Apr 22, 2020 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, January-June 2020 Mini Catalog, Uncategorized |
Today’s card is the result of an idea that’s been floating in my mind since the release of the Mini Catalog. I thought it would be fun to create a card with the theme of “Lipstick on A Pig” combining the Dressed to Impress and This Little Piggy Stamp sets. And of course, the color of Lovely Lipstick has to be used. It’s amazing how quickly my design vision came together! Below is my “lipstick on a pig”card:
Details so you can create “Lipstick on a Pig”:
- For the card base, cut Petal Pink cardstock (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″). Score at 4-1/4″ and fold.
- Second layer is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.
- Top layer uses a piece of 5″ x 3-3/4″ Best Dressed Designer Series Paper.
For the pig:
- Cut a piece of 3″ x 4-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Stitched Nested Labels dies.
- Select pig stamp from the This Little Piggy Stamp Set. Cover the sentiment below the pig using a small post-it note. With the post-it note in place, ink the pig stamp with Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad. Remove the post-it note and stamp the pig on the right side of the Whisper White Stitched Label cardstock piece.
- Color the pig body using the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Markers. Use the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Marker to color the pig’s hooves. Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Marker colors the grass and the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker colors the ground around the pig.
- Use the “kisses” stamp from This Little Piggy Stamp Set to add kisses on the pig’s body. TIP: Instead of using the ink pad, use the Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Write Marker to color each of the kisses and stamp onto pig. This prevents over-inking the stamp.
- Next, stamp the sentiment, Hello Gorgeous, from the Dressed to Impress Stamp Set onto the label using the Lovely Lipstick Classic Stampin’ Pad. Then, attach label to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finishing touches:
- Stamp the tube of lipstick using Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock. Color with using the Lovely Lipsticks Stampin’ Blends Markers and the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers. Use the Color Lifter to assist with shading on the tube portion.
- Cut the lipstick tube using the coordinating die from the All Dressed Up Dies. Add to the card using Mini Glue Dots.
- Complete the card by adding a small bow using the Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon to the edge of the label.
Have fun creating your own “lipstick on a pig” card!
Thank you for stopping by today and happy crafting!

Apr 20, 2020 | Card Sketch, Cards, January-June 2020 Mini Catalog, Product Medley, Project Kits, Thank You, Thank You |
Have you checked out the beautiful Botanical Prints Project Medley on page 61 in the Stampin’ Up! January – June 2020 Mini Catalog? The product medley is a wonderful kit. In addition to gorgeous Designer Series Paper, included is a 6-piece cling stamp set, coordinating dies, and accents for creating beautiful projects. The 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper features 8 each of 6 double-sided designs for a total of 48 sheets. In addition, the product medley contains 4 sheets of die-cut accents, 2 each of 2 designs; 4 sheets of laser-cut overlays, 2 each of 4 designs; Old Olive Twill Ribbon and 12 metal bee embellishments.
This past weekend I was able to spend some time crafting and created the following card. It highlights a sheet of the Designer Series Paper from the Botanical Prints Product Medley. The card design is the Playtime with Paper Team’s weekly challenge and comes from Sunday Stamps design SSC202. The challenges are a fun way for team members to engage with one another and share their interpretation of the design sketch.
Card Details:
- Create card base: Basic Black cardstock (4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″).
- Cut three strips of Whisper White cardstock: 1-11/16″ x 4″.
- Select desired Designer Series Paper and cut 3-7/8″ x 9/16″.
- Attach the Designer Series Paper strips to the Whisper White strips with Snail Adhesive. Position the strips evenly onto the card base and adhere.
- Using the triple leaves dies from the Nature’s Root Dies, emboss and cut two sets of leaves from scraps of Basic Black cardstock.
- Stamp the sentiment from the So Sentimental Stamp Set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad onto a 3″ x 2-1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Use the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to cut the shape.
- Referring to the card photo, attach the leaves to the top and bottom of the sentiment layer.
- Add sentiment layer to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Finish by embellishing sentiment with Basic Rhinestone Jewels.
I will be using more elements from the Botanical Prints Product Medley to create additional cards and other projects so be sure to subscribe to “Get My Posts” to receive notifications of new posts.
Thank you for stopping by today and happy crafting!

