Earlier this week, I hosted a Facebook Live demonstration for the Playtime with Paper team. During the live presentation, the Freezin’ Fun Bundle was used to make two cards. One of the cards from the presentation is the Freezin’ Fun Friends. So, I’m sharing the card and some of the details with you. The sentiments in the Freezin’ Fun Cling Stamp Set are great to use on projects throughout winter. Plus with the coordinating Freezin’ Friends Dies, it’s easy to stamp and cut many of the images in the stamp set. And if you like coloring – you’ll have lots of fun coloring the images!
Card Details:
Create a card base using Whisper White Thick cardstock cut at 4-1/4″ x 11″. Score at 5-1/2″ and fold for a top fold card. For the background layer, use the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper. Select the page design with the snowy mountain background at the top and cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″. NOTE: Be sure to cut the 4″ width first. You’ll want the mountains to be near the top fold of the card. With Stampin’ Seal, attach to the card base.
To create the ski hills for the friends, use two pieces of Whisper White cardstock (4″ x 3″ & 4″ x 2-1/2″) and cut with the sloping stitched die from the Freezin’ Friends dies. TIP: Slant the die across the cardstock at different angles and then die cut to achieve the desired look. After die-cutting the ski hills, attach to the mountain layer placing the larger ski hill onto the layer first. Then, attach the second ski hill layer. To add shimmer and sheen, use Clear Wink of Stella and swipe it across the Whisper White ski hills.
For the Images:
Stamp the skiing bunny, the penguin and the snowboard onto Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Color using the following Stampin’ Blends:
- Skiing Bunny: skis – Dark Smoky Slate; outline bunny with Light Gray Granite, center of ears & nose: Dark Petal Pink; scarf – Light Pool Party, ski pole tip – Light Daffodil Delight; ski pole – Light Smoky Slate
- Penguin: Light & Dark Smoky Slate for body, Beak & Feet – Light Pumpkin Pie; scarf & hat – Light & Dark Real Red – use color lifter to create highlights
- Snowboard: Bronze
After coloring each of the images, use the coordinating dies to cut the shapes. Add to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the sentiment onto a 3/4″ x 3″ strip of Whisper White cardstock using the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Cut ends using the Banners Pick A Punch. Layer onto a 1″ x 3-1/2″ strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock with the ends cut with the punch. Attach to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finish card by embellishing with the Adhesive Backed Snowflakes.
It was fun creating this Freezin’ Fun Friends card and coloring the fun images! Be sure to nab this bundle and add it to your collection so you can create fun, winter theme cards.

This card looks like a lot of fun to make and give! I hadn’t thought about cutting scenery from DSP and using it to make the background of a card. I’ll have to try this!
Thank you Beneta. Definitely look for DSP with scenes to use as backgrounds.
Another creative project!
Thanks Susan. It was a fun card to make.
I love the blends colors you chose for the images! Such a fun card to receive!
Thank you!
