Sending Flowers

Have you seen the Coordination Product Release from Stampin’ Up?  Today, I am sending flowers featuring the Sending Flowers Dies from the Coordination Product Release.  In addition, you’ll also see use of the Special Day Dies from the product release.  The Coordination Product Release features items which coordinate with products from Sale-A-Bration as well as the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog.  I’ll add the link below so you can check out the products available but first onto the card.

The beauty of the Sending Flowers Dies is the main die featuring a field of flowers which creates the focal point for a card.  You can cut your cardstock, add color on the flowers, attach to a card base, add a sentiment banner and you’re done!  And if you want, add an extra touch or two.  Look closely at the card below.  Notice the mouse in the field of flowers.  I couldn’t resist placing the mouse in the flowers…it’s so darn cute!  The Special Days Dies coordinate with the Special Someone Stamp Set making it easy to stamp and cut the mouse.  Just a note, the Coordination Product Release ends on March 31, 2020, so you’ll want to place your order soon!

Coordination Product Release

Card Details:
  1. Create a card base using Coastal Cabana cardstock (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, score at 4-1/4″ and fold).
  2. Next, add a layer of the gingham check (4″ x 5-1/2″) from the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper. (this is another Coordination Product Release!)
  3. Use the large circle flowers die in the Sending Flowers Dies to cut a 4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Color the stems of the flowers using the Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. TIP:  Color up into the flower petal to ensure that each stem is completely colored when you add the flowers. Cut a variety of flowers from cardstock using the flower dies in the set.  The cardstock colors on the card above are: Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral.  Another tip: this is a great way to use your scraps of cardstock!  After cutting the flowers, attach to the flowers on the stems using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  4. Cut a 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of the coastal cabana designer series paper from the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper. Attach to the back of the flower square using adhesive.
  5. Add the field of flowers to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals leaving room for the sentiment banner at the bottom of the card.
  6. Stamp the sentiment, “glad we’re friends” from the Fable Friends Stamp Set, using Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut the banner shape using the die from the Sending Flowers Dies.  Wrap linen thread around the side of the banner three times and tie into a small bow.  Attach to the card using Dimensionals.
  7. For the mouse, stamp using the Gray Granite Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut with the coordinating die from the Special Days Die set.  Add a mini glue dot to the back of the mouse and tuck into the field of flowers.
  8. To complete the card front, add small Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the centers of the flowers.
Of course, you can’t forget the inside of the card or the envelope!

In addition to using cardstock on the flowers, you can color them using your Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Markers or sponge daubers with ink.  It’ll be fun using different coloring methods.

Nature’s Beauty Birthday Card

March Madness is coming!  My March Madness isn’t the NCAA Basketball tourney but it’s a slew of birthday celebrations in March.  My dad’s birthday kicks off the madness on March 1 so I created a birthday card featuring Nature’s Beauty.  The stamp set is perfect for creating masculine cards.  For the card design, I CASED a card on page 48 in the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog changing up the stamp set.  I love the design on this card and plan to use it again, mixing up stamp sets to fit the theme. The annual catalog is a great place to find designs when your creative juices aren’t working in full force!  In addition to using the Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set, several other stamp sets help supply additional elements.  For additional details, scroll down past the card photo.

Masculine Birthday

Card details:
  • Card base is Night of Navy Cardstock (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score at 4-1/4″ and fold).
  • Use the Woodland Embossing Folder to texture emboss a 5-1/4″ x 4″ panel of Whisper White cardstock.  Attach to the card base with adhesive.
  • Cut a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″.   On one of the short edges, spritz light with water, tear and fray.  Stamp the fern image (Painted Harvest Stamp Set) using the Balmy Blue Classic Stampin’ Pad onto the panel.  Refer to photo above for approximate placement.  Attach the panel to the Whisper White layer using a strong adhesive.
  • Select the wood grain and the woven papers from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Cut a woven print strip to 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″.  Add to the strip to the card, slightly off center.
  • Cut the wood grain print 2-1/2″ x 4″ and on one end using paper snips, cut to create a banner.  Add to the card.
  • Stamp the deer image from Nature’s Beauty Stamp set using Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a 2-1/4″ x 4″ strip of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut top and bottom edges to create a banner.  After cutting, stamp ferns using the Balmy Blue and lightly sponge around deer.  Stamp grass using Old Olive and sponge around deer’s hooves.  Use a small hole punch in center of banner.  Thread and loop a piece of Braided Linen Trim through the punched hole.
  • With the Leaf Punch, cut two sets of leaves from Crumb Cake cardstock.  Attach to the back of the deer banner.  Next, use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the deer banner to the wood grain banner on the card.
  • To finish the card, stamp Happy Birthday from Itty Bitty Birthday Greetings using Balmy Blue Stampin’ Pad onto a strip of Whisper White.  Then, cut to separate the two words.  Add to the card using dimensionals.

