Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! The countdown is on for Christmas so in this month’s card class, the focus was on Christmas cards. One of the card designs was inspired by Linda Heller’s Stamping School. The whisper white cardstock with the silver accents creates an elegant look. Combining texture embossing and heat embossing definitely creates a card with the “wow” factor. So pull out your embossing tools and have fun creating! And don’t forget the envelope…

Is it just me or are you also thinking that Christmas seems to arrive much sooner each year!? With the holiday quickly approaching, it’s time to start making Christmas cards to send to family and friends. One of my favorite holiday stamp sets from the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is Carols of Christmas. It’s nice to have stamps with bold sentiments. The design is CASED from Stampin’ Up! with a change of colors to red versus the black colors in their design. To create snow on the branches of the trees, use the fine-tip glue pen to outline edges and sprinkle the glue while still wet with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter. Don’t forget to jazz up your envelope…the stars stamp used is from the Star of Light stamp set.

At this time last year, I shared a birthday card for a friend’s mother, Ms. Lorraine, who was celebrating her 97th birthday. This year we celebrated her 98th birthday so naturally a special card was in order. For the card, I combined the flower from the Birthday Blooms stamp set and the sentiment from the Number of Years stamp set. The Large Numbers Framelits Dies were used to cut the celebratory number. Powder Pink cardstock was used for the base and for cutting the number. The flower was stamped using Archival Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Stampin’ Write Markers in Blushing Bride, Old Olive and So Saffron were used to color the flower. Notice that the large flower was only outlined with the pink. The olive green layer is found in the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP) package. The 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon in Powder Pink was used to complete the card.
