Another Sneak Peek!!!

Hi Everyone!  Hope your week is going well and that you’re making plans for an enjoyable weekend.

Today for Creation Thursday, another sneak peek of new catalog items is being shared.  I am excited with the new products that will become available at the end of this month so I’ve prepared a card using the Mosaic Madness set.
A bit of Mosaic Madness
The card base was prepared using Daffodil Delight card stock (CS).  The next layer is Island Indigo CS which was texture embossed using the new Modern Mosaic Texture Impressions Embossing Folder in the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  Unfortunately in my photo, the Island Indigo is not being shown in it’s true color – it actually is not a dark blue as shown but more of a bright blue/green color.  As much as I tried to color correct and take photos in different lighting, it did not work!  A scrap piece of Whisper White CS was stamped using Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pad and a shape from the Mosaic Madness stamp set.  The shape was then punched using the Mosaic Punch and applied randomly to the Island Indigo layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Daffodil Delight CS and Whisper White CS was cut using the Ovals Collection Framelits in the Big Shot.  The Bring on the Cake stamp set was used to stamp the greeting using Island Indigo Classic Stampin’ Pad.   Rhinestones were colored using a Sharpie marker (this is a great way to color rhinestones and pearls!) and added as an extra embellishment.  The combination of the Daffodil Yellow and Island Indigo colors is one that I foresee using often.  The Mosaic Madness Bundle (stamp set and punch) will provide many creative options and I look forward to sharing more of those with you soon.
Be sure to mark your calendar for May 31st…that’s when the new catalog becomes available and new products can be ordered.
My sister is coming to visit next week and we have planned a full week of crafting.  I’ll be posting some of our creations so be sure to check back on Monday evening to see what we have to share.

Mother’s Day Card

Hope that all the moms had an enjoyable Mother’s Day.  Mine was very nice and the weather could not have been more perfect!
The past few days have been busy with other commitments so this Monday’s project share is the Mother’s Day card that I made and mailed to my mother.  In addition, I sent her an FTD bouquet – look at how the card and flowers coordinated!!!  Mom loved both. Thanks to my sister, Sharon, for sending me the photo of the flowers.
Mother’s Day Card using Secret Garden Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!
The card design is a variation of the birthday card shared last week. The base on the Mother’s Day card is Tempting Turquoise card stock and the large flower from the Secret Garden Stamp set was added using the Classic Stampin’ Pad in the same color onto the Whisper White CS base.  Daffodil
Delight Classic Stampin’ Pad and a smaller flower from the same set was stamped into the center of each
of the Tempting Turquoise flowers using the “stamp off, stamp on”
technique as describe in the earlier post. Old Olive Classic Stampin’ Pad was used for the leaves.  After stamping the Whisper White CS with the flowers and leaves, the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
was used to add additional dimension to the card.  The sentiment was added along with stamped and cut flower and leaves using the Secret Garden Framelits and Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to adhere the flower and leaves to the sentiment band.
Today the “Flowers are Blooming” card class was held and each of the
attendees was able to prepare four different flower themed cards. For
three of the ladies, it was their first time attending one of my card
classes and they did great!  The classes are always lots of fun.
That’s it for today…I’m planning for next month’s card class and will share a sample on Thursday.

A little “sneak peek”

Yippee!!! My Stampin’ Up! “sneak peek” order arrived yesterday and I was like a child on Christmas morning!  After eagerly opening the box, there were lots of ohs and ahs.  Though I am not allowed to show you the new products until the end of this month, I am able to share a card with you that incorporates some of the new product.  Check out the yellow flower!  It was made using the new White Simply Pressed Clay and the Blossoms Mold from the Blossoms & Buttons Simply Pressed Molds.  The flower was white but I used the Aqua Painter and Daffodil Yellow Classic Ink to “paint” the color onto the flower.  It has been a lot of fun playing with the clay and I can’t wait to show you more of the possibilities using it.

