September 3D Tutorial Bundle & Blog Hop

It’s a new month and to kick it off, we have the September 3D Tutorial Bundle!  We have the talented Patti Dolan joining us as a guest designer for this month’s tutorial bundle. In addition to the tutorial bundle, the team is featuring a blog hop!  We’re each sharing a second project created using the same products to coordinate with our tutorial project.  You’ll find the blog hop links at the bottom of this post. This month, the team is highlighting projects for Halloween.

Remember, the projects designed for the 3D tutorial bundle aren’t available elsewhere online.  Therefore, you’ll receive EXCLUSIVE projects in the tutorial bundle.  In addition, we’re including both Imperial and Metric measurements for each project.

Now for a Sneak Peek of the September 3D projects…

Sneak Peek

Here’s my bonus project to coordinate with my September 3D tutorial project.  It’s a “spidery” Halloween card featuring the Magic in this Night Suite.

Halloween Card

Card Details:
  • Create a card base using Blackberry Bliss cardstock (5-1/2″ x 11″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″).
  • Next, cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock to 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Texture emboss using the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder.  After embossing, use a light touch to apply Clear Wink of Stella across the web.
  • Cut two pieces of the 1-1/2″ Metallic Mesh Ribbon approximately 6-1/2″.  Pull and stretch the ribbon to slightly widen.  Then, wrap one of the pieces across the center of the Basic Black layer and adhere.  With the other piece of ribbon, tie around the ribbon attached and wrap to the back of the card.  Use Stampin’ Seal to adhere.  See photo below –
  • Add the “web” layer to the card base using Stampin’ Seal adhesive.
  • Using the labels dies in the Halloween Magic Dies, cut a piece of the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper (4-1/2″ x 3″).  NOTE: Place the smaller die inside of the larger die to cut a frame to use on the card interior.
  • Stamp Happy Halloween from the Hallows Magic Night Stamp Set onto a 3/4″ x 3-1/4″ strip of Whisper White cardstock using Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin’ Pad.  Add to the center of the small label using Stampin’ Seal and attach to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp one large spider and two small spiders from the Hallows Night Magic Stamp Set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Cut the large spider with the coordinating die from the Halloween Magic Dies and fussy cut the two small spiders.  Add Iridescent Pearls to each of the spider bodies.
  • To complete the card, add the spiders to the card front.  Note: use Glue Dots for the 2 small spiders and a Stampin’ Dimensional for the large spider.
  • Card Interior:

The Magic In This Night Suite offers lots of creative options for Halloween projects.  If you’re a fan of Halloween, you’ll want to add the suite to your craft supplies.

Halloween Coffin Treat Boxes

Happy Friday!  Hope you’ve been having a good week.  Fall temperatures finally arrived in Georgia so it sets the mood for Fall festivities.  Today’s project, Halloween Coffin Treat Boxes, is perfect for Fall craft fairs or for giving treats to friendly Gremlins.  The food safe Coffin Boxes in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog are easy to assemble.  A variety of products in the Monster Bash Suite decorate the Halloween Coffin Treat Boxes shown below.

Coffin Treat Holders

Details for the Coffin Halloween Treat Holder on the Left:

First, texture emboss the lid using the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder before assembling.  Next, assemble the coffin top and bottom using a strong adhesive such as Tear & Tape or Mulitpurpose Liquid Adhesive.  To add definition to the top, swipe the lid across the raised embossed areas using the Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink Pad.  Stamp the mummy and the sentiment from the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock.  After stamping, cut using the coordinating Ornate Frames Dies.  Also, use the dies to cut a scroll frame from Crushed Curry cardstock.  To color the mummy, use either the Crumb Cake Stampin Write Marker or Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  For the border, use the Light Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends.  Adhere the mummy piece to the Crushed Curry frame using Snail Adhesive.  With stampin’ dimensionals, add the piece to the top of the coffin.  Attach sentiment and bow.  Almost forgot… for a fun touch, add Assorted Googly Eyes!

