Made My Day – CASE the Catalog Monday

For this week’s CASE the Catalog, I selected the You Made My Day card on Page 36 of the Annual Catalog.  The card uses the Best Bunny Bundle which includes the Best Bunny photopolymer stamp set and the coordinating Bunny Builder Punch.  This week, I did not alter the card but made it as shown in the catalog.  The Best Bunny stamp set is one that can be used for a variety of occasions and as in this case, it’s perfect to send someone letting them know how special they made the day!  Details and tips for making the card are below the photo.Stampin' Up! Best Bunny Bundle

Made My Day with these details for recreating the card:

  1. Thick Whisper White:  5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ to create card base.
  2. Broadway Bound Designer Series Paper (DSP):  Dotted DSP 5 1/2′ x 4 1/4″ for base card front;. gold & black strip 3/4″ x 4″
  3. Gray Granite: 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
  4. Shimmery White: 4″ x 3″
  5. Scraps of Whisper White for stamping bunny face, sentiment and hat using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
  6. Scrap of Basic Black.  Use the Tailored Tag Punch to cut as shown in photo below:

  7.  Use Bunny Builder Punch and cut the bunny face, color the ears using Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends.  Color tophat using Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut.  Layer the bunny face behind the top hat using a mini glue dot.
  8. To create the background for the bunny and sentiment, add a light layer of water diagonally across the Shimmery White cardstock and sprinkle with Yellow Brusho.  I used an Aqua Painter to blend the Brusho with the water.  After the Shimmery White layer has dried, randomly stamp stars using Crushed Curry Ink Pad.
  9. Using small Stitched Shapes circle framelit, cut the sentiment and layer onto circle of Gold Glimmer Paper cut using the 1 1/2″ circle punch.
  10. Assemble by attaching dotted DSP layer to Whisper White card base.  Next attach and center the Granite Gray Cardstock layer using Snail Adhesive.  Add the strip of gold/black stripe DSP and then attach the Shimmery White layer – be sure to offset toward the right of the Gray Granite layer as shown in the photo.
  11. Add the tag piece and the tophat with bunny.
  12. Finish the card by using 8″ of Gold Mini Sequin Trim to create a faux bow and using Stampin’ Dimensionals add the sentiment.
In Conclusion

Finally, the stamp set has various sentiments that can also be used with another stamp set.  I’m smitten with the different face expressions included for creating bunnies with a variety of looks and images.  It will be fun to create cards for all types of occasions and really can Make My Day.

I would love to hear from you so don’t forget to add comments!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the project details on the Country Home Suite from last week’s Facebook Live.

Pretty Varied Vases

You can create lovely cards with Pretty Varied Vases.  So, today I would like to share some samples of the Varied Vases stamp set.  I enjoy using this stamp set.  The vases are so delicate looking and while they are not all solid colored, you can color them or since this is a two-step stamp set, use an ink pad to fill your flower and vase shapes with color.  To achieve a lighter color, stamp off onto a scrap of paper.  With all the options we have for coloring, it may even be a difficult choice.  Each of the blending options can have a different outcome. Another quick trick, is to select your favorite DSP and stamp the outline of a vase.  Use the Vases Builder Punch to cut the vase and voila, you have a designer vase!

Just look at the size variations and also, how many flower options you have.  You can add other sentiments if you would like to expand the possibilities for using the images as was done above.  Varied Vases stamp set

Because I have a soft spot for flowers, I’m drawn to this set and it’s amazing possibilities.  Once I added the little flowers and soft colors, the project came together.  Another useful product is the Vases Builder Punch which coordinates with the Varied Vases stamp set.  It eliminates the need to fussy cut the vases and small flowers.

Varied Vases Bundle

You can get both the Varied Vases stamp set and Vases Builder Punch through my online store.  Pick up both products for 10% off because they are part of the Varied Vases Bundle.  I love the bundles and how you can save money when you purchase them together.  No matter if you pick up the bundle or the individual items, you won’t be disappointed.

Garden Impressions Suite – CASE the Catalog

Happy Monday!  You have probably seen the Garden Impressions Suite in the catalog.  So enjoy this week’s CASE the Catalog sample because it’s a variation of a card on page 128 in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

Garden Impressions Suite

First of all, the card in the catalog uses Soft Seafoam Cardstock as the base.  I also used a layer of Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Abstract Impressions stamp set to create the second layer.  Because I used the same card design, I changed up the card base to Night of Navy cardstock and because I didn’t stamp the second layer, I decided to use coordinating designs from the Garden Impressions DSP for the two layers below the layer with the sentiment.

Due to the DSP having lots of wonderful colors, it certainly makes it great to use for a variety of card designs.  Night of Navy ink was used to stamp the sentiment from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set.  Furthermore, it was cut with the next to the largest Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Similarly, Mini Gold Sequin Trim and Night of Navy Medium Baker’s Twine was also added as an embellishment before attaching the sentiment with stampin’ dimensionals.

CASE the Catalog

Below are measurements used for creating the card base design:

Base:  cardstock 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″

Designer Series Paper: first layer 4 1/4″ x 4 1/2″; second layer: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″

Finally, when you are struggling to come up with a card design, remember to look through the catalog for ideas.  It’s okay to use the catalog designs and is encouraged.  Above all, I want to convey how easy it is to take a design from the catalog.  Because when you change up the paper or colors, you probably have a totally different look with the same layout.

Wild About You – Animal Outing

As you know from previous posts, one of my favorite bundle sets in the annual catalog is the Animal Outing Bundle.  This bundle features the Animal Outing Stamp Set and Animal Friends Thinlits Dies.  For this card, I knew that I wanted a card using the “Wild About You” sentiment because I wanted to use the Frames Elements.  (Be sure to read this entire post to learn how to get your sentiment to fit the Frames Elements.).

Wild About You Comes Together

I probably should mention that I love the Berry Burst cardstock with the green and gray pieces of DSP.  Sprigs of greenery were cut from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock using the Animal Friends Thinlits.  Additionally,  greenery was added using the Leaf Ribbon.  As you can guess, this card is for someone special!  You’ll note the rhino with the bird was cut from the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper (DSP) using the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies.  I love it when there are dies to match the DSP!

Wild About You - Animal Outing

Features Stampin’ Up! Animal Outing Bundle to create a “Wild About You”

Because I could not find a thinlit that coordinated with the Frames Elements, I came up with an easy solution.  So as a result, I cut the sentiment to fit inside frame element piece for the card.  The steps are below:Cutting tip for using the Stampin' Up! Frames ElementsAbove all, it’s easy-peasy!  Seems like it’s a no brainer.

Finally, don’t forget to embellish the interior of your card!  Also, it’s a great wow factor.  Another great perk is the extra personal touch that will certainly impress your family and friends.  Enjoy!

Dandelion Wishes – CASE the Catalog

Hi all and welcome to this week’s CASE the Catalog.  The card features the Dandelion Wishes stamp set and you can see the inspiration card on page 118 in the Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  Instead of using the Wood Textures DSP (Designer Series Paper) as shown in the catalog, I used Garden Impressions DSP as the base to stamp the dandelion flowers using Grapefruit Grove Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad.  When planning your cards, be sure to look at your DSP to use as a stamping base!  The Grapefruit Grove is a versatile color and blends well with many of the other Stampin’ Up! colors such as the Granny Apple Green used to compliment this card.
