Feb 18, 2021 | Birthday, Cards, Ice Cream Corner, January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, Product Suites, Shaker Cards |
Today, I am sharing a modified birthday shaker card featuring the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set and the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper. Really, it’s a “faux” shaker card but best of all, it’s easier and quicker to make than a traditional shaker card. Tips for creating it are below. Since my grandson has an upcoming birthday and loves ice cream, I knew the Ice Cream Corner Suite would be perfect to use for creating his birthday card. And for additional fun, a shaker card is always a perfect go-to design.
Tips for a Modified Birthday Shaker Card:
- To create the shaker portion, cut designer series paper to desired layer size. For the feature card, the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper is cut 3-3/4″ x 5″. Insert the designer series paper into a clear medium envelope. Add your shaker elements such as the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles. Seal the envelope flap, then fold the excess envelope sides to the back and tape down to hold in place. Use Tear & Tape to attach to your base.
- For an extra touch, the Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped first with Cinnamon Cider then stamped again with Versamark. Top with clear emboss powder and heat set. NOTE: Stamparatus is used to ensure stamping accuracy. Use paper snips to trim around the lettering.
- A full list of the products for this card are listed below under Project Materials.
Hopefully, you won’t be bored with the slew of birthday cards that I will be sharing for the next month. In our family, there are lots of March birthdays so it’s the current design focus.
The modified birthday card was lots of fun to make. Add a comment if you have questions on recreating the card or would like me to make a demonstration video!

Sep 14, 2020 | 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, 2020-2022 In Colors, Baby, Cards, Uncategorized |
This weekend I was able to attend a baby shower for my daughter-in-law. In another month, we will be welcoming a new granddaughter, Camryn, to the family! The decor for baby Camryn’s room is jungle animals with a focus on zebras (as selected by big sister, Brooklynn). So, the Zany Zebras stamp set created a perfect baby card. The 2020-2022 In-Color Magenta Madness adds a bright background highlighting the zebra. More features of this fun card are below.
Notice the zebra is in a window. Not only is the zebra in the window, it also wobbles. Such fun to create a motion card. I found the card wobbles on Amazon but if you want to keep the zebra stationary, Stampin’ Dimensionals will secure the zebra.
Zany Zebras Baby Card Details:
- Create card base using Thick Whisper White cardstock (4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″ for a side fold).
- Cut a piece of the Magenta Madness 2020-2022 In-Color Designer Series Paper 4″ x 5-1/4″ and attach to the card front.
- Stamp the zebra onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (approximately 3″ x 3″) using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. With paper snips, fussy cut the zebra. (while you’re stamping, be sure to stamp a zebra on the envelope too!)
- Select placement area for zebra. Then, use the third largest Layering Circles Die cut a window into the card front.
- Create a frame for the window cut-out by using the second & third largest Layering Circles Dies to cut a piece of Magenta Madness cardstock. Add the frame to the cut-out.
- To showcase the zebra, add a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Magenta Madness cardstock to the card interior. Center the zebra in the frame and adhere with either a card wobble or Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- For the sentiment, add a 1-1/4″ x 3″ strip of Basic Black cardstock to a strip of the Foam Adhesive Sheet. Cut the word “baby” using the Well Written Dies set. Stamp the word “for” onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and use paper snips to cut into a small rectangle around the word. The word for comes from the Well Said Stamp Set. (The dies and stamp set are available as a bundle – saving you 10%).
- Complete the card by adding the sentiment to the lower right area of the card front.
Not only is the Zany Zebras baby card a fun, cheerful card, it is was a fun card to create!