Details for the Coffin Halloween Treat Holder on the Right:

Start by assembling the coffin.  Turn the coffin lid upside down and place onto the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper.  Then, trace around the lid.  Use paper snips to cut the lid around the traced area.  After cutting, sponge the edges of the designer series paper using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Add to the coffin lid using multipurpose liquid adhesive.  TIP:  the multipurpose liquid adhesive allows time to make placement adjustments.  With the Ornate Frames Dies, cut a large scroll from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and a smaller scroll using Basic Black cardstock.  Layer the scrolls.  Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut with the coordinating die.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach to the layered scrolls.  Embellish with Basic Rhinestone Jewels and a Black Glitter Organdy ribbon bow.  Add to the coffin lid.

Isn’t that easy?   And yes, you still have time to order the Coffin Treat Holders and elements for embellishing before Halloween.  For a list of the materials from today’s post, check out the Project Materials list below.

It’s a Monster Bash!

Since Labor Day has come and gone, it signals the transition from summer into fall celebrations.  So despite having temperatures near 100 this week, the monthly card class theme was projects focusing on Fall and Halloween.  One such project is a Halloween card.  It features products from the Monster Bash product bundle.  The Monster Bash Suite is full of coordinating products that will help you prepare for fun Halloween festivities.  Today’s card features the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set, the Ornate Frames Dies, the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder and the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper.  You can purchase the entire Monster Bash Suite (Item #153485).   It includes all the materials on the featured card plus the Coffin Treat Boxes, Basic Black Scalloped Edge Ribbon and Monster Bash Enamel Shapes.  Or if you prefer, the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set and the coordinating Ornate Frames can be purchased in the Spooktacular Bash Bundle

Monster Bash Card Card Details:
  • To form card base, cut Terracotta Tile cardstock (5-1/2″ x 11″, score and fold at 4-1/4″).
  • The next layer is Crushed Curry cardstock (5-1/4″x 4″).  To texture emboss the panel, use the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder.  Attach to the Terracotta Tile card base using Snail Adhesive.
  • On Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the sentiment and the vampire using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  TIP: Use the Stamparatus when stamping (especially for the vampire) so you can double stamp to get a complete stamped image.  After stamping, cut the shapes using the Ornate Frames Dies.  Also, cut a scroll frame from Terracotta Tile cardstock.  Attach the vampire to the scroll using Snail Adhesive.
  • Cut a 2-7/8″x 2-7/8″ square of the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper.  Attach it to a 3″ x 3″ square of Basic Black cardstock with Snail Adhesive. Wrap black ribbon around the square and tie into a knotted bow.  Adhere to the card front using adhesive.
  • Finish card front by adding the vampire scroll and sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To complete the look, stamp the envelope and the card interior with some of the fun stamps from the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set!

Challenging Frights & Delights

Challenging Frights & Delights is my theme for today.  Even though the Paper Pumpkin kits come with instructions and pictures, it’s still fun to take to it another level.  Do something different with the products that they give you.  Maybe you can even add a few other products.  I challenged myself to create something out of the box besides what they designed for us.  So in honor of today – Halloween, I wanted to create something different.  I’m happy how it turned out.

MPP September

For this card, all the elements except the card base (Basic Black, Gorgeous Grape and Whisper White cardstock) are from the September Paper Pumpkin “Frights & Delights” project kit box. I Challenged myself to use the extra elements in the kit to create a Halloween card.  I would love to see what you can do with some additional products and the September Paper Pumpkin kit.  How can you start challenging Frights and Delights with your monthly kit?

I loved that little orange pumpkin the moment I saw it so my mind went to work immediately.  There are other words you can use besides the eeeek.  Halloween cards are always so fun to make because you can really go crazy.  I thought about changing the colors of the bats but preferred them all black.

If you are not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber and want to start, you can sign up here and get your first monthly kit by November 20th.  But you have to sign up by November 10th.  If you sign up after November 10th then December will be your first kit. November will be the last Christmas themed project kit for the year.
