Valentine Surprises

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Today, I am sharing Valentine surprises that I received this week.

Valentine

The first surprise is a beautiful card! A dear friend, Jamie, sent a Valentine card combining the Sale-a-Bration Little Ladybug with the Heartfelt Bundle.  The recent coordination product release features the Ladybug Dies so she was able to cut the ladybug easily.  Look closely at the card.  After stamping and coloring the flower, she texture embossed using the Subtles Embossing Folder.  Just the simple use of the embossing folder changes the entire card appearance.  Plus touches of Wink of Stella adds a little extra shimmer.  Below is a closer look…

And now for some treat holders…

Playtime with Paper team member, Linda cut Designer Series Paper using the Mini Curvy Keepsake Dies.  Notice the embellishment on the treat holder.  She cut Real Red cardstock with the Stitched Be Mine Dies and then cut a stitched Valentine for the sentiment using the same dies.  And to go with the sentiment she made a honey bee embellishment using Shrinky Dink Plastic. The Honey Bee Bundle provides the honey bee stamp and the Detailed Bee Dies.  Simply stamp the bee onto the Shrinky Dink, cut with dies and shrink using heat. So cute! and great to remember when wanting to make different embellishments.

Mary Pat, another Playtime with Paper team member, also made a treat holder.  Utilizing the Stitched Nested Labels Dies, she was able to create a pocket the perfect size for nesting a Ghiradelli Chocolate Square.  Real Red cardstock is cut with one of the larger dies.  Two designs of the From My Heart Designer Series Paper are also cut.  One piece to use as the wrap to create the pocket and one cut with a slightly smaller die to layer on the Real Red cardstock label.  For embellishing the front of the pocket, the Heart Doily is layered with a heart cut in the From My Heart Designer Series Paper using the Heart Punch.

Receiving the Valentine Surprises was unexpected but greatly appreciated!

Wrapped in Plaid Mini Pizza Box

I’m finally getting a few minutes to post another project for you.  Today, I’m featuring a Wrapped in Plaid Mini Pizza Box.  The past couple of weeks have been busy with travel and family so blog time dropped on the priority list.  Actually, I hauled my laptop with me on my travels but spending time with family became more important.  I am sure you’ve likely experienced times when you had plans that were altered due to obligations.  I’m glad that I had the opportunity to visit my parents during this holiday season.  Just hoping our internet stays on so I can complete this blog – it’s been stubborn the past few days!

You’re going to love this project, a Wrapped in Plaid Mini Pizza Box.  It’s perfect packaging for treats or small gifts and best of all, it’s quick to make.  The blue plaid paper from the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper pack was selected.  I love the combination of Night of Navy and Shaded Spruce.  The sentiment, Merry and Bright, is from the Everything Festive Stamp set.  Notice the ribbon?  It’s the Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon that is colored using the Dark Shaded Stampin’ Blend marker.  I just love that the Stampin’ Blends work perfectly to color ribbons for coordinating with projects.

Embellished Mini Pizza Box

Details:
  1. To cover the Mini Pizza Box, cut one piece of the Designer Series Paper 3-1/4″ x 3″1/4″ for the top.  Cut 4 pieces 3/4″ x 3’1/4″ to attach to the side panels of the mini pizza box.  Assemble mini pizza box and attach the designer series paper using Snail Adhesive.
  2. Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock using Shaded Spruce Classic Pad and cut with the large circle Stitched Shapes die.  Cut a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper using a large scallop die from the Layering Circles Dies.  Attach the sentiment layer to the gold glimmer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.  Embellish with Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
  3. Using the Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends, color approximately 18″ of Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon.  Wrap ribbon around box and tie a bow – but first fill box with goodies or a small gift.
  4. Finish the gift by adding the sentiment to the top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The mini pizza boxes can easily be altered for any occasion by changing the Designer Series Paper.  So look through your paper stash!

Time is running out for Holiday shipping so place your orders soon.

Halloween Coffin Treat Boxes

Happy Friday!  Hope you’ve been having a good week.  Fall temperatures finally arrived in Georgia so it sets the mood for Fall festivities.  Today’s project, Halloween Coffin Treat Boxes, is perfect for Fall craft fairs or for giving treats to friendly Gremlins.  The food safe Coffin Boxes in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog are easy to assemble.  A variety of products in the Monster Bash Suite decorate the Halloween Coffin Treat Boxes shown below.

