If you have not had the opportunity to look closely through the Occasions Catalog, be sure to set aside enough time to check out each page. You’ll find all sorts of hidden gems! One is the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). You can see snippets of the paper on pages 10-13 but you must really each of the pages to appreciate the beauty of the paper. I love that there is silver foil one of the sides of each page which makes any project look elegant. The Thank You card below highlights the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP and though simple, it is still elegant.

This project has been on my desk since before the holidays waiting for me to photograph and share with you. I was asked to prepare samples using the “A Little Wild” bundle for the Luv 2 Stampin GA team meeting and decided to make alter a mini pizza box to create a gift box. You’ll notice that the box is a Bath & Body Hand Sanitizer that seemed designed especially to coordinate with the “A Little Wild” stamp set!
A window was cut in the mini pizza box using the Layering Circle Framelits. Additionally, the framelits were used to cut the rim framing the window from Sky Blue cardstock. The box top was lightly sponged with Sky Blue ink. The bees were randomly stamped on the box top and also along the sides of the box using Archival Basic Black. The body of the bees was colored using a Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker. The bear was stamped onto Shimmery White cardstock and colored using an aqua marker with Soft Suede ink. Note the shading on the bear. The hive was stamped using Soft Suede onto a scrap of Crushed Curry cardstock.
I was happy that the mini pizza boxes made it on the Carryover List from the Holiday Catalog as they are the perfect size when presenting someone with “a little something”. More ideas using the boxes will be shared in upcoming posts.

As promised in my last post, I am sharing the card designed using the Brusho Crystal Color applied to the stamped image from the Petal Palette stamp set. The color was applied using an aqua painter. Brilliant Red was used to color the flower and the leaves were first colored with Moss Green but I desired a brighter green color so mixed some of the Prussian Blue and Yellow Brusho to achieve a bluish green and applied it over the Moss Green layer. Which leaf color do you prefer?

Card Details:
Basic Black Cardstock (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″; scored at 4-1/4″ to form base), 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ for layering circle
Petal Passion DSP: 5-1/4″ x 4″
Watercolor Paper: 2-1/4″ x 5″
Whisper White Cardstock:3″ x 3″ for sentiment circle layer, interior: 5-1/4″ x 4″
Stamp image onto watercolor paper using Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Ink. Color image using aqua painter and Brusho Crystal Color. Use the Petals & More Thinlits Dies to cut image.
Stamp sentiment using Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Ink, cut using Layering Circles Framelits. Use the scalloped Layering Circles Framelits to cut Basic Black cardstock. Using Fast Fuse or SNAIL Adhesive, layer the sentiment atop the scallop circle.
Assemble the card – adhere DSP, attach the flower image using Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere the sentiment using Fast Fuse or SNAIL adhesive.
Complete card by adding Basic Rhinestones to sentiment layer.

When preparing for this month’s card class, I knew that at least one of the cards would involve using the Brusho Crystal Colors available in the recently released Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog. It was while using the aqua painter and playing with the Brusho that I decided to compare the results when coloring with Brusho vs Stampin’ Ink vs a watercolor pencil. For the Aqua Painting comparison, the flower bouquet from the Petal Palette Stamp Set was stamped onto watercolor paper using Archival Black Ink. The Brusho and Classic Stampin’ ink were applied using an aqua painter and for the watercolor pencil, the image was colored then blended with the aqua painter. Below are the results:

As you can tell in the photos, the Brusho Color Crystals provide the most color depth and intensity. The third layer of color improved the color intensity on all samples. Regardless of which coloring medium you select, all provide beautiful results.
