Hats Off to You!

The theme in one of this month’s card classes was Guy Greetings.  We focused on creating cards that were “manly”.  The one being shared today was one of our quick and easy cards. The Guy Greetings stamp set if full of wonderful stamps for creating masculine cards and  the “hats off to you” sentiment seemed to be perfect for creating a congratulatory card.  The color combination was pulled from the English Garden Designer Series Paper.  Yes, isn’t it great that Stampin’ Up! designs the two-sided paper with prints that are so versatile?  For the card, Soft Suede, Mint Macaroon and Mossy Meadow was used.

As the excitement builds with the new catalog, I’m trying to use up my hoard of supplies (who can relate?)!  However, there are favorites from the past that will be missed so I’m stocking up before the items are gone (such as Lost Lagoon!)  Be sure to check out the retiring list.

DID YOU KNOW?  An Embossing Buddy is a small bag filled with a light powder. It’s the first step when heat embossing…rub it across your paper prior to stamping & adding embossing powder or glitter to your project.  It helps eliminate “strays” by reducing static.

Tea Cup Easel Card

Hi all!  Hope your week is off to a good start.  It’s a rainy day in Georgia so a good day for me to work on projects but before heading to my crafting space, I wanted to share a card that was made in the Cups & Kettles class last month.  It is an easel card and like a previously shared card, a tea cup was filled with flowers. The Cups & Kettles framelit dies have sold out but “A Nice Cuppa” stamp set is still available.  Don’t fret though…it’s easy to cut the tea cup with scissors!

This was a fun card to create and it’s nice way to display a card.  The easel card is a standard card size (5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″) and folds flat for mailing.
The countdown has started to the launch of the new catalog and Stampin’ Up! has announced Extra Stampin’ Rewards in the month of June for orders over $350!  You can earn an extra $35.  Start filling out your shopping list or plan to host a party.  Contact me for more details.

Party Wishes Birthday

It seems there’s always a need for a birthday card so for a recent class, I decided to use the Party Wishes stamp set and the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack (DSP) from Stampin’ Up! to create a card, as well as, a gift tag.  The DSP paper stack is great.  It has 48 sheets of 12 different double-sided designs so there are endless combinations available for fun creativity!  I selected the paper covered with candles and used an angle cut to split the paper so that when adhered to the card base, there’s room to stamp a sentiment (from Balloon Celebration stamp set) between the angled DSP.  For a finishing touch, a cake with candles was stamped to complete the card.  What’s a birthday without a gift!  so I created a gift tag to coordinate with the card.  Below the stamped sentiment (from the Party Wishes stamp set), the lower portion of the tag is covered with It’s My Party Designer Washi Tape.  Of course, don’t forget to embellish the envelope too!

This is a great stamp set and DSP for creating a variety of birthday cards.  Be sure to order the Party Wishes stamp set and the It’s My Party DSP soon…it’s retiring on May 31st.