Mar 23, 2020 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Birthday, Cards, January-June 2020 Mini Catalog, Masculine, Uncategorized |
As we adjust to social distancing and a change in our routines, my focus has been on family so my posts have been few. It’s not that I’ve not had intentions to share projects with you but my mind has been elsewhere. I’m sure many of you can relate. Even though my posting has not been timely, I have found refuge in my craft space. For me, it’s relaxing and a great respite from the virus news each day. I hope you’re able to set aside time from your day to enjoy your crafting endeavors. Be sure to share how you’re coping in the comment section at the end of the blog.
Remember a few weeks ago, I said “March Madness” was coming? Well, we’re in the midst of a slew of March birthdays. The most recent to celebrate is my grandson, Alex, who turned 11. So, today I’m sharing Alex’s birthday card. He’s a budding musician and eclectic music lover. When I saw the Music From The Heart Stamp Set in the Mini Catalog, I knew it would be perfect to use when making cards for Alex. One of the instruments that Alex plays is the guitar so I used a couple of the stamps from the set to create a guitar for his card. A Night of Navy color scheme was chosen so it would have a masculine feel.
Alex’s Birthday Card Details:
- Starting with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Night of Navy cardstock, score at 5-1/2″ and fold to create the card base.
- Cut a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ Night of Navy striped paper from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper. Attach to the Night of Navy card base.
- Create layers three (3) and four (4) by use the Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
- Create a guitar by stamping with the Music From the Heart stamp set and Night of Navy Classic Stampin’ Pad. Stamp the “you rock” onto the card referring to photo for approximate placement.
- The word “grandson” is stamped using the Make a Difference Stamp Set onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. After stamping, cut around the word and attach to top card layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- With the music note stamps, ink the stamps and stamp off twice before randomly stamping music notes onto the card front layer around the guitar. By stamping off, the guitar stands out more. Also use the music notes to stamp the envelope – no need to stamp off for the envelope.
- Attach the top layer to the Navy Stitched Rectangle using adhesive. Add to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- For the interior, Happy Birthday and a musical note scale is stamped to complete the card theme.
According to Alex, “the card was cool”. Which is his way of saying he liked the card!

Mar 13, 2020 | 3-D, Coordination Product Release, Gift Bags, Gifts, January-June 2020 Mini Catalog, Tags |
In this month’s class, one of the projects created is a Tulip Gift Bag and coordinating tag. I love it when there is a designer series paper that coordinates with a stamp set and either dies or as with the Timeless Tulips Bundle, a punch. The bag uses the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper, which is from of the Coordination Product Release. The paper is wonderful as it coordinates with multiple stamp bundles. Naturally, the small gift bag needs a coordinating tag. The Timeless Tulips stamp set and the tag die from the Bonanza Dies combine to create a perfect gift tag. Details for creating both are below the project’s photo.
Creating the Tulip Gift Bag:
- From the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper, cut the tulip paper 6″ x 8″. Be sure to pay attention to the direction of the tulips.
- On the 8″ side score at 2-1/2″, 3-3/4″, 6-1/4″ and 7-1/2″. Rotate 90° (make sure that the tulips are facing toward the right) and score at 1-1/4″.
- Fold along score lines and trim along score lines up to the 1-1/4″ score line. Cut and remove the 1/2″ tab. See the photo below – dotted lines are score lines:
- Add Tear & Tape Adhesive to the 1/2″ tab, fold over to close the side creating the bag.
- Fold in bottom flaps and seal. Be sure the small flaps are folded in first and then overlap with the larger flaps.
- Pinch together and use a Mini Library Clip to seal.
For the coordinating tag:
- With the tag die from the Bonanza Dies to cut a 2-1/2″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.
- Using the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set, stamp two small tulips with Calypso Coral Classic Stampin’ Pad at the top of the tag. (refer to project photo above for placement) Stamp the large tulip with the same color onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Cut with the coordinating Tulip Builder Punch.
- Stamp three stems using Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pad.
- Add the large tulip onto the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals, slightly overlap the smaller tulips.
- Use the Tulip Builder Punch to cut a leaf from a scrap of the reverse side (green pattern) of the Pleased As Punch designer series paper. Adhere to tag under the large tulip with a mini glue dot.
- Stamp the sentiment with the Calypso Coral onto a 3″ x 1-1/4″ piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock. Cut using the shape using the Ornate Frames Dies. Attach to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Tie a knot bow using 6″ of Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon. Complete the tag attaching the bow below the large tulip using a mini glue dot.
What did we put in the gift bag? A wrapped Rice Krispies Treat Bar! It fit perfectly. Be sure to comment below and let me know what you plan to place in your gift bag.
A full list of the project materials is at the bottom of this post. Remember the Coordination Product Release products are only available through the end of this month. So you’ll want to order the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper soon! It’s also while supplies last.

