Dec 27, 2019 | 2019 Holiday Catalog, Limited-Time, Retiring Products |
Just popping in for a quick reminder that the Year-End Closeout is coming to an end soon!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! My Christmas Day was lots of fun and full of laughter. My two grandchildren provided hours of amusement. The fun of watching them open their gifts and seeing their reactions was priceless. Then in the evening, we were entertained with a musical concert. Granddaughter Brooklynn (2 1/2) was lead singer, grandson Alex (10) played cardboard drums and along with his mom, Karen, were backup singers. It was definitely a perfect way to end the day!

The Year-End Closeout from Stampin’ Up! deadline is approaching. The last day to order products from the 2019 Holiday Catalog is January 2, 2020.
Click here to check out the Year-End Closeout Products and the Discounted Product offerings. You’ll want to place your orders sooner rather than later as products are likely to sell-out closer to the ordering deadline. Plus if any of your favorite stamp sets is retiring, be sure grab it now.

Dec 20, 2019 | 2019 Holiday Catalog, Christmastime Is Here, Gifts, Uncategorized |
Oh what fun! This Christmas season some of the demonstrators from the Luv 2 Stamp group are participating in Secret Santa. Each participant is to send three small gifts packaged using Stampin’ Up! products. In our third gift, we include a card unveiling our name. The first two of my Secret Santa gifts have arrived. So, I am sharing the creative packaging created by my Secret Santa.
Clever Gift Wrapping for Secret Santa Gift #1!
The first Secret Santa gift to arrive was a pack of Kraft pillow boxes. My Secret Santa put the pillow boxes inside of a plastic Stampin’ Up! dies envelope. The dies envelope is wrapped with a wide band of the Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper. The sentiment and other elements of the packaging are also from the Christmastime is Here Suite Bundle. What a great way to recycle the plastic envelopes!

Notice the cute 3″ x 3″ note card? It is decorated with the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper. For embellishments, Beautiful Boughs Dies create the perfect touch.
More clever gift wrapping on Secret Santa Gift #2…
The second of the Secret Santa gifts also involves recycling Stampin’ Up! product. It’s the box from the Let It Snow Embellishment Kit and embellished with the Real Red Ruched Ribbon bow. Inside the box, two small packages of Ghiradelli chocolate caramels fit perfectly. The sturdy box is a great size for a variety of small gifts. Small gift tags are created using the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series paper and the Snowman Season Bundle.

When the last gift arrives, I will know the identity of my Secret Santa. I am curious to find out who it is. Plus, I’m eager to see what creative packaging will be used for gift 3.
Search your stamping supplies!
If you still have holiday gift wrapping, search through your Stampin’ Up! supplies to see what you can recycle. You may have the perfect gift packing! In addition, you can use different holiday papers and stamp sets to create simple embellishments. Below are some of the products that were used for embellishing the gift packaging. You’ll notice that many holiday themed items are on the retirement list. Therefore if there’s a particular paper or stamp set you like, be sure to place your order before January 3, 2020.
Thanks for stopping by! Check back as after I learn the identity of my Secret Santa, I’ll share it with you.

Dec 2, 2019 | 2019 Holiday Catalog, 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Brightly Gleaming Product Suite, Christmas, Copper Tea Tins, Gifts, Quick & Easy, Uncategorized |
It’s hard to believe that it’s December already. Since Thanksgiving was later this year, it seems Christmas will be here in a flash. I spent the weekend putting up a few holiday decorations and decided that this year, I would scale back in comparison to past years. What’s great is the decorating is complete. I can now relax and enjoy the holiday touches.
That brings me to today’s project, an embellished Copper Tea Tin. Have you seen the Copper Tea Tins in the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog? You can find them on page 173. Four tins come in the package. The tins are perfect for embellishing and for creating a quick gift. I plan to fill the tea tins with small cookies and candies for holiday gifting. A huge thank you to Patty Bennett for the inspiration! For this tin, the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper creates the backdrop for the embellishing. However, this particular Designer Series Paper is no longer available. If you do not have this particular paper, no worries as next week I’ll provide alternatives for embellishing the Copper Tea Tin.

