Hope your week is off to a good start. Yesterday, I hosted the monthly card class and used a class plan that Stampin’ Up! provided to demonstrators. It was aptly titled “Nutty Notecards” as the Acorny Thank You stamp set was used. The class was lots of fun and in addition to preparing four notecards and embellishing the envelopes, a box was was assembled to hold the notecards. Thus it would make an excellent gift. In addition to learning how to use the Gift Bag Punch Board, attendees also used spritzers thus learning how simple it is to change the look of Designer Series Paper (DSP). Yes, we changed the background color of the beautiful Into the Woods DSP! If you’d like the directions for making these cards and gift box, feel free to contact me.

Andrea (Andy), one of my regular class participants, surprised me with a small gift yesterday! She makes cross book marks and presented me with a box of them. Enough for sharing. Below is a photo of a silver and gold cross…to make the crosses, she used Stampin’ Up! Silver and Gold 1/8″ ribbon. The photo does not do them justice…they are beautiful! It was an unexpected gift but is treasured!

It’s been a whirlwind few weeks…my son’s wedding took place in Las Vegas and after a few days at home, I had another trip so unable to follow my blog posting schedule. The good news is that I am now home and have lots of projects to share with you in the coming weeks.
Today’s project utilizes the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies and Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) to create a treat holder. The paper with the deer is so adorable and I thought it would make a cute pillow box. There are so many great papers in the Home for Christmas paper pack that it’s difficult to decide which to use! Warning…if you opt to make a pillow box with DSP that has a directional pattern, prior to cutting your second piece be sure to check that pattern direction will be same as in first piece. The sentiment comes from the Oh, What Fun photopolymer stamp set.

For an upcoming Holiday Bags & Tags Class, one of the projects will be to embellish and transform a paper gift bag. By layering card stock, designer series paper (DSP) and adding a sentiment panel the bag becomes a special bag to use for presenting a gift. To further embellish the bag, the Festive Flower Builder Punch and the Reason for the Season stamp set was used to create a poinsettia. It was fun creating the poinsettia and you’ll see more creations from me using this set.