Mar 11, 2020 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Coordination Product Release, Floral, January-June 2020 Mini Catalog |
Have you seen the Coordination Product Release from Stampin’ Up? Today, I am sending flowers featuring the Sending Flowers Dies from the Coordination Product Release. In addition, you’ll also see use of the Special Day Dies from the product release. The Coordination Product Release features items which coordinate with products from Sale-A-Bration as well as the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog. I’ll add the link below so you can check out the products available but first onto the card.
The beauty of the Sending Flowers Dies is the main die featuring a field of flowers which creates the focal point for a card. You can cut your cardstock, add color on the flowers, attach to a card base, add a sentiment banner and you’re done! And if you want, add an extra touch or two. Look closely at the card below. Notice the mouse in the field of flowers. I couldn’t resist placing the mouse in the flowers…it’s so darn cute! The Special Days Dies coordinate with the Special Someone Stamp Set making it easy to stamp and cut the mouse. Just a note, the Coordination Product Release ends on March 31, 2020, so you’ll want to place your order soon!
Card Details:
- Create a card base using Coastal Cabana cardstock (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, score at 4-1/4″ and fold).
- Next, add a layer of the gingham check (4″ x 5-1/2″) from the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper. (this is another Coordination Product Release!)
- Use the large circle flowers die in the Sending Flowers Dies to cut a 4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Color the stems of the flowers using the Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. TIP: Color up into the flower petal to ensure that each stem is completely colored when you add the flowers. Cut a variety of flowers from cardstock using the flower dies in the set. The cardstock colors on the card above are: Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral. Another tip: this is a great way to use your scraps of cardstock! After cutting the flowers, attach to the flowers on the stems using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Cut a 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of the coastal cabana designer series paper from the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper. Attach to the back of the flower square using adhesive.
- Add the field of flowers to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals leaving room for the sentiment banner at the bottom of the card.
- Stamp the sentiment, “glad we’re friends” from the Fable Friends Stamp Set, using Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock. Cut the banner shape using the die from the Sending Flowers Dies. Wrap linen thread around the side of the banner three times and tie into a small bow. Attach to the card using Dimensionals.
- For the mouse, stamp using the Gray Granite Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Cut with the coordinating die from the Special Days Die set. Add a mini glue dot to the back of the mouse and tuck into the field of flowers.
- To complete the card front, add small Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the centers of the flowers.
Of course, you can’t forget the inside of the card or the envelope!
In addition to using cardstock on the flowers, you can color them using your Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Markers or sponge daubers with ink. It’ll be fun using different coloring methods.
Follow this link: Coordination Product Release to see the products available. Again, remember the products are only available through the end of this month.

Mar 1, 2020 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, Easter, January-June 2020 Mini Catalog, Sale-a-bration 2020, Tutorials, Uncategorized |
It’s a new month and to kick it off, we have the March 3D Tutorial Bundle! In addition to the March 3D Tutorial Bundle, the team is featuring a blog hop. We’re each sharing a project created to coordinate with our tutorial project. The theme for this month is Spring Celebrations.
Remember, the projects designed for the 3D tutorial bundle aren’t available elsewhere online. Therefore, you’ll receive EXCLUSIVE projects in the tutorial bundle. In addition, you’ll receive both Imperial and Metric project measurements.
Here’s a Sneak Peek of the March 3D projects…
For my coordinating project, I designed an Easter card by combining several stamp sets. Don’t you agree the “little chick” from the Full of Happiness Stamp Set is cute and makes you think of Easter? Want to use the card for another Spring celebration? Just change out the sentiment.
Card Details:
- Create card base using a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock. Score at 4-1/4″ and fold along score line.
- Use a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock for the second layer. Attach to the card base with adhesive.
- Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 5″ x 3-3/4″. On the right side of the cardstock, stamp the chick from the Full of Happiness stamp set. Use Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pad for the body, Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin’ Pad for the feet and beak and Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad for the eyes.
- On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the egg shell outline using Sahara Sand Classic Stampin’ Pad. If desired, add the speckles using the same color. Cut using the coordinating Dino Dies.
- Use the egg shell as a guide to determine where to stamp the greenery vines from the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set (this is a Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set, you can get it free with a $50 order!). Remove the egg shell and stamp the vine using Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pad. Also, stamp part of the vine below the chick’s feet. Stamp small flowers on the vine using Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin’ Pad.
- Stamp “Easter Greetings” sentiment from Fable Friends Stamp Set on the card using the Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin’ Pad.
- With adhesive, add to the Granny Apple Green layer.
- Adhere the egg shell to the card front.
- With the Small Bloom Punch (Sale-a-Bration brochure offering), cut 5 flowers from the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper.
- Using the open leaves dies in the Detailed Bands Dies, cut 2 sets of leaves. Snip into pieces to length desired. Add to the card front using Mini Glue Dots.
- Next, position the 5 flower blooms so they are cascading from the egg shell and attach using Mini Glue Dots. Lastly, complete the card by adding Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of each flower.
