Feb 18, 2019 | Cards, Designer Series Paper, Floral, Occasions Catalog 2019, Thinking of You |
Have you seen the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper on page 11 in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog? It is a gorgeous paper! The beauty of the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper is the elegant design. In my opinion, the catalog photos do not do justice for the paper! A vellum print from the designer paper creates the primary background layer on the card below. The Floral Romance Suite includes the Wonderful Romance bundle with the Wonderful Romance Stamp Set and Wonderful Framelits Dies. The sentiment and coordinating leaf embellishments are easily stamped and cut using the Wonderful Romance bundle. The beauty of the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) is that you do not need to add a lot of embellishment…let the paper be the feature!

Materials:
- Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper (5″ x 3-3/4″)
- Wonderful Romance Bundle
- Pear Pizzazz Cardstock (card base: 4-1/4″ x 11″ – score at 5-1/2″; 3″ x 3-1/2″ for leaves)
- Scrap of Mossy Meadow cardstock for small leaves
- Whisper White Cardstock (card layer: 4″ x 5-1/4″, 2-1/4″ x 2-1/2″ for sentiment)
- Fresh Fig Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad
- Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad
- Fresh Fig 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon
- Frosted Flower Embellishments
- Adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals
Card Directions:
- Fold the Pear Pizzazz cardstock at score line to create a side fold card base.
- Attach the Whisper White cardstock layer to the Pear Pizzazz card base with adhesive.
- Use adhesive to attach the Floral Romance DSP to the Whisper White cardstock layer.
- Stamp sentiment from the Wonderful Romance Stamp Set with Fresh Fig Classic Stampin’ Ink onto the small piece of Whisper White cardstock. Use the die from the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies to cut the oval shape.
- Stamp the large leaves shape using Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Ink onto the Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Cut using coordinating framelit die. Use the small leaves dies to cut and emboss Pear Pizzazz cardstock to create three (3) leaves.
- With the leaf framelit (stem with 5 leaves), cut a scrap of Mossy Meadow cardstock. Trim the two (2) small leaves to use on front of sentiment.
- Layer the Pear Pizzazz leaf and the Mossy Meadow leaves behind the sentiment oval. Attach to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Embellish the front of the card with the individual leaves and the Frosted Flower embellishments.
- Finish by adding a triple loop bow tied using Fresh Fig 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon.

Aug 10, 2018 | 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, Animal Outing, Technique |
As you know from previous posts, one of my favorite bundle sets in the annual catalog is the Animal Outing Bundle. This bundle features the Animal Outing Stamp Set and Animal Friends Thinlits Dies. For this card, I knew that I wanted a card using the “Wild About You” sentiment because I wanted to use the Frames Elements. (Be sure to read this entire post to learn how to get your sentiment to fit the Frames Elements.).
Wild About You Comes Together
I probably should mention that I love the Berry Burst cardstock with the green and gray pieces of DSP. Sprigs of greenery were cut from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock using the Animal Friends Thinlits. Additionally, greenery was added using the Leaf Ribbon. As you can guess, this card is for someone special! You’ll note the rhino with the bird was cut from the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper (DSP) using the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies. I love it when there are dies to match the DSP!

Features Stampin’ Up! Animal Outing Bundle to create a “Wild About You”
Because I could not find a thinlit that coordinated with the Frames Elements, I came up with an easy solution. So as a result, I cut the sentiment to fit inside frame element piece for the card. The steps are below:
Above all, it’s easy-peasy! Seems like it’s a no brainer.
Finally, don’t forget to embellish the interior of your card! Also, it’s a great wow factor. Another great perk is the extra personal touch that will certainly impress your family and friends. Enjoy!

Sep 11, 2017 | Cards, Floral, Fun Folds |
One of my favorite stamp sets in the newly released Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is Painted Harvest. The sunflower stamp can be used with a variety of colors to create beautiful stamped flowers. In a recent class, I decided to mix it up and use colors that coordinated with the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper (DSP). Don’t you love the look of the flower stamped using Emerald Envy and Lemon Lime Twist inks? Note that the flower stamp is a Two Step stamp and the first step stamp may appear to only partially stamp. This actually is the way the stamp is designed and not a flaw with the stamp. When the second step is stamped, the flower becomes complete. It’s also recommended that when using photopolymer stamps to use a piercing mat to ensure even pressure when stamping. The fun fold card design was CASED from
Janet Wakeland with just a few slight modifications.

