Mar 17, 2021 | Cards, Dandy Garden, Dandy Garden, Designer Series Paper, January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, Product Suites, Uncategorized |
This past Monday, a virtual event for the Playtime with Paper team took place. The event focus was a mystery stamping project. Prior to the event, a posting provided a list of materials including the dimensions for creating a card. Participants then select the colors, designer series paper, stamp set and so forth they wish to use. No one knows what the final card layout will be so that’s the “mystery” and it’s fun to see the various card creations afterwards.
For my mystery stamping presentation, I choose to use different elements from the Dandy Garden Suite. I knew that I wanted to incorporate a couple of bumblebees on the card. Since the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper includes a bumblebee print, it became the inspiration for the main color scheme of Misty Moonlight. Even better is the Dandy Wishes Dies bumblebee die coordinates with the bumblebee printed designer series paper. The card turned out even better than I envisioned!

Additional Card Details:
First, select two coordinating pieces of the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper. The stripe and the dandelion print coordinate perfectly. For the card base and the texture embossed layer, use Misty Moonlight cardstock. The Dandelions 3-D Embossing Folder ties in perfectly with the dandelion print. Don’t you agree? To complete the card, add the sentiment label, the bumblebees, and rhinestone jewels. The sentiment comes from the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set. Finish by wrapping the card front and tying a bow using the Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon. Under Project Materials, the specific materials for the project are listed. Also added is the link for ordering the entire Dandy Garden Suite – then you’ll have lots of creative options!
It was fun hosting the mystery stamping for the Playtime with Paper team. Afterwards, participants posted their cards to the team’s Facebook page. Everyone’s cards were beautiful and I don’t think anyone selected the same Designer Series Paper or same stamp set. And importantly, a huge thank you to Ange McKay for sharing the dimensions for the mystery stamping.
Here are a few additional samples using the same layout…

Mar 11, 2021 | Butterfly Bijou, Craft Fair Projects, Gifts, Limited-Time |
The project for today is perfect when you want to give someone “just a little something”. To make the project, just cover a small notepad with cardstock and the beautiful Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper then add a few embellishments. Use it to give as a thank you, a thinking of you or a just because small gift. While preparing the materials for the small notepad, cut cardstock and designer series paper to make an accompanying 3″x3″ card. Not only does the notepad make a great gift but it’s also perfect for craft fair projects.

There are a variety of small notepads of various sizes available that you can cover. The package for my project contains 3 composition book style notepads (size: 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″) and were found at my local dollar store. Three notepads for $1 is a great deal!
Tips for covering a notepad:
Measure to confirm the length, width and depth for front, back and side of the notepad. Cut cardstock to the size needed and add score lines for wrapping around the notepad. (for the 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ notepad, I cut the cardstock 4-5/8″ x 7″, score at 3-3/8″, rotate and score again at 3-3/8″). Use the Detailed Trio Punch to round corners of the cardstock. Do this before attaching the cardstock to the notepad. Attach the cardstock to the notepad using a strong adhesive such as Tear & Tape or Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Next, cut the Butterfly Bijou paper and round the corners before adding to the cardstock cover. Embellish with desired sentiment, ribbon and coordinating butterfly. The sentiment on the sample above is from the Simply Citrus Card Kit. The butterfly is stamped using Misty Moonlight, die cut using the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and color added using Just Jade and So Saffron Stampin’ Blends. Be creative and embellish your covered notepad with using an assortment of butterflies!
The Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper is available only during the Butterfly Bouquet promotion which ends May 3, 2021. With the limited time offer for the designer series paper, it is while supply last. The Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper coordinates with the Butterfly Brilliance Collection that includes not just the designer series paper but the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and Natural Touch Specialty Paper. Both the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and the Natural Touch Specialty Paper are early released products from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. Be sure to order the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper before the promotion ends or it sells out.

Mar 3, 2021 | Art Gallery, Birthday, Birthday, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Fine Art Floral, January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, Stampin' Up!, Uncategorized |
Since March is full of birthdays for many family members, it has kept me busy creating birthday cards. One of my sister’s is the lucky recipient of the Fine Art Floral birthday card. If you’ve not seen the products in the Fine Arts Floral Collection, you must check it out. The Fine Arts Floral Designer Series Paper is gorgeous! There are a variety of patterns to select from but I especially was drawn to the pattern on the card below. It’s beautiful on it’s own but I knew on a Navy cardstock base highlighted with the Gilded Leafing, it would be even more gorgeous. This was my first use of the Gilded Leafing and I love how it creates an elegant card, especially when combined with the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper.

