Specialty Papers are always popular and I do have a rising favorite in the new Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut. Also, it’s perfect for creating beautiful and elegant projects. While it’s only one of the Specialty Papers, it can also be a beautiful accent to that special card. Take a look at this card I created using the new paper as well as a variety of other new products from the annual catalog. Simple and Elegant.
This card was also created using the Love What You Do stamp set and one of our brand new colors – Grapefruit Grove. I really love this shade of orange and am so glad we have an additional option. It’s soothing and so natural. As with many new products, I bring you this lovely card to showcase these new products. A perfect example of how you can use just a portion of the Specialty paper. Simply add the paper alongside the edges leaving the bottom right for the sentiment. It makes a statement. Keeping the colors to just the Grapefruit Grove and white help with the simplicity.
Specialty Papers
Remember, this is only one of our new Specialty Papers. The new catalog is chock full of many great new papers to choose from for your crafting journey. Sometimes the new catalog can be a lot to take in and I’m happy to share some inspiration. Furthermore, it gives me the opportunity to play with the new products as well. In addition to the new papers, you get to explore the new colors in the form of our color revamp. I love that Stampin’ Up! keeps our colors fresh and trendy. I hope you have enjoyed the inspiration today. I know I enjoyed creating it. Give the paper a try and see how you enjoy working with it. Here are the products use to create this card:

Where and When
Open House Benefits
The Open House gives me a chance to share the new catalog and some of the gorgeous new products. It’s always great to put the products in your hands so you can get a feel for them. In addition, since the Stamparatus is a very sought after product, I’m happy to be able to show you what it can do. Pre-order was a few months ago and there are still many people that were not able to get one. It’s in the new catalog now so everyone can now order it. In addition, we have the new color re-vamp, stampin’ ink pad cases and card kits added to the catalog. Sometimes it can all be a little overwhelming so I want to help. Before you know it, the holidays will be here so it’s a great time to see what the new catalog has to offer and make that wish list.
Finally, I will have some retired product for you to purchase and order free product from the new catalog equal to your purchase (tax and shipping are not included). That is always a favorite. So there is alot to see and do at the Open House. I hope you can join us and have a little fun to start your week off right.
The new design case for the Stampin’ Up! Classic Ink Pads is innovative and a long time coming. Have you ordered any new stamp pads from the new catalog? If you have, I hope you have found the new design as impressive as I have. I think they are a bit easier to open as they have less steps. They will have a bit of a tighter fit at first. This will loosen a bit with use. New things always take a bit of breaking them in. Have you also noticed the larger color swatch on the case? If you have not purchased the new design stamp pads yet, please take a look below. Cheryl and John from Stampin’ Up! Product Development have a video below to give you a look at these new stamp pads and help with some tips and tricks.
New Design Case in Action
Also, I love that it’s still very easy to use the lid for watercolor techniques. Because of the bolder look, the colors are so easy to identify. Another great feature are the stickers. They give you options as well which is great because not everyone stores or handles their stamp cases the same way. Lastly, how great is it that they are stackable now? Stacking the cases is a benefit I know I am going to enjoy. After I pull out all my supplies to work with, it will be great to have my pads stackable and neat in my crafting space.
I know it will help some of you to see how they open and close. I’m a pretty visual person and enjoy videos like this. I remember when we moved away from the basic open and close stamp pads years ago. As with anything new, it did take a little getting used to. This time will be no different, so join me in embracing the new design case.
Do you feel like it’s too difficult to learn calligraphy? Stampin’ Up! may have the answer. Each year they take great care in creating their project kits throughout the year. Today I would like to introduce you to the Calligraphy Essentials Project Kit. It has such soft colors and designs. I have to admit, I love calligraphy so I was so excited when I saw this particular kit in the new annual catalog. There is a coordinating stamp set, but more on that later.
Learn Calligraphy
Each kit is always unique and this one is no different. Create beautiful hand-lettered cards while you learn calligraphy. The kit makes 16 cards, 4 each of 4 designs. It includes printed card bases and printed envelopes (which is my favorite thing about the kits). You get 8 sheets of labels, calligraphy practice sheets and adhesive-backed sequins. Everything you need tucked all in one package. The colors coordinate with some of your favorites and even some new colors – Coastal Cabana, Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick, Pear Pizzazz. In addition to the Essentials Kit, you can purchase the Calligraphy Essentials Clear-Mount Stamp Set (seen above) that coordinates with the kit. Also, together they make the complete Calligraphy Essentials collection.
If you are like me, you want to see it in action. Well I can help with that too. Take a look at the video Stampin’ Up! put together which let’s you see the kit up close. In addition, you can follow Shannon as she uses the products and helps guide you on how to use them.
When you are done practicing with the kit, you will be able to create beautiful calligraphy of your own. Finally, you can be proud when you finish all the practices sheets. Maybe even feel like a calligraphy expert. LOL
Stampin’ Up! offers an array of coloring tools designed to help color all your paper crafting projects. I thought I would take a minute and outline some of the different options and how they work. I know you may think coloring is coloring, but that’s simply not the case. It really does make a difference because color technique can change the look of a project. Take a look below at some of Stampin’ Up!’s coloring options and the specific purposes they have.
Coloring Tools Make a Difference
First up are the Aqua Painters. They are a watercoloring tool that allows you to use water without dipping. The Aqua Painter is designed to hold liquid in the tube base to make watercoloring easy. Give it a squeeze and the water is released. Add color with our Watercolor Pencils or any Stampin’ Up! Classic pads. Touch the brush to the ink and then transfer the ink to your image on the paper. It’s advised to use watercolor paper for your project.
Watercolor Pencils are high-quality, smooth color pencils. Perfect for watercoloring. You can use these alone, with our Blender Pens or the Aqua Painter. All you have to do is color your image and then bring in the Aqua Painter or Blender Pen if you are going for a watercolor look. There are 13 pencils in various Stampin’ Up! colors
Blender Pens combine the flexibility of watercolors with the convenience of markers. Also, they are dual-tipped pens filled with specialized solution to blend ink easily. It is recommended to use Watercolor Paper. Remember to clean off the tip after each use. Finish using the color and simply stroke the tip on scrap paper to remove color and move on to the next color without worry. They give a different look to the finished product than Aqua Painters.
Our Stampin’ Write Markers allow you to expand your ink selection. These artist-quality markers come in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors to take the guesswork out of product coordination. Flexible brush tip and fine tip in one marker. Color on paper, or color directly on a stamp for a multicolor effect. They are fast drying, dye-based ink and coordinate with Stampin’ Up! cardstock, ink and embellishments. Coloring is smooth and bold with these markers.
Lastly, we have our Stampin’ Blends. Our newest to the coloring tools, the Stampin’ Blends are high-quality, alcohol-based, dual-tip markers. Each color comes in one dark and one light sets to give you the best blending experience. Controlling the color is easy when using either the brush tip or the fine-point. Purchase by individual colors or combo packs. The Blends are not refillable, however, you can purchase the individual color when you need to replace them in your collection.
Variety of Embellishments
In addition, you can combine any of the above tools with a number of our embellishments. As a result, you can have Glitter, Embossing Powder, Wink of Stella, Embossing Paste, Sponge Daubers and even Brayer to help you further enhance your projects. Furthermore, once you add color to any of those options, the possibilities are endless. Hence, I encourage you to give some of them a try and see what you can create. While I know it’s a lot to absorb, I hope you have learned a little more about some of our coloring options. Most of all, you get to see what benefits each tool has. Please contact me with any questions on these or any of our Stampin’ Up! products.
