First Frost Baker’s Box

Happy Friday!  This week I am sharing another of the recent class projects, a First Frost Baker’s Box.  The Baker’s Boxes are a great size for adding a treats or other small gifts.  One of my favorite embellishments for boxes is to make a belly band and add embellishments so naturally, I decided to use one for this project.  For embellishment, the First Frost Bundle coordinates beautifully with the Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper (DSP).

To decorate the Baker’s Box, cut a 1-3/4″ wide strip of Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper (DSP) to create the belly band.  Since the DSP will not fit completely around the box, cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock using the large Layering Ovals Framelit to connect the DSP and to act as a base for the embellishments.

The stamped floral uses the Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Markers to color the stamp, then “huff” by blowing your breath over the inked stamp to keep the ink moist and stamp onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock.  Cut using the Floral Bouquet Framelits.  Also use the Framelits to cut Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and Vellum images.  Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock using the large oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  Stamp “enjoy” (from the Takeout Treats Stamp Set) using Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin’ Pad on the right side of the oval.  Attach to the Blackberry Bliss oval on the baker’s box belly band.  Layer the cut embellishments onto the left side of the oval.  Finish by adding a doubled Linen Thread bow and scattering Basic Rhinestone Jewels around the paper.

CASE the Catalog – Country Lane Suite

Happy Monday and time for CASE the Catalog featuring the Country Lane Suite from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog (page 42-43).  The suite of products offers lots of options using the Country Home Photopolymer stamp set, the Country Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP), the Tin Tile Dynamic Texture Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF), as well as, the different embellishments.  The project that I recreated uses the Chicken Wire Elements and the Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF to add an extra touch to the card.  There are so many wonderful suites in the Holiday Catalog, it’s hard to select which is my favorite but this suite is one that will definitely get lots of use!

CASE the Catalog - Country Lane Suite

Materials:
  • Mint Macaron card base: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ (score at 4-1/4″)
  • Country Lane DSP: 4-1/2″ x 2-1/4″
  • Whisper White:  3″ x 4-1/4″ for front, 5-1/4″ x 4″ for interior, small scrap for stamping Hello
  • Chicken Wire Elements: 4-1/2″ x 2″  – NOTE: cut in 1/2 before attaching to card front
  • Ink: Memento Black, Crumb Cake
  • Stampin’ Blends: Cajun Craze, Blackberry Bliss, Smoky Slate, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
  • Everyday Label Punch (to cut notches on edges of the Whisper White front piece)
CASE the Catalog Steps:
  1. Use the Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF to texture emboss the card front and then using Sponge Dauber lightly sponge the front using Crumb Cake ink.
  2. Stamp the milk can image and the floral spray onto the Whisper White card front using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink – NOTE: stamp off center toward right as shown on sample.
  3. Color the image using the blends.  Swish Crumb Cake below the milk can. You may spritz color below the milk can or add dots  (as I did) using the tip end of the Soft Suede Stampin’ Blend.  Stamp sentiment and color with Cajun Craze stampin’ blend, then fussy cut to add to front of milk can.
  4. Assemble card by layering the Country Lane DSP and adding the Chicken Wire Element pieces at an angle ensuring that pieces will extend past the stamped image layer.
  5. Add the stamped image layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Take a look at the beauful tag created with the Peaceful Noel Bundle.

The Falling for Leaves bundle makes me want to get out that warm winter quilt and sip some hot chocolate next to the fire while working.

Beautiful Holiday Designs

Beautiful holiday designs are what you will see this year in the form of the new Designer Series Papers.  The Holiday Catalog also has so much more but the DSP’s are just gorgeous.  If you received a catalog and can’t really see them very well, take a look below at the video from Stampin’ Up! and you will get a better idea of how pretty they are.

Beautiful Holiday Designs Throughout the Catalog

I don’t know how many of them are on your list, but they are all on my list.  All the papers are available in my online store along with all the other Holiday Catalog products.  Did you notice the festive photography of the All is Bright DSP?  The vibrancy and detail are almost so life like, you just want to touch it.  The Christmas balls are so elegant and detailed.  Similarly with the Santa’s Workshop DSP.  I just love those little people.  It’s almost like you have to smile and sing when you are crafting.

If you still have not received a Holiday Catalog, please contact me so we can get one sent out to you.
