Challenging Frights & Delights is my theme for today. Even though the Paper Pumpkin kits come with instructions and pictures, it’s still fun to take to it another level. Do something different with the products that they give you. Maybe you can even add a few other products. I challenged myself to create something out of the box besides what they designed for us. So in honor of today – Halloween, I wanted to create something different. I’m happy how it turned out.
For this card, all the elements except the card base (Basic Black, Gorgeous Grape and Whisper White cardstock) are from the September Paper Pumpkin “Frights & Delights” project kit box. I Challenged myself to use the extra elements in the kit to create a Halloween card. I would love to see what you can do with some additional products and the September Paper Pumpkin kit. How can you start challenging Frights and Delights with your monthly kit?
I loved that little orange pumpkin the moment I saw it so my mind went to work immediately. There are other words you can use besides the eeeek. Halloween cards are always so fun to make because you can really go crazy. I thought about changing the colors of the bats but preferred them all black.
If you are not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber and want to start, you can sign up here and get your first monthly kit by November 20th. But you have to sign up by November 10th. If you sign up after November 10th then December will be your first kit. November will be the last Christmas themed project kit for the year.
First of all, let me say that I love wintry trees and the images they create. The holidays are here and that means creating beautiful hand made projects for your friends and family. One of my favorite bundles is in the Holiday Catalog. The Winter Woods bundle can create such amazing outdoor landscape cards. The Framelits are such a great feature of this bundle because you can use them to create the 3-D woods.
Adding embellishments and bling to projects is key to making your cards special for your loved ones. I always want everyone to know that each card is created with love and purpose. Additionally, the cards are created for each specific person.
Find these products and so much more in the Holiday Catalog. Rather than starting with colors, start with the stamp set you want to use and expand from there. There are a lot of products in the catalog that have caught my attention. So, maybe I should make more than one holiday card this season. I love the wintry trees because you can make them exactly what you want them to be. Additionally, you can create any season while putting your own personal touch into each and every card.
Today I have a very special z-fold birthday surprise card. It was designed by Cindee Wilkinson @ www.justspongeit.com. Her design was originally for a wedding card, however, I changed the paper and included a birthday greeting inside the card. The Designer Series Paper is our Share What You Love Specialty DSP.
Besides the DSP listed above, I used Basic Black Cardstock for the base. I also used the Stitched All Around Bundle which includes the stamp set and coordinating framelits. Additionally, for the sentiment, I stamped with versamark and heat embossed with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. That gives it a raised and much more vivid impression on the card. Finally, I finished by fussy cutting flower from the Designer Series Paper and tying 1/2″ Black Satin ribbon around card.
I love to take other designs and change it up a bit. See what I can do with it.