Fine Art Floral Birthday Card:
- Card base: Night of Navy cardstock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″.
- Very Vanilla cardstock: 5-1/4″ x 4″ plus a scrap piece for the sentiment pieces.
- Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper: 3 strips at 1-1/4″ x 3-1/2″
Assembly Details:
- For the first step, apply Gilded Leafing along the edge of the Very Vanilla (5-1/4″ x 4″). To ensure there is enough gilding, make sure it creates at least a 1/4″ border around all side edges of the card. TIP: Use Tear & Tape since it’s the width needed.
- After gilding along the outer edges of the Very Vanilla cardstock, add the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper panels spacing evenly.
- Next, add the Gilded Leafing to cover the Very Vanilla cardstock between the panels. Again, use Tear & Tape and then apply the gilded leafing. To attach layer to the Night of Navy card base, use Stampin’ Seal+.
- For the sentiment, stamp using Night of Navy Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Use Layering Circles Die to cut circle to fit within the Gold Hoop Embellishment. Attach to the gold hoop and add to the card front using Stampin’ Seal+. Embellish around the sentiment with Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.
- For the flower embellishment, use the small flower stamps from the Art Gallery Photopolymer Stamp Set. Stamp the flower body using Petal Pink and the inner petals with Merry Merlot. Cut using the coordinating Floral Gallery Dies. Stamp the leaves using Old Olive Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a scrap of Old Olive cardstock. Trim as needed to fit behind flower when attaching to the sentiment piece. Attach flower and leaves using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- With Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends, color a piece of Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon. Then, tie into a bow (if desired, add strips of Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim and Petal Pink Ribbon when forming tail of bow). Add the bow to the base of the flower on the card using glue dots.
Be sure to check out the products in the Fine Art Floral Suite Collection and order your favorite items. But definitely, add the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper and the Gilded Leafing to a “must have” order list.

Feb 24, 2021 | 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, Cards, Stampin' Blends, Treat Holders |
In an earlier post, I noted I am the guest stamper this February for the Luv 2 Stampin GA group. Each week, I share a project featuring the Field Journal Stamp Set. This week’s project highlights the Field Journal Blueberries. And yes, I did fussy cut but not a difficult image to use with this technique. To accompany this week’s card, a Love You Always treat box has been gussied up!

Field Journal Blueberries Card & Treat Box Details:
- Card base is Seaside Spray cardstock (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″).
- Prepare the second layer of Night of Navy cardstock (5-1/4″ x 4″) by topping it with a piece of Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″). NOTE: if you select the pattern on this card sample, pay close attention to the direction of the pattern when cutting. (Guess why I added the note!!!) Do not add to card base at this time.
- Using the blueberries stamp from the Field Journal Stamp Set, stamp three (3) images using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock. If you wish to embellish envelope, stamp it also. Use the following Stampin’ Blends to color: berries – Dark Seaside Spray & Light Night of Navy, leaves – Light & Dark Granny Apple Green. Fussy cut the blueberries using paper snips.
- Select the sentiment from the Field Journal Stamp Set and stamp onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Night of Navy Classic Stamp Pad. Cut using the stitched rectangle from the Ornate Layers Dies.
- Wrap Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon around the Night of Navy/Designer Series Paper layer and tie into a bow. Optional: add a sprig of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the metallic ribbon before tying the bow.
- Position sentiment and two of the blueberry images onto the card front overlapping the ribbon.
Treat Box:
- Cut the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper to cover the box top and sides. Attach with Stampin’ Seal+ or multipurpose liquid adhesive.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Parcels & Petals Stamp Set using Night of Navy Classic Stamp Pad onto Basic White cardstock. Cut using the Ornate Layers Die. Also, use dies to cut a scrap of Night of Navy cardstock to layer the sentiment.
- Add the sentiment to box top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Complete by adding the last blueberry image and a small Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon bow.
- Lastly – FILL the box with treats. Mine holds chocolate covered blueberries to give to a special someone!!!
Don’t overlook ordering the Field Journal Stamp Set! It’s versatility makes it a great addition to any stamp collection.

Feb 10, 2021 | 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, Cards, Masculine, Stampin' Blends, Watercolor Pencils |
This month, I am the guest stamper for the Luv 2 Stampin GA team. So, I’ve been having fun with the Field Journal Stamp Set. As a guest stamper, we select a stamp set and present a project each week to showcase ideas for using the set. This is a great way to expand creativity. I had so much fun using the duck stamp from Field Journal, that I created not one, but two different cards!

Card Tips:
- For the card on the left, stamp the duck onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock using Stazon Jet Black ink. Color using watercolor pencils. Note, the watercolor pencils are used dry with no water. After stamping and coloring the image, cut using the large circle Stitched Shapes Dies. The card base uses Early Espresso. A Crumb Cake cardstock layer is topped with a layer of Garden Green Designer Series Paper from the 6″x6″ Regals Designer Series Paper Assortment. Before attaching the layers to the card base, wrap a piece of Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim around the card and tie into a knot. Then, add to the card base using Stampin’ Seal+. Adhere the stamped duck to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped using Early Espresso Classic Ink and cut with paper snips.
- The card on the right is a fun fold card featuring the Corner Fold. I followed directions and dimensions from a post by Cindee Wilkinson at Just Sponge It. For the card base, use Pretty Peacock cardstock and layer with Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper. In addition, use a coordinating square of the paper below the duck layer. For the duck on this card, stamp the image onto Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and color with Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set.
If you’re needing a card with a masculine feel, either of these would be perfect to create. The fun continues with the Field Journal Stamp Set. So, be on the lookout for more samples using this set!
