Christmas Gift Bag

Create this perfect Christmas Gift Bag for the holidays this year.  Fill it with your goodies or small gifts and surprise that special someone.  It’s so much fun to create personal gift bags during the holidays.  I love creating personal hand-made packaging in addition to cards and gifts.  It’s a sure sign of joy and gift giving during the holiday season.  My heart is full of love for crafting.  Let them know how much you care.

You can find Santa’s Bags on page 19 of the Holiday Catalog.  They are perfect for crafting.  First of all, this one is decorated using the tree stamp from Timeless Tidings and Garden Green ink (you can also use any dark green ink that you have on hand).  Before stamping the bag, cut a piece of cardstock to insert inside of the bag to prevent ink bleed through and to provide better stamping surface.

To create the tag, I used the Better Together stamp set in the Annual Catalog and Cherry Cobbler ink for the greeting.  I also used Garden Green ink for the tree.  Stamp off the image onto a different paper and then stamp over the sentiment.  Also, sponge the label edge with the Garden Green.  Finally, use Cherry Cobbler twine from the Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine Trio and wrap around the bag drawstring.  The punches that were used are the Everyday Label & 1/8″ handheld.

All of these products are available in my online store.  I know you will enjoy having this Christmas gift bag option for any last minute gift giving this holiday season.  I always enjoy the faces of everyone that receives my special holiday packaging.

Traditional Holiday Tag

Since Christmas will soon be here, I wanted to share this traditional holiday tag with you.  You can create this Into the Woods Gift Tag to use on a gift bag or wrapped package.  It’s perfect for all your holiday needs and can come together quickly.  I love the fir tree in the Winter Woods stamp set and with the coordinating In The Woods Framelits Dies, it creates a dimensional effect.  You can also get these products in a bundle and save 10%.

First of all, just stamp two trees and use the large tree and smaller tree Dies to cut them out.  With the tip of your Bone Folder, lift the tree boughs on the smaller cut piece and then attach to the larger tree with Mini Dimensionals.  Lastly, add that “little extra” touch, and use the Shimmery White Embossing Paste on the top tree layer boughs.  It’s great to see the effect on the tag.

The tag base is created by cutting two layering ovals using Old Olive and Whisper White cardstocks.  Stamp the greeting using Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin’ pad and add some gems around the base.  Also, add the various ribbons to complete the traditional Christmas look.  I hope these will help you to complete your final packaging and preparations as we close in on Christmas.
You can get all these items from my online store.

Beautiful Detailed Baubles

This holiday card features the Detailed Baubles Thinlits from Stampin’ Up!  and is a card that can be made rather quickly.  At this busy time of year, simple is a good thing!  Also, check out the thinlits  in my online store – they are on SALE (while quantities last!)

Using the Detailed Baubles dies cut the Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper which is from the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper stack.  Next use the 2-1/4″ punch for the round ornament to cut  Old Olive cardstock.  This will create a base for the glimmer ornament piece.  Since there is not a die or punch for the oblong ornament, use the Big Shot Embossing Mat (SALE item) and the oblong ornament thinlit to emboss a piece of the Old Olive cardstock.  After embossing, trim around the outer rim of the embossed Old Olive ornament.  With the embossing, the oblong ornament fits perfectly inside the cutouts of the glimmer paper.  Attach the glimmer ornament pieces using the Fine-tip Glue Pen.

Card using the beautiful Detailed Baubles thinlits from Stampin' Up! and Joyous Glimmer Paper

Card Assembly:

Create card base using Real Red cardstock (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″)  and top with a layer of Old Olive cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″).  Cut a top decorative layer from Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″).  Attach the ornaments to the decorate layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Thread 1/8″ Real Red ribbon through top of ornaments and adhere to back of designer series paper.  With adhesive, attach designer series paper layer to the card base.   Complete the card by stamping the greeting tag with Old Olive Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Use punch to cut the tag shape.  Both the greeting and punch are in the Christmas Traditions Punch Box. To give the tag some definition against the DSP, sponge around the edges with the Old Olive ink.  Complete the card by attaching small red bows to the top of the ornaments.

Christmas Treat Bags

One of the projects from this month’s class are the Christmas Treat Bags embellished with tags.  The tags use the Making Spirits Bright and Spirited Snowmen stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!.  This time of year is busy with time being precious.   Creating Christmas treat bags with special tags are quick to make and a joy to give.  As a special treat, I baked Christmas Bulb cookies for class attendees to add to the cellophane bag with the May Your Christmas be Bright tag.   Holiday M & M’s fill the bag with the snowman tag.  These bags are fun to make and have on hand when you wish to give someone “just a little something”.

Christmas Tags & Treat Bags

May Your Christmas Be Bright Tag:

The Christmas cookie bag tag uses the Making Christmas Bright stamp set.  Stamp the sentiment with Real Red and Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pads onto Whisper White cardstock.  Do you notice the cookie icing colors?  They just so happen to coordinate with the tag colors!  The cookie fits perfectly inside the 3″ x 6″ cellophane bag.  Create a touch of bling using the Christmas Bulb Builder punch to cut the Joyous Noel 6″ x 6″ Glimmer paper and a scrap of Silver Foil paper creating a shiny bulb.  The Detailed Trio Punch softens the edges of the Real Red Cardstock tag base and the sentiment layer.   Finish the tag by punching a hole with the 1/8″ handheld circle punch a tying a bow around the bag with Real Red 3/8″ cotton ribbon.

Spirited Snowman Tag:

The Snowman tag uses the Spirited Snowmen Stamp set.  This has become one of my favorite snowmen stamp sets!  Stamp the snowman using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the Whisper White cardstock. Cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and color the snowman image using  Stampin’ Blends.  The snowman in the photo colors are Call Me Clover light, Pumpkin Pie dark, Real Red light, Soft Suede light, Smoky Slate light, Basic Black dark.  Or use your favorite Stampin’ Blends colors!  To add a touch of glitter, use clear Wink of Stella on  the rim and pom pom on the cap.   The “For You” sentiment is from Snow is Glistening Stamp set (discontinued).  Use the Layering Ovals Thinlits Dies to cut the Call Me Clover base layer.  Finish by filling the 2″ x 8″ Cellophane Bag with your treat and use Call Me Clover 1/8″ grosgrain ribbon to tie the bag.

The Year-End Clearance sale starts on December 5.  Follow this link, Shop Now, to check out the Clearance items from the Holiday Catalog.  Quantities are limited and available while supplies last.  The stamp sets and items from the Holiday Catalog for this project maybe on the list so now would be the time to purchase the stamps!

Check back soon for another holiday project idea! Happy creating.