My dad is a deer hunter so the card is perfect for him.

Remember, use the Stampin’ Up! catalogs for card design inspiration.

Forever Blossoms Note Card

In this month’s card class, the focus was on All About Flowers.  A must was using the Forever Blossoms Bundle and the Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper.  The cherry blossoms evokes thoughts of Spring  and the cherry blossom stamp with it’s coordinating die are perfect for creating cards and projects.  With the multitude of rainy days we’ve had in Georgia, hopefully the cherry blossoms will give us a showy Spring!  As you’ve likely noticed, I enjoy using note cards and the Scalloped Note Cards & Envelopes coordinates perfectly with the designer series paper.  The idea for coloring the cherry blossoms using Sponge Daubers comes from Patty Bennett.   Just click on the link to Patty’s page for details. Sponging makes it a quick project.

If you want to make the Forever Blossoms Note Card, use a light pink Scalloped Note Card.  Attach a layer of 5″ x 2-3/4″  Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper to the front of the card and a 1/2″ x 5″ strip to the inside right card edge.  You want the strip to “peek” behind the scalloped card edge.

Using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad, stamp the cherry blossoms onto a 5″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Also on the Whisper White cardstock, stamp the Hello sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia using Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad.  Add Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo to the cherry blossoms with sponge daubers.   To color the stems, use Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  Cut the cherry blossom stem with the coordinating Cherry Blossoms Die.  To cut the sentiment, use the Stitched Labels Dies.

Assemble by adding the cherry blossom to the front of the note card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then, attach the sentiment label.  Complete by tying a small knot bow using the Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon and adhere using a mini glue dot.

TIP: Stamp multiple cherry blossoms onto Whisper White cardstock and have a color fest selecting a variety of colors for the blossoms.  Cut each with the coordinating die and you’ll be set to create a variety of cards to have on hand.

Lily Impressions 3-D Project

This past Saturday, my upline, Gloria Plunkett hosted the Luv 2 Stampin GA team meeting.  During our meetings, we are able to spend time making various projects.  So today I am sharing a Lily Impressions 3-D project designed by Gloria for the team.   This special 3-D project is a small wreath that is the perfect size to hang by your desk or in a work cubicle.  Mine is going to hang in craft room by my work desk.  The project features the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper.  This beautiful Lily Impressions is available in the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  With a purchase of $50 (before shipping & taxes), you can select  FREE.

Project Details:

To begin, use a 4″ Styrofoam wreath as the base.  Next, Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper is cut into strips and wrapped around the wreath.  When wrapping the strips, overlap the end of each strip and glue matching the ends of the Designer Series Paper strip.  Before wrapping the strips, cut a “v” in both ends of the paper strips.  TIP: When adding the strips, slightly overlap to cover the Styrofoam wreath.  For embellishing the wreath, use the Starburst Punch to cut a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock.  Cut a stitched circle from Whisper White cardstock using the Stitched Shapes Dies.  Then, top with your initial cut from Melon Mambo cardstock using the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies.  NOTE: Cut three initials and layer to add dimension.  With the Sprig punch, cut two sprigs from  Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  Sandwich the sprigs between the Whisper White stitched circle and the Pretty Peacock cardstock.  Attach the circle to the middle of the wreath by using Multipurpose Liquid Glue along the edge of the cardstock circle.  Finish by adding a Whisper White Polka Dot ribbon bow on the front.  Glue a small ribbon circle on the back to use for hanging.

Isn’t this a cute wreath?  What’s great is you can create your own unique wreath by selecting other coordinating colors for the embellishment.  For a larger Styrofoam wreath, just adjust the length and width of the strips from the Designer Series Paper you select.

Thank you stopping by!
