This Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day and since my mom has received the card made for her, I can now share it with you. This year, I decided to make a drapery style card and since one of my favorite Designer Series Papers is Birthday Bouquet, I knew that it was the one that would be used for the card. The cup of tea (Cups & Kettles Framelits Dies) is a reminder for my mom to sit back, relax and know that lots of love is being sent her way. The interior of the card was stamped using the sentiment from the May Paper Pumpkin kit. I thought the style of the flowers in the sentiment closely matched those in the designer paper…just colored them with the matching Stampin’ Write Markers. Not only does Paper Pumpkin have cute projects but the stamps in the kits have been great for use on a variety of projects.

My mom called to say that she loved the card…I just hope she takes my advice to enjoy the day!
Take note that if you wish to make projects using the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and A Nice Cuppa Stamp set, these items are on the retiring list and will not be available after May 31. The Cups & Kettles Framelits Dies have sold out and are no longer available.

As I was preparing photos for recent posts, I stumbled across a photo of a gift card holder that was edited but not shared. Shame on me! The young man that does our landscaping and his wife had their first child in January so following the popular gift trend…a gift card was purchased for them. To present the gift card, I made a card holder using Stampin’ Up! Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags, Sweet Li’l Things Designer Series Paper and the Zoo Babies stamp set. This style of gift card holder is quick and easy to make. Thank you to Patty Bennett (www.pattystamps.com) for the design! The instructions are below the card photo so you can start making these for your gift card presentations.

| Gift Card Holder using Stampin’ Up! Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags, Zoo Babies Stamp Set & Sweet Li’l Things Designer Series Paper |
Gift card holder instructions:
1. Place Kraft bag on scoring board with sealed end against the top left corner of scoring board.
2. Score at the 3″ mark, fold and run bone folder across fold to create a crease.
3. To create band around bag, wrap and seal a 2 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Designer Series around the folded bag. This will hold the folded section in place creating 2 pockets (one for the gift card & one for a note card). To add a touch of flair, I tied 7/8″ natural cotton ribbon around band. The ribbon has been retired but is still available, while supplies last, in the Clearance section.
4. The monkey from the Zoo Babies Stamp set and greeting was stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock using Chocolate Chip ink, punched and layered on a scallop punched from Chocolate Chip card stock.
5. Very Vanilla card stock (4″ x 4″) was punched on two corners using the Curvy Corner Trio Punch to create a note card insert.
When I’m short on time and need a quick gift card holder, this style has become my “go to” design.
Take note, the Zoo Babies stamp set and the Sweet Li’l Things Designer Series Paper are retiring on May 31. You’ll want to place your order soon before they’re gone!

It’s May and the time for school graduations. This year our nephew, Carter, is graduating from college so it was off to my crafting space to make a celebratory card. Since the school colors are red and white, I decided to use those colors and the Sunburst Thinlits Die to create his card. To add a bit of elegance and enhance the other colors, the sentiment was heat embossed using gold Stampin’ emboss powder and gold metallic thread added the perfect touch of embellishment. Of course, the envelope needed a touch of celebration added to it too.

We are proud of Carter’s accomplishments and know his parents are celebrating too. Of course, they deserve a congratulations card as well!

With the upcoming retirement of the 2014-2016 In-Colors, one of the cards designed for this month’s card class featured two of my favorite color combinations: Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey. What colors will you miss?
All of the cards in the class used the “A Nice Cuppa” stamp set and the Cups & Kettle Framelits Dies (as previously mentioned, it’s such a fun set to be creative with!). This card is perfect for inviting a friend over for tea (or change it to coffee)…the sentiment is from the Balloon Celebration stamp set.

Of course, the interior of the card could not be forgotten…

While the “A Nice Cuppa” and the Cups & Kettles Framelits Dies are retiring, they are a set that I will continue to use often. Though I’m a paper hoarder (what paper crafter isn’t!), I have used most of my stash and am replacing this color combo before they retire. Be sure to order your favorites from the 2014-2016 In Color selection before they’re gone forever. On Monday, my product purchase premiere of items that were ordered while at the OnStage convention arrived and for the first time, I posted a live video via Facebook. The key word is “live” which means it’s unedited! Actually, I posted two…one opening & unpacking the box and the other was after unwrapping a few of the items. When I watched the videos, I had fun laughing at myself! It was definitely unscripted, unplanned and a spur of the moment idea but the excitement was real. You could even see some of the mess on my table from the card class earlier in the afternoon. I have been like a kid at Christmas looking at the wonderful products. Since it was a juggling act filming with my cell phone, holding it in one hand while trying to show the items with the other, I thought I would take a few photos of some of the products that I shared so you can get a better look at them.

The lower left in the collage photo is the reverse side of the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper and the right photo is a close-up of the copper floral page from the package. As mentioned in my video, copper is one of the new “in” looks.

The Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack is full of fun new colors. I pulled some of the pages to show you the front and back of papers in the stack. The paper stack consists of 48 pages of 6″ x 6″ papers (4 pages of 12 different designs). I predict this will be popular!

Attendees at the convention were able to make a color chart with the new 2016-2018 In Colors. While I will certainly miss the 2014-2016 In Colors (especially Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon), some of the new In Colors will definitely become favorites.
Be sure to check out my videos on Facebook (search: Margaret Knight videos) and follow me. You will never know when I’ll do another live video!

Today’s post will finish the sharing of the swaps made for the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live convention. In this swap, I “stepped” up the design created with the Timeless Textures stamp set by adding small flowers punched using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and edges sponged with Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Cucumber Crush inks. To create a focal point, a flower was stamped and punched using the Flower Shop stamp set. Notice the silver metallic thread and punched card stock flower…both add just the right touch! The “Hello” sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit stamp set.

Heads up – The Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack is on the Retiring List so you’ll want to nab this set before it’s gone as it’s great for adding that small touch to your creations.