Apr 22, 2020 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Cards, January-June 2020 Mini Catalog, Uncategorized |
Today’s card is the result of an idea that’s been floating in my mind since the release of the Mini Catalog. I thought it would be fun to create a card with the theme of “Lipstick on A Pig” combining the Dressed to Impress and This Little Piggy Stamp sets. And of course, the color of Lovely Lipstick has to be used. It’s amazing how quickly my design vision came together! Below is my “lipstick on a pig”card:
Details so you can create “Lipstick on a Pig”:
- For the card base, cut Petal Pink cardstock (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″). Score at 4-1/4″ and fold.
- Second layer is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.
- Top layer uses a piece of 5″ x 3-3/4″ Best Dressed Designer Series Paper.
For the pig:
- Cut a piece of 3″ x 4-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Stitched Nested Labels dies.
- Select pig stamp from the This Little Piggy Stamp Set. Cover the sentiment below the pig using a small post-it note. With the post-it note in place, ink the pig stamp with Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad. Remove the post-it note and stamp the pig on the right side of the Whisper White Stitched Label cardstock piece.
- Color the pig body using the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Markers. Use the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Marker to color the pig’s hooves. Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Marker colors the grass and the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker colors the ground around the pig.
- Use the “kisses” stamp from This Little Piggy Stamp Set to add kisses on the pig’s body. TIP: Instead of using the ink pad, use the Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Write Marker to color each of the kisses and stamp onto pig. This prevents over-inking the stamp.
- Next, stamp the sentiment, Hello Gorgeous, from the Dressed to Impress Stamp Set onto the label using the Lovely Lipstick Classic Stampin’ Pad. Then, attach label to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finishing touches:
- Stamp the tube of lipstick using Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock. Color with using the Lovely Lipsticks Stampin’ Blends Markers and the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers. Use the Color Lifter to assist with shading on the tube portion.
- Cut the lipstick tube using the coordinating die from the All Dressed Up Dies. Add to the card using Mini Glue Dots.
- Complete the card by adding a small bow using the Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon to the edge of the label.
Have fun creating your own “lipstick on a pig” card!
Thank you for stopping by today and happy crafting!

Jun 12, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, 2019-2021 In-Colors, Cards, Note Cards, Over The Moon, Uncategorized |
Yes, in the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, we have cows! The Over the Moon stamp set will have you smiling. The set is so darn cute, you can’t help but be happy. I have had lots of fun using the set. For the open house, I made a couple of cards and a tag to attach to a mini-milk carton filled with milk duds.
Card #1 Details:
In addition to highlighting the Over the Moon stamp set on this first card, it also features the new In-Color Terracotta Tile. The card base is Terracotta Tile cardstock with a layer of Whisper White cardstock. The top layer is the coordinating gingham check from the 2019-2021 In-Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Pack. A strip of coordinating Terracotta Tile Scalloped Linen Ribbon tucked below the cow layer adds that “little extra something”. Stamp the cow onto Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and color with Stampin’ Blends. The colors on the cow’s spots below are Smoky Slate Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends with a touch of Light Basic Black Stampin’ Blends. To create the shadow effect, use the light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. The Ivory Stampin’ Blend highlights the nostrils of the cow. Stamp the sentiment with the Terracotta Tile Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad. Lastly, cut the shape using the large circle Stitched Shapes Die. Doesn’t this cow make you smile?
Card #2 Details:
For the second card, one of the new Scalloped Note Cards creates the card base along with another of the Over the Moon stamps. The Scalloped Note Cards and coordinating envelopes help simplify card making. The set contains 5 each of four colors: Balmy Blue, Old Olive, Light Pink and Terracotta Tile. To recreate the card below, stamp the cow onto Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Color using the cow spots using the Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends. Complete the coloring using Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends for the boots, Old Olive for the leaves and Daffodil Delight for the daisy center. Oh don’t forget, color the cow’s horns and nostrils using the Ivory Stampin’ Blends. Cut using the Layering Ovals Dies. Finish by stamping the sentiment onto a strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock and tying a bow with Whisper White Baker’s Twine.
Last but not least…
are the milk cartons with the cow tag. Talk about a fun project! Several of the items for this project are retired product but the cows just scream to be added to a milk carton! The milk cartons are cut using a retired Milk Carton die but you can find ready cut milk cartons available on Amazon. The clothes pins to hold the tag are also retired but the new Mini Library Clips would work wonderfully. Of course, I forgot to add them to my order! The Love What You Do stamp set has the perfect stamps to create the “cow spots” on the milk carton! The cow was colored as in card #2 and cut using the 2″ circle punch. The Starburst Punch creates the base of either Terracotta Tile or Pretty Peacock cardstock which showcases the cow. All attendees at the Open House were able to take a milk carton home with them.
I hope these cows make you smile too! Be sure to order the Over the Moon stamp set and have fun creating a variety of projects. Contact me (CreativestampingwithMargaret@gmail.com) if you need assistance placing your order.
