It’s time for nature this week with the CASE the Catalog featuring the Nature’s Poem Suite, so let’s get started.  First of all, this suite of products includes the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set Bundle, Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper, Nature’s Twine and the Leaves Trinkets embellishments.  Though the calendar indicates it is officially Fall, here in Georgia we are still experiencing summer.  Therefore, while waiting for nature to change it’s weather pattern,  I thought a nature themed card might help!  It’s certainly worth a try.  Hey, whatever it takes!  The card I cased is on page 144 in the Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  I also like the other three cards on that page but those are for another day.

Another thing about the nature this week card is that it also features a textured embossed layer using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  That’s probably why I like it so much.

Nature's Poem Product Suite

Start with Petal Pink cardstock cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score at 4-1/4″ to create the card base (5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″).  Use Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to texture emboss a 5-1/4″ x 4″ Petal Pink cardstock.  Drag a White Craft Ink pad across the embossed layer to add extra dimension.  Allow ink to dry before attaching to the Petal Pink card base.

The brown leaf DSP is 5″ x 2-3/4″ and the falling leaf DSP is 4-3/4″ x 2-3/4″.  Cut a notch in the leaf DSP to create a banner.  Layer the two pieces of DSP (refer to photo for placement).  Wrap Nature’s Twine around top of the DSP layers before attaching to prepared Petal Pink card base.

Finally, use Soft Suede Classic ink to stamp the tree stump into a 3″ square of Crumb Cake cardstock.  Stamp the sentiment using Versamark ink with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Use heat tool to set embossing powder.  Stamp five sets of leaves onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Tanquil Tide Classic Stampin’ Pad and cut using coordinating Nature’s Root Thinlit Die.  Layer the leaves, the Leaves Trinkets and the Sentiment to complete the card.

Maybe it’s me, but I think it’s really even more impressive in person.  I so enjoy nature cards because it’s just another part of beautify and as a result, my creativity also flows.  Likewise for beach scenes cards.  I know everyone has their personal serenity.  I also hope you enjoyed this weeks CASE the Catalog.
