Spring is here and Easter is coming soon!

Hope wherever you are that the weather is warming and that you’re seeing signs of Spring!  Here in Georgia, the early blooming trees are showing their colors and the sight is absolutely beautiful. Below is a picture of some of the cherry trees we have in our front yard.  We have total of 6 in front of our house and I love it when they’re in bloom.  The dogwoods are starting to offer a “peek” of the blooms to soon open so you can look forward to a picture of them next month when they’ve fully opened.

With the arrival of Spring, Easter is soon to come.  In preparation, yesterday’s card class created two Easter cards, as well as, two treat holders.  All had a fun afternoon!  Today, I am showcasing the Cheerful Critters card.  I love the whimsy of the critters and look closely,  there are a few Easter eggs in the grass!  After stamping the critters,  Blendabilities (unfortunately, discontinued) were used to color each critter but the Stampin’ Write Markers also work well. Each critter was “fussy cut” after coloring.  The Easter eggs are from the For Peeps’ Sake stamp set and Stampin’ Write Markers were used to color them.  The clouds were created using the discontinued Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Folder but you can create your own clouds by sponging Soft Sky ink on the background paper and using a paper piercer to punch cloud formations.   The fence was created using the lumber designer series paper page from the Adventure Bound paper stack.  (A full list of currently available project materials is at the end of this post.)

“Glitter Napkin” Cards

Today’s post showcases the cards made in last month’s card class…Glitter Napkin Cards.  You may ask “what in the world” do you mean – glitter napkin?  Well, we used napkins…you know, the inexpensive paper napkins!  Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter was applied using Heat & Stick powder and voila, you have a glitter napkin to use for decorating a card.  Below is a picture of the napkins used for making the cards (notice how Stampin’ Up! offers card stock with the same colors!).

Now for the cards created…

Here’s a shout out for Tina Weller (www.serenestamper.com) for her tutorial on preparing glitter napkin cards.  There are several tutorials online but Tina did a great job of providing clear instruction.

Leadership Swaps

In late January, I had the opportunity to attend the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference in Orlando.  It was an action packed 2 1/2 days of seeing new products, learning new techniques, meeting new friends and having lots of fun!  While there I had the opportunity to participate in a couple of swaps and I’m sharing two of the project swaps.  One was a Mini Treat Bag Swap and the other swap required making a “dazzling” card.  Below are the two projects.
