Last post the card for our granddaughter’s birthday was shared and in this post, I’m sharing the birthday card for our grandson’s 9th birthday. March is a busy month with family birthday celebrations (our version of March Madness!) so if it seems lots of birthday cards are posted, there’s good reason for it. When the stamp sets for Sale-a-bration were released, the Epics Celebration stamp set was one of the first sets ordered as I knew it was perfect for creating a card for Alex. He loves rock music and recently started playing the guitar. His birthday celebration was a lot of fun and in his words “the card is cool!”
Reminder: The last day of Sale-a-Bration is March 31 so there are only a couple of days left to select special items with minimum orders. To view items available, visit my Shop Now tab at the top of my posts.
Recently our granddaughter, Brooklynn, celebrated her first birthday! It was a fun time and since the party theme was bunnies I decided to use the “Sweet Little Something” stamp set from the Occasions Catalog and the Large Numbers Framelits dies from the Annual Catalog to create her birthday card. The colors of Berry Burst, Flirty Flamingo and Powder Pink on Whisper White cardstock created the perfect bunny! Gold Glimmer Paper was used for the number one and a cardstock base of Berry Burst and Powder Pink were used.
It’s been awhile since posting and you may have noticed some minor changes to my blog. I’ve been working behind the scenes learning the new layout but stay tuned – you’re going to be flooded with posts of projects waiting to be shared.
Reminder: Sale-a-Bration ends on March 31 and Stampin’ Up! has just added some additional products that can be selected with your minimum order of $50 (before shipping & taxes). Click here to Shop Now .
This month’s card class was “All About Birthdays”. One of the cards highlighted the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Cake Soiree Stamp Set/Sweet Cake Framelits Bundle. When designing the card for the class, I selected to make a shutter card as it truly highlights the beauty of the DSP and the stamp bundle.

At this time last year, I shared a birthday card for a friend’s mother, Ms. Lorraine, who was celebrating her 97th birthday. This year we celebrated her 98th birthday so naturally a special card was in order. For the card, I combined the flower from the Birthday Blooms stamp set and the sentiment from the Number of Years stamp set. The Large Numbers Framelits Dies were used to cut the celebratory number. Powder Pink cardstock was used for the base and for cutting the number. The flower was stamped using Archival Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Stampin’ Write Markers in Blushing Bride, Old Olive and So Saffron were used to color the flower. Notice that the large flower was only outlined with the pink. The olive green layer is found in the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP) package. The 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon in Powder Pink was used to complete the card.

Have you seen the new Birthday Memories Suite from Stampin’ Up!? It’s super cute and is full of fun. The moment that I saw it in the catalog, it went to the top of my wish list. The Birthday Delivery stamps and with the coordinating Birthday Friends Framelits Dies make it easy to create a variety of projects. Best of all, the framelits dies coordinate with the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper (DSP) so no fussy cutting! The fox and banner in the featured card were all cut from the DSP using the framelits.