Details for embellishing the Copper Tea Tin:
- Wrap a piece of 3″ x 12″ of Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper around the Copper Tea Tin, secure with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
- Cut a coordinating piece of the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper, 2″ x 12″ and wrap it around the first layer of Designer Series Paper.
- Color the 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon using the Dark Pretty Peacock Blends. Set aside to dry for a few minutes while working on other project elements.
- Using the Stitched Stars Dies, cut a star from Very Vanilla cardstock. Layer a large star from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements on top. TIP: use a glue dot in the center of the star to attach it to the Very Vanilla.
- On Whisper White cardstock, stamp the holly from the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set using Mossy Meadow Classic Ink Pad. Use a Blender Pen to pull the ink from the stamped image and color the holly leaves. Fussy cut using Paper Snips.
- For the berries, use Night of Navy Classic Ink Pad to stamp another holly. Again, use a Blender Pen to pull the ink from the stamped lines to color the berries. Fussy cut the berries and add to the holly leaves with Mini Glue Dots.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Tiny Keepsakes stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock using Night of Navy Classic Ink Pad. Cut with the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies.
- Assemble layers: first wrap the Classic Weave ribbon around the tin and tie on side in a knot. Add the star using Tear & Tape adhesive. Next add the sentiment tag and the Holly onto the star using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Complete by embellishing with Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
The tin is now ready to be filled with goodies!

Nov 27, 2019 | 2019 Holiday Catalog, Christmas, Gifts, Tags |
Ready for another another embellished store bought item? While shopping recently, I spied a set of plaid Christmas tree dish towels. Immediately, I thought of the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper (DSP) and how easy it would be to create a coordinating gift tag for the dishtowels. Okay, I know you’re thinking that I must be crazy when shopping to think of things that coordinate with Stampin’ Up! products. Maybe I am just a bit but you have to admit, the dishtowels coordinate perfectly with the Wrapped in Plaid DSP. The Pine Tree Punch and the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set were also used. Save 10% by purchasing the punch and stamp set as a bundle. By creating a Wrapped in Plaid 3-D Gift Tag, the dishtowel has become a simple, inexpensive gift to present during this season of giving.

Steps to make a Wrapped in Plaid 3-D Gift Tag:
- Create a tag base using 2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Real Red cardstock. Punch one end with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. Round the corners on the bottom of the tag with the Detailed Trio Punch.
- Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 3-1/4″ x 1-3/4″. Use the Detailed Trio Punch, to round the four corners. Stamp HO HO HO from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set onto the bottom section of the Whisper White cardstock panel using Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad. Attach to the tag base using Snail Adhesive. If desired, cut another piece of the Whisper White cardstock to add to the back of the tag and stamp with a To/From stamp.
- Use the Pine Tree Punch to cut 3 trees from the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper. TIP: punch two from the “front” side of the paper and one from the “back or reverse” side. By doing this, the trees will align properly. Score down the center of each of the punched pine trees and fold. Attach one side of each of the trees to one another using multipurpose liquid adhesive. Be sure to align the tree branches so they match. After creating the tree, attach to the tag above the HO HO HO. Embellish tree top with a Red Rhinestone. See photos below on how to punch and assemble.

- If you are using the tag to embellish a dish towel, tie around towel using the Real Red 1″ Ruched Ribbon. Tie three Jingle Bells together with Whisper White Baker’s Twine and wrap around knot of the ribbon bow.
When shopping, look for some dishtowels to embellish as a quick and easy gift. I found the towel for this project at TJ Maxx and the dishtowel came in a package of two towels.

Nov 24, 2019 | 2019 Holiday Catalog, Tutorials |
Hi everyone! I’ve been MIA the past two weeks and am finally am catching up. Seems time literally flies! Last weekend, Stampin’ Up! hosted OnStage events for demonstrators. Basically it’s mini-conventions held in various locations. One of the highlights of the event is the release of the January-June mini catalog. I’ll be sharing projects from it starting in a couple of weeks.
For me, the Atlanta event location was close so prior the official Stampin’ Up! event, I hosted a one-day Pack & Play Craft Escape for 60 demonstrators. As it was a large undertaken, Joni, one of my Playtime with Paper team members, co-hosted with me. Plus several other team members were able to help assemble the make ‘n take kits prior to the event. The event was definitely worth the extra effort and teamwork as the day was a blast! The Pack & Play Craft Escape provided attendees with eight make ‘n takes. In addition, three guest speakers offered training and additional project ideas.
Below is a photo of the make ‘n takes.

If you would like detailed instructions on making these projects, I have a tutorial available for you to purchase. It includes instructions for 2 cards, 2 gift cards, a wine tag, a hand sanitizer holder, a 3-D mini cup and an embellished Baker’s Box. The cost for the PDF tutorial is $15.00 (US). Email me at creativestampingwithMargaret@gmail.com to purchase the tutorial and I will send you the PayPal payment link. Once payment is received, I’ll email you the PDFs.
Or if you’d like to receive the tutorial for FREE, place an online order for $50 or more between now and December 10th. The order must be placed through my online store. When I receive confirmation of your order, I will email you the tutorial. This is a $15.00 value.
Below are a few photos from the Pack & Play Craft Escape.

It was a fun filled day and I look forward to hosting another Pack & Play Craft Escape!
Thanks for stopping by. I’m back on schedule and will be posting project ideas again this week so check in again.