Coffin Treat Holders

Details for the Coffin Halloween Treat Holder on the Left:

First, texture emboss the lid using the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder before assembling.  Next, assemble the coffin top and bottom using a strong adhesive such as Tear & Tape or Mulitpurpose Liquid Adhesive.  To add definition to the top, swipe the lid across the raised embossed areas using the Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink Pad.  Stamp the mummy and the sentiment from the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock.  After stamping, cut using the coordinating Ornate Frames Dies.  Also, use the dies to cut a scroll frame from Crushed Curry cardstock.  To color the mummy, use either the Crumb Cake Stampin Write Marker or Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  For the border, use the Light Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends.  Adhere the mummy piece to the Crushed Curry frame using Snail Adhesive.  With stampin’ dimensionals, add the piece to the top of the coffin.  Attach sentiment and bow.  Almost forgot… for a fun touch, add Assorted Googly Eyes!

Details for the Coffin Halloween Treat Holder on the Right:

Start by assembling the coffin.  Turn the coffin lid upside down and place onto the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper.  Then, trace around the lid.  Use paper snips to cut the lid around the traced area.  After cutting, sponge the edges of the designer series paper using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Add to the coffin lid using multipurpose liquid adhesive.  TIP:  the multipurpose liquid adhesive allows time to make placement adjustments.  With the Ornate Frames Dies, cut a large scroll from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and a smaller scroll using Basic Black cardstock.  Layer the scrolls.  Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut with the coordinating die.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach to the layered scrolls.  Embellish with Basic Rhinestone Jewels and a Black Glitter Organdy ribbon bow.  Add to the coffin lid.

Isn’t that easy?   And yes, you still have time to order the Coffin Treat Holders and elements for embellishing before Halloween.  For a list of the materials from today’s post, check out the Project Materials list below.

Garden Lane Lotion Holder

At last month’s Luv 2 Stamp meeting, one of the make ‘n take projects included a Garden Lane Lotion Holder.  Fellow team member, Cindee Wilkinson, created the team project and selected the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper for the project.  The holder is wonderful!  A 1-oz. tube of the Bath & Body Works hand lotion fits perfectly inside of the box.  However, it is of ample size to hold other small gifts or treats.  If you participate in craft sales, this is a must project for you to add to your list!  It takes time to create and you can decorate it with a variety of tags.

Materials:

  • Garden Lane Designer Series Paper (4-1/2″ x 6″)
  • Delightful Tag Topper Punch
  • Whisper White Cardstock (scrap for tag and for 1″ circle )
  • Stitched Nested Labels Dies
  • Garden Green Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Pressed Petals Washi Tape
  • Embossing Buddy
  • 3/4″ circle punch
  • Perennial Essence Floral Center
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock (scraps for leaves)
  • Magnolia Memories Dies (for leaves dies) or use the Leaf Punch
  • Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set
  • Tags and More Accessory Kit (Copper Clip)
  • Mint Macaron 1/4″ Textile Ribbon
  • Adhesives: Tear & Tape, Mini Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals

You’ll find the directions for assembling the Garden Lane Lotion Holder on Cindee’s blog, Just Sponge It.  Just click on the link to be taken to the lotion holder instructions.

To create the tag:

Stamp the desired sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set using Garden Green Classic Stamp Pad onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (approximately 2″ x 2-1/4″).  Cut using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  Cut 2 leaves from the Mossy Meadow cardstock using the Magnolia Memory Dies.  Or, you may cut leaves using the leaf punch.  From a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, punch a 1″ circle.  Use the circle as a base for layering the Pressed Petals Washi Tape to create a flower.

TIP:  After placing the first layer of 4 petals on the circle, dust the back of the exposed petals with the Embossing Buddy to remove the stickiness.  Add next layer, and gently lift petals to apply dust from Embossing Buddy.  The petals will stay curled upwards and not stick to the bottom layer.

Complete the flower by adding a Perennial Essence Floral Center.  Add the two cut leaves to the back to the flower with mini glue dots and attach to the sentiment label using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Also use the dimensionals to attach the label to the lotion holder.  Close the lotion holder using the Copper Clip.  Tie a bow around the clip using the 1/4″ Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon.

Just a reminder –  BONUS DAYS ends on July 31st!

For every $50 you spend (before tax & shipping), you will earn a $5 Bonus Days coupon code that can be used August 1-31.  There is no limit to the number of Bonus Days coupon codes you can receive.  The coupon codes are sent via email.  If you earn multiple coupon codes in a single order, all of the coupon codes will be in one email.
