Celebrating a Birthday

The last month has been a whirlwind full of personal events but things are starting to settle and finally, I am taking time to share some beautiful cards with you.  One of the events was my birthday!  It was wonderful and the cards being shared are ones that I received from fellow stampers.  Thank you to Gloria, Jamie, Nicole and Beneta for the gorgeous cards!  They are practicing the  #bringingbirthdaysback! with Stampin’ Up!
Birthday Cards using a variety of Stampin’ Up! Products
Each of the cards is beautiful.  Nicole’s card (lower left) uses Versamark and white embossing powder to stamp the flower bouquets with the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  After heat setting the embossing powder, she then used aqua painters and Stampin’ inks to color the blooms.  It creates lots of dimension to the card images.  Gloria’s card uses the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper (DSP), Pool Party Glitter Ribbon,  and a butterfly cut with the Bold Butterfly Framelits from the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper to create a card full of glitz!  Beneta’s card (upper left) uses the Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents Punches to create layered flowers to decorate the card.  Jamie (upper right) used the Botanical Gardens product suite to create a beautiful, floral layered card.  Again, thanks to the ladies for helping make my birthday memorable!
New projects have been completed and I’m finalizing details on next posts so be sure to check back later this week!   Even better, signup to follow me by email and you’ll receive an update when the post is updated.

Botanical Garden Birthday

Yes, I’m still sharing cards from the “All About Birthdays” class!  The card in this post uses one of my favorite bundles from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog – Botanical Blooms.  From the Botanical Blooms photopolymer stamps and framelits to the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper, the projects that can be made are endless and aren’t limited to cards.  The multitude of flowers that can be cut using the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies are wonderful and enable creating dimensional flowers.  When creating this card, a variety of leaves and flowers were cut and layered resulting in a beautiful design.  The center of the large flowers has a rhinestone that has been colored black using a Sharpie marker.  The greeting is from the Tin of Cards stamp set and was heat embossed using Black Emboss Powder.

If you’re looking for a versatile stamp set, I recommend that you consider this bundle.

A “Flowering Fields” Birthday

The card in this post was made in one of the “All About Birthdays” classes from last month and uses two products from the Sale-A-Bration brochure – the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper and the Flowering Fields stamp set.  Both of these products are great but I especially like the stamp set as there are endless creative possibilities.  The designer series paper has many great designs and for this card, I decided to use the lighter background floral print to create a card with the feeling of Spring.
Birthday Card using Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Flowering Fields Stamp Set & Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper
The card base is Lost Lagoon card stock (CS) with a layer of Whisper White card stock and the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper.  The Circles Collection framelits were used to cut Lost Lagoon CS and Whisper White CS.  The white circle was stamped using the Flowering Fields stamp set and Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Using Stampin’ Write markers, the flowers, leaves and butterfly were colored by stippling instead of fully coloring the items with the markers.  Lastly, the clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush was used on the flowers to add some shimmer (although it doesn’t show in the photo, the glimmer is the little extra that takes the card “up a notch”).  The birthday greeting is from the And Many More stamp set and is stamped on the banner from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set.
Remember that the Sale-a-bration items are only available until March 31 and with each $50 purchase (excluding tax & shipping), you can select one item.
