This week has been Spring Break for my 6 year old grandson, Alexander, and we’re fortunate that he wanted to spend it with Grandma and Grandpa. This has kept me busy but Alexander made time for crafting. Next week is his uncle’s birthday so Alexander prepared a special card for him so today I am sharing Alexander’s talents with you.
While inking the pad, Alexander would say “tap, tap, tap”!

What 6 yr. old boy doesn’t love machines? Alexander also used the Big Shot to cut stickers from stamped images.

He was so excited about how it turned out, that before I could get a photo of the card separately, he had sealed it in the envelope…so I enlarged this picture so you could see it better.

Just a short post to share the Easter treat holders made in the recent “Easter is coming” class. The first uses the Berry Basket Bigz Die and the second the Fry Box Bigz L Die. There are endless ways to use these two dies so they’ll get lots of use by me!

The card stock used for the Berry Basket is Hello Honey and each side panel was covered with designer series paper from the Lullaby paper series. Coordinating inks of Coastal Cabana and Hello Honey were used to stamped the tags. The tags were cut using the Banners framelits and the Big Shot. Final embellishments include a bow tie using Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine and a strip of Gold Sequin trim.

This bunny is one of my favorite treat holders for Easter. The original idea was shared by Dee Slater and I can’t thank her enough for sharing it! Many others have used it as it’s posted often on Pinterest but Dee sent the instructions with her 8 weeks of Easter series.
I’m off to fill my treat holders with treats for my grandson! Have a Happy Easter!

Easter’s quickly approaching so I’m sharing another Easter card from the recent class…apply titled “Happy Easter Bunny”. To create the card, after texture embossing the first layer, use an oval framelit to cut through both the embossed layer and card front. This will create a “frame” for the interior panel that’s stamped with the Happy Bunny Stamp. We used a combination of Blendabilities (now discontinued) and Stampin’ Write Markers to color the image (using all Stampin’ Write markers would also work well.)
The card is quick to assemble and is sure to make recipients smile.

Just a couple of pointers…for ease in cutting the oval, attach the embossed layer to the card base prior to cutting with the oval framelit. This keeps everything in place for cutting. To create the yellow frame, cut card stock using two framelits (the one used to cut the oval in the card base and the next larger oval framelit). The magnetic platform works great to hold framelits nicely in place when cutting. To ensure that the stamped image is centered in the oval frame, you may need to trim the panel if stamped slightly off center prior to attaching to the card interior…but that’s okay, it won’t be noticed.
