Fall is in the air!

Cooler temperatures have finally arrived and there’s a feeling of Fall is in the air.  Here in Georgia, it was a long hot summer and I have been looking forward to the cool evenings and crisp early morning temperatures.  It won’t be long before the leaves will start to show their vibrant colors.  With Fall arriving, one of the cards in a recent class used the Vintage Leaf Stamp Set and the colors of fall were selected from the Petals & Paisley Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The sentiment is from the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set.

In addition, I’m sharing with you a project that was made in the recent neighborhood craft class…it’s a pumpkin made using mason jar lid rings!  The idea came from Pinterest and is super easy, as well as, fun to make.

Pick your favorite fall spray paint color, spray the mason jar lid rings (size used is for wide mouth quart jars).  After the rings are dry, string onto a a cord ensuring that the lids are all facing the same way.  Shape into a circle and tie the string to hold the lids in place.  Embellish as desired.  Note:  fallen tree limbs were cut to use for our pumpkin stems.

Jars of Spooky Treats!

Hi Everyone!  Hope you’re enjoying your weekend.  I had a few extra minutes so thought I would take the opportunity to share one of the Halloween cards made in this week’s card class. Attendees had lots of fun making this card.  The Jar of Haunts and matching Everyday Jar Framelits Dies makes it easy to create a variety of Halloween cards or treat holders.  The options are almost endless!

A few items to note when making the card…in the jar with the floating eyeball, the water portion was lightly sponged with Soft Sky ink to add a slight color contrast.  The center jar images were stamped directly onto Old Olive and a Real Red Stampin’ Marker was used to color the dripping blood on the jar.  The jar lid was stamped onto basic gray and highlighted with clear Wink of Stella.  Smoky Slate Stampin’ Marker outlines the mummy jar and the smallest Basic Rhinestone Jewels are the peeking eyes.  The spider web stamp is found in the Ghoulish Grunge set and the sentiment is from Spooky Fun.  I’m sure you see the randomly stamped spiders!

Spooky Skeleton!

Weeks behind on my posting but sometime life has “unexpected surprises” and I’m hoping that soon I will catch-up!  I have several photos to edit so they can be shared.  My posts will be short so that I can get the photos online…but as always, send me an email or add a comment with any questions regarding projects.

Since the release of the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog, I’ve had fun playing with many of the new stamp sets.  I’ve started prepping for the next class which will include Halloween and Fall projects.  One of the Halloween cards, “Spooky Skeleton”, will be available for attendees to make.  It uses a combination of the Halloween themed stamp bundles…they are all fantastic and it’s difficult to select which is my favorite!

I’ll have more projects posted soon to help you with “trick or treat” preparations.