Sep 7, 2017 | Cards, Floral, Textured Impressions Embossing Folders |
A great method for adding a touch of elegance to a card is to use a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF). In the card below, the Garden Trellis TIEF was used to emboss not just the cardstock but also the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper (DSP). When constructing the card, attach the pieces of DSP to the cardstock layer then insert into the TIEF and run through the Big Shot. Both layers are embossed at the same time and the embossing adds that little extra touch of dimension creating a subtle elegance to the card. Best of all, it’s quick and easy!

May 7, 2013 | Cards, Floral |
What crazy weather! Not sure what weather you’ve been experiencing, but this past weekend those of us in Georgia were able to revisit February weather. It certainly was not our normal May warmth! Let’s hope that we’ll all have sunshine and warmer temperatures soon.
For Mishmash Monday, I’m sharing three card samples prepared for next week’s “Flowers are Blooming” class. Each was prepared using a different stamp set and different techniques. The first card was made using my favorite flower stamp – Secret Garden and the inspiration for the design was from a card prepared by Brandy Cox.
 |
| Happy Birthday card using Secret Garden Stamp set |
The card base is Daffodil Delight card stock (CS). The first layer is Whisper White CS which has been stamped using three stamps (large flower, small solid flower and leaves) from the Secret Garden Stamp set. The larger flower was stamped using Tangerine Tango Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad. The next step was to use the solid flower to stamp the center of the larger flower using Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad. The stamp off-stamp on technique was used – i.e. ink stamp, stamp first onto a scrap paper, then stamp onto your card. This removes some of the ink from the stamp thus the stamped image is not as intense in color and creates a shadow effect. For the leaves, Old Olive Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad was used and the image was stamped three times before re-inking. This shadow effect around the flowers makes it appear that the flowers are peeking through the leaves thus adding dimension. Another flower and two leaves were stamped onto scrap Whisper White CS and cut using Secret Garden Framelits in the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine. The Happy Birthday greeting was stamped onto Whisper White CS using Tangerine Tango Classic Stampin’ Pad and the Hostess Wacky Wishes Stamp Set. The Labels Collection Framelits set was used to cut the stamped label and a label was cut from Daffodil Delight CS. The greeting was then layered onto the Daffodil Delight label. The cut flower and leaves were attached to the side of the label using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Additional Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to attach the greeting with flower to the card. Unless otherwise noted, SNAIL adhesive was used to put card layers together. A Pearl Basic Jewel was added to the center of the cut flower. As an added touch, the Whisper White CS interior card liner was stamped in a lower corner to add a finishing touch with ample room left for adding a personalized message. The Whisper White Envelope was also stamped.

| Envelope stamped with Secret Garden Stamp Set |
The second card uses Betsy’s Blossoms and again, I’m using the Brights Collection CS and Stampin’ Classic Inks (do you think I’m ready for summer and bright colors?)!!! Regal Rose and Pumpkin Pie ink colors were used to stamp the flowers and Staz On Jet Black ink was used to stamp the saying from the Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set (retiring soon!). The saying (again, thinking of sunshine!) was cut using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Collection. Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to attach the label. The card liner, as well as, the envelope were also stamped.

The last card is a cheerful card that was quick to prepare. It utilizes the Summer Smooches DSP (retiring soon!) layered onto a card base of Daffodil Delight CS. The Bright Blossoms Stamp Set was used to stamp the image onto Whisper White CS that had been cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelit. The top portion of the frame piece was cut using scissors after attaching to the Summer Smooches DSP (refer to photo). On a scrap piece of Whisper White CS, the flower image was stamped again. Then using paper snips, the vase shape was cut and then using Stampin’ Dimensionals was layered over the stamped vase image on the Whisper White CS accent piece. A greeting was stamped and embellishments added.
