Each month I like to include a little something extra in the card kit to-go packages. Since this month’s theme featured products from the Rustic Harvest Suite, I decided to decorate the Peekaboo Treat Bags using the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper. It’s the first time that I have used the Peekaboo Treat Bags but it certainly won’t be the last! Plans are already in place to use them for treat giving this holiday season. The treat bags are the perfect size for small treats, food safe and a great price! And best of all, decorating the peekaboo treat bags is simple. So be sure to add these treat bags to your next Stampin’ Up! order.
Project Materials:
- Peekaboo Treat Bags
- Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper
- Basic White Cardstock (scraps for stamping leaves & sentiment)
- Hello Harvest Bundle (for leaves)
- Cup of Tea Bundle (for tag)
- Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin’ Pad
- Linen Thread
- Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive
- Mini Glue Dots
- Stampin’ Dimensionals
Instruction Tips:
- Cut the desired pattern from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper. The width for both top and bottom panels is 3-15/16″. On my samples, the cut dimensions for the top panel is 3-15/16″ x 1-7/8″. There was some variation on the bottom panel height of the peekaboo bags so I recommend measuring the panel to determine the height you desire. The height varied from 1″ -1’12”.
- Use multipurpose liquid adhesive to attach the designer series paper panels to the peekaboo treat bag panels.
- Stamp leaves onto Basic White cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink pad and cut with the coordinating die.
- Using the Mossy Meadow ink, stamp “enjoy” onto the Basic White cardstock and cut with the tag die. (both the stamp and tag are from the Cup of Tea bundle).
- Now it’s time to add your treats to your Peekaboo Treat Bag!!! To go with the fall theme, I added Pumpkin Spice and Apple Flavored candies – yum!!!
- Wrap Linen Thread three times around the top band of the Peekaboo Treat Bag positioning the twine in the notches on each side of the bag.
- Attach the die cut leaves and tag to the top band over the twine.
- Complete by embellishing the tag top with a Linen Thread bow.

Today’s card features a fun fold. It’s a Dutch door birthday card featuring the Happiness Abounds Bundle and the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper. The Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper is gorgeous! Best of all, focal flowers on the front panel are easily cut using the coordinating Blossoming Happiness dies. Participants in the recent Stamp-a-Stack had fun making three of these cards.
How do you create a Dutch door card? Start with your card base (4-1/4″ x 11″) and score at 5-1/2″. Next, cut the front panel in half at 2-1/8″ and then trim along the fold seam from the top to intersect and remove the top piece. In the photo below, you can see the decorated panel and card interior.

- Happiness Abounds Bundle
- Coastal Cabana Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 11″ (score/cut as noted above)
- Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper: 5-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ (interior panel); die cut 3 of the large flowers and 2 smaller flowers from designer paper
- Basic White Cardstock: 5-1/4″ x 4″ (interior panel); 2″ x 5-1/4″ (die cut with Blossoming Happiness panel die); 1/2″ x 3-1/2″ (for sentiment); scrap to stamp/die cut leaves
- Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad
- Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin’ Pad
- Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends

And for embellishing the envelope, stamp with Coastal Cabana ink and color using the Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.

Just in time for fall, this month the Simple Suite Stampers are featuring the Rustic Harvest Suite from the Stampin’ Up! July – December 2022 Mini Catalog. The creative team consists of twelve Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from across the United States. Each month, we create a project focusing on a particular suite of products. The projects are kept simple so you can complete beautiful projects in a short time frame.
My project features a pumpkin stamped and die cut using the Hello Harvest Bundle. The Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper serves as the background with the greeting highlighted by using the tear technique on the corner of the paper.
