Today I have a very special z-fold birthday surprise card. It was designed by Cindee Wilkinson @ www.justspongeit.com. Her design was originally for a wedding card, however, I changed the paper and included a birthday greeting inside the card. The Designer Series Paper is our Share What You Love Specialty DSP.
Besides the DSP listed above, I used Basic Black Cardstock for the base. I also used the Stitched All Around Bundle which includes the stamp set and coordinating framelits. Additionally, for the sentiment, I stamped with versamark and heat embossed with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. That gives it a raised and much more vivid impression on the card. Finally, I finished by fussy cutting flower from the Designer Series Paper and tying 1/2″ Black Satin ribbon around card.
I love to take other designs and change it up a bit. See what I can do with it.
First of all, this card I am sharing with you today is a beautiful frosted shimmer. The shimmer does not show through pictures. It features the Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper (DSP) which is part of the Frosted Floral Suite in the Holiday Catalog. The card is also one of the samples that attendees made at this month’s card class. Furthermore, the paper is “Shimmery” and while you really cannot appreciate it in the photograph, it’s amazing. Seriously, the photos really do not do it justice and all of the paper in the package is simply gorgeous.
So do you see the frosted shimmer? Because of the glare, It may be a bit difficult to see. Create the card using The First Frost Stamp set and Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies. Both are offered in the First Frost Bundle while saving you 10%. Do you notice the Soft Suede frame is askew? Frame is cut using the Frosted Bouquet dies and attached to sentiment layer using dots of multipurpose liquid glue. It also adds an unexpected dimension to the card. Remember, all project materials can be found under Project Materials at the end of the post.

Beautiful holiday designs are what you will see this year in the form of the new Designer Series Papers. The Holiday Catalog also has so much more but the DSP’s are just gorgeous. If you received a catalog and can’t really see them very well, take a look below at the video from Stampin’ Up! and you will get a better idea of how pretty they are.
Beautiful Holiday Designs Throughout the Catalog
I don’t know how many of them are on your list, but they are all on my list. All the papers are available in my online store along with all the other Holiday Catalog products. Did you notice the festive photography of the All is Bright DSP? The vibrancy and detail are almost so life like, you just want to touch it. The Christmas balls are so elegant and detailed. Similarly with the Santa’s Workshop DSP. I just love those little people. It’s almost like you have to smile and sing when you are crafting.
If you still have not received a Holiday Catalog, please contact me so we can get one sent out to you.
The holiday madness begins with the release of the Holiday catalog today. Yes, today is the day it goes live. I know you are as excited as I am and can’t wait to create your wishlist. It’s probably my second favorite time of year. While there is nothing wrong with another day to celebrate, I really enjoy the brisk weather and beautiful colors the Fall has to offer. First of all, there are so many new stamp sets, papers, accessories and embellishments to check out, it may take you a while to absorb it all and appreciate everything that is in this catalog. Due to the volume of products, it may take you a little longer than you think.
Holiday Madness Begins Today
Yes, it is time for that crazy time of year. No, not back to school shopping but another obession in the form of my to do list of holiday events. It’s not just about presents and days off. For me it’s also about cards and projects and decorating. Everything also has a deadline and it’s almost easy to fall behind if you don’t plan ahead and early. As a result, you certainly won’t get it all done without a plan. It’s a good thing kids go back to school, we need that time to prepare for the weeks and months ahead. I think I’m planning even more projects than I did last year. It’s easy with a catalog like this one because there are more suites and kits that all coordinate together. I love almost all the new products.
Furthermore, if you did not receive a catalog in the mail and would like one, please contact me to arrange getting a catalog sent to you. You can also visit my online store to see all the new products.
For this week’s CASE the Catalog, I selected the You Made My Day card on Page 36 of the Annual Catalog. The card uses the Best Bunny Bundle which includes the Best Bunny photopolymer stamp set and the coordinating Bunny Builder Punch. This week, I did not alter the card but made it as shown in the catalog. The Best Bunny stamp set is one that can be used for a variety of occasions and as in this case, it’s perfect to send someone letting them know how special they made the day! Details and tips for making the card are below the photo.
Made My Day with these details for recreating the card:
Thick Whisper White: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ to create card base.
Broadway Bound Designer Series Paper (DSP): Dotted DSP 5 1/2′ x 4 1/4″ for base card front;. gold & black strip 3/4″ x 4″
Gray Granite: 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
Shimmery White: 4″ x 3″
Scraps of Whisper White for stamping bunny face, sentiment and hat using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Scrap of Basic Black. Use the Tailored Tag Punch to cut as shown in photo below:
Use Bunny Builder Punch and cut the bunny face, color the ears using Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. Color tophat using Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut. Layer the bunny face behind the top hat using a mini glue dot.
To create the background for the bunny and sentiment, add a light layer of water diagonally across the Shimmery White cardstock and sprinkle with Yellow Brusho. I used an Aqua Painter to blend the Brusho with the water. After the Shimmery White layer has dried, randomly stamp stars using Crushed Curry Ink Pad.
Using small Stitched Shapes circle framelit, cut the sentiment and layer onto circle of Gold Glimmer Paper cut using the 1 1/2″ circle punch.
Assemble by attaching dotted DSP layer to Whisper White card base. Next attach and center the Granite Gray Cardstock layer using Snail Adhesive. Add the strip of gold/black stripe DSP and then attach the Shimmery White layer – be sure to offset toward the right of the Gray Granite layer as shown in the photo.
Add the tag piece and the tophat with bunny.
Finish the card by using 8″ of Gold Mini Sequin Trim to create a faux bow and using Stampin’ Dimensionals add the sentiment.
In Conclusion
Finally, the stamp set has various sentiments that can also be used with another stamp set. I’m smitten with the different face expressions included for creating bunnies with a variety of looks and images. It will be fun to create cards for all types of occasions and really can Make My Day.
I would love to hear from you so don’t forget to add comments!
Be sure to check back tomorrow for the project details on the Country Home Suite from last week’s Facebook Live.