Bright Blossoms with Flower Embellishment

The card was made using Baja Breeze CS (card stock) as the base then layering with Daffodil Delight CS and Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper.  Whisper White CS was cut using the Labels Collection Framelits and the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  The Bright Blossoms Stamp Set with Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Markers was used to stamp the vase.  The clay flower as discussed earlier was then attached to the tall flower stem.  A stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Collection was used to add the message using Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad.

Here’s another card that was made this week to send to someone special…

Regal Rose Hydrangea

The base is Whisper White CS with a layer of Regal Rose DSP from the Brights Color Color Designer Series Paper Stack.   Whisper White 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon was used to embellish.  The Hydrangea stamp is from the Best of Flowers set and was stamped using Regal Rose and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers.  The Loving Thoughts Stamp Set message was stamped using Staz-on Jet Black Ink.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check in on Monday…more sneak peek will be shown.
Until then, have a good weekend!

More Note Cards

Hope your week is going well. It’s been a busy week for me.  On Monday, I traveled to St. Simon, Georgia, to participate in a two-day golf tournament.  It’s an annual event that is always a lot of fun.

Now that I’m home, it’s back to completing what was started in Monday’s Mishmash…finishing the note card set and redoing the card candy. Below you will see the final two note cards of the four card set.

3″ x 3″ Note Cards
The card candy that experienced a bit of a mishap (i.e. ink on hands!) has been reworked and is displayed below.  Card candy is perfect to have available so that when you need to make a card quickly,  the embellishments are ready to add.  The samples prepared were all made from my scrap pile…it’s a great way to use those small leftovers.   Like preparing a card, use layers and add dimension.

Card Candy – Stampin’ Up!

It’s a new month and Stampin’ Up! has released another Best of 25 Years stamp set to continue the anniversary celebration.  The May set is “Best of Brides and Babies”.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check in next week
for “Monday Mishmash”!
I’ll be showcasing some of the samples for the May card class.
As always, contact me with any questions.
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Note Cards

Happy Monday and hope you had a nice weekend!  Mine was busy and I was not able to spend as much time as had been planned working on crafts.  The rain arrived later than predicted so time was spent on other weekend activities.  When it did start raining, I decided to reorganize my craft area.  What began as a small chore became “huge” so precious time was spent organizing and not crafting.  Doesn’t it seem that “time flies”? Enough with organizing and on to creating projects for Mishmash Monday.  The planned projects were note cards and card candy (more on that to come). Below you will see examples of two of the note cards prepared.  I wanted to keep them simple and the 3″ x 3″ size is perfect for when you want to write a line or two to accompany a gift.  Later this week, I will share more note card samples.

3″ x 3″ Note Cards

Now to discuss the card candy…I prepared several samples of card candy (you know, the little extras to add to a card) and in a rush, did not realize that I had inadvertently touched ink.  Well, yes, you’ve guessed it – I had ink on my fingers and touched the samples!!!  Lesson learned – make sure hands are clean before picking up finished samples.  All is not lost though as I will rework the samples and share them with you on Thursday.

Remember to check the Retiring List for products that are being discontinued.  Some are discounted as much as 60%.  Get your favorite items before they are gone!  Click here to order.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check in again this week for “Creation Thursday”.
Until then, have a good week!

“With Sympathy”

This week for “Creation Thursday” I am sharing a card that I’ve made to send to a friend that lost her mother earlier this week.  Obviously, it was not what was originally planned for this week’s post.  Since we all, at one time or another, know someone that experiences such a loss, I thought it appropriate to share the card.  It’s simple but will carry a special message to my friend.
The card can easily be adapted for any occasion.

Note:  To prepare the flowers, VersaMark was stamped onto a scrap piece of Whisper White CS.  Black Emboss Powder was applied and the heat tool was used to melt and set the emboss powder.  A stamping sponge was then used to color the flowers using Summer Starfruit Classic Stamp Pad.  Though it’s not clearly shown in the photo, the color is darker in the center of the flower and lightens as it moves out toward the edge.  To ensure the ink is evenly applied, use a circular motion when sponging.  The next step is to use the Secret Garden Framelits to cut the flowers.
