sea Foam cardstock to highlight the flower image.
The interior of the card could not be completely blank! So, the small flower from the stamp set was stamped and colored to add an extra touch.
Add a comment and let me know what color scheme you’d like to see used with this stamp set. I’ll use it on a future post.

Jul 19, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Floral, Technique, To A Wild Rose, Uncategorized |
A Beautiful Wild Rose card is one of the projects from this month’s card classes. It features using the To A Wild Rose photopolymer stamp set. The Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog has lots of beautiful floral sets but the To A Wild Rose is definitely one of my favorites. The stamp set also has coordinating Wild Rose Dies and is offered with a 10% discount in the To A Wild Rose Bundle. Two-step stamping can be used with the stamps so that depth of colors can be added to the images. However, the outline stamp is beautiful to use by itself. For this card, the wild roses are stamped using the two-step stamping method and the masking technique was also utilized. Additional details are below the card photos.
Card Details:
Materials:
- To A Wild Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set
- Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Highland Heather, Whisper White, Garden Green & Vellum
- Inks: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin’ Pad, Highland Heather Classic Stampin’ Pad, Garden Green Classic Stampin’ Pad
- Dies: Wild Rose Dies, Stitched Nested Labels
- 5/8″ Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon
- Noble Peacock Rhinestones
- Adhesives: Snail, Mini Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals
Directions:
- Create the card base from a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock (score at 5-1/2″ & fold). Add a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Highland Heather cardstock.
- Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock (3-3/4″ x 5″) to use for stamping the wild roses.
- Before stamping the roses onto the Whisper White cardstock, create a wild rose “mask” to use for covering the roses. To create the mask, stamp the rose outline stamp onto a 3″ x 3″ post-it note. Be sure to stamp near the adhesive strip. Fussy cut the rose. Set aside to use for covering the roses before stamping the leaves to the card. TIP: make multiple masks to speed the stamping process. Also, save the mask inside of the stamp case and you’ll have it for future use.
- Using the Wild Rose outline stamp, randomly stamp three of the rose outlines onto the Whisper White cardstock using the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Refer to card photo for placement. For the full rose stamp, use Highland Heather ink pad to color the rose base. For the final rose stamp, use the Rich Razzleberry ink pad. Attach to card base using Snail adhesive.
- Place the “masks” over the stamped roses. Stamp the leaves using Garden Green ink pad. The leaves outline stamp and only one of the leaves layer stamp are used.
- With the Wild Rose Dies, cut 2 open leaves from a scrap of Garden Green cardstock and 3 of the small flowers from the Vellum cardstock. Add them to the card with mini glue dots. TIP : Prepare the sentiment layer (step 7) and use as a guide for placement of the embellishment pieces.
- Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and cut using the small Stitched Nested Labels Die. With a larger Stitched Nested Labels Die, cut a scrap of the Rich Razzleberry cardstock. Layer the two pieces using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add to the card using Snail Adhesive.
- Complete the card by adding a Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon Bow and a Noble Peacock Rhinestone as seen in card photo.
Have fun coming up with your own color combinations using the To A Wild Rose stamp set. Be sure to comment below what color combinations you select!

Jul 8, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Floral |
Have you looked closely at the beautiful Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper (pages 118-120 & 167) in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog? It is a designer paper that is much more beautiful when you actually see and feel it. I know when I first saw the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper in the catalog, I was not wowed. That certainly changed when I was able to see and feel the paper. The paper is a heavy weight paper that includes shiny, slightly embossed features on some of the pages. This makes the beautiful images “pop”. With the shiny, embossed features, the images such as the hummingbirds or flowers, are easy to fussy cut. Additionally, the specialty paper includes great designs to use as background layers. For the card below, the sentiment was chosen from the Love What You Do photopolymer stamp set.
Card Details:
- Create the card base using Thick Very Vanilla cardstock (8-1/2″ x 11″, score and fold at 4-1/4″).
- The second layer is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Soft Suede cardstock. Before adhering to the card base, texture emboss with the Subtle 3-D Embossing Folder.
- The sentiment is stamped and then embossed using Clear Embossing Powder. First, using a 3″x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and the Stamparatus, stamp the sentiment with Soft Suede Classic Ink Pad. IMPORTANT: Do not remove paper or stamp from the Stamparatus. Carefully, clean the stamp with Simply Shammy to remove the Soft Suede ink. Next, wipe paper with the Embossing Buddy and then stamp the sentiment again using Versamark Ink. Remove the stamped paper from the Stamparatus and sprinkle over the Versamark with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Use Heat Tool to activate and set the Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Allow to cool, then cut shape with the die from the Wild Roses Die set. NOTE: Offset the sentiment when die cutting so that the sentiment is to the left side (refer to card photo). Attach to card front with Snail Adhesive.
- Select flowers and hummingbird from the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP. Fussy cut using Paper Snips. Notice there’s an outline around the figures making it easy to fussy cut. Depending upon the flowers you select, you may wish to cut a few additional leaves to add behind the flowers.
- After cutting images, arrange and attach the flowers to the card front using Snail Adhesive.
- Add the hummingbird using Mini Stampin Dimensionals.
- Complete the card by adding Metallic Pearls embellishments.

Jun 28, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Daisy Lane, Floral, Technique, Uncategorized |
Last week, one of my blog posts featured a make ‘n take card using the Daisy Lane stamp set. Today, the project is a Daisy Lane “stepped up” card. As you see, I have added some pizzazz to the basic card design. It’s easy to take a simple card and make it a “stepped up” card with just a few extra embellishments. You can see the original simple stamping card design here.
Card details:
The colors and stamping are the same as in the Simple Stamping with Daisy Lane card details. So, refer to the link to review the general instructions and project materials.
- To create the additional center on the daisy, punch a 1″ circle of Melon Mambo cardstock for each daisy. With paper snips, cut small snips toward the center of the circle punch, leaving a circle in the middle approximately 1/4″ diameter. Use eraser end of a pencil or the end of the Take Your Pick, press onto the circle center so that the circle cups and the snips separate. With mini glue dots, attach to the daisy center and add the Perennial Essence Floral Centers to each.
- Cut a piece of 3-3/4″ piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon. Snip between threads on each end and slightly fray. Attach to card using Tear & Tape adhesive. Refer to photo for approximate placement.
- To the sentiment label, add pearl white sequins from the Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins package. Place one on each side of the label. In the center of each, add a Basic Rhinestone Jewel.
- For the bow, pull threads from a piece of the flax ribbon. Use two of the threads to tie into a bow.
See how easy it is to “step up” a card design by adding a few embellishments?
